Abortionists Are Eugenicists

I've already explained my position: My Abortion Evolution

These types of article only confirm my feelings.

"Report endorses US spending on family planning programs" by David Crary, Associated Press | February 24, 2009

NEW YORK - Publicly funded family planning prevents nearly 2 million unintended pregnancies and more than 800,000 abortions in the United States each year, saving billions of dollars, according to new research intended to counter conservative objections to expanding the program.

It's not like I necessarily object to the goals; however, it is once again part of the agenda-pushing on whatever issue happens to appear in my "news"paper.

The data are in a report being released today by the Guttmacher Institute, a reproductive-health think tank whose research is generally respected even by specialists and activists who don't share its advocacy of abortion rights.

Report co-author Rachel Benson Gold called the family planning program "smart government at its best," asserting that every dollar spent on it saves taxpayers $4 in costs associated with unintended births to mothers eligible for Medicaid-funded care.

I'm sorry, but I JUST DON'T BELIEVE GOVERNMENT has ANY BUSINESS messing with FAMILIES! You know, if it weren't for the lying and agenda-pushing, I would probably find this all reasonable. I know better now.

Last month, under withering Republican criticism, House Democrats abandoned an attempt to include an expansion of family planning services for the poor in the economic stimulus bill. One antiabortion activist, Troy Newman of Operation Rescue, called the short-lived proposal a "shameful population control program that targeted low-income families."

It is SAD but HE IS RIGHT! The GLOBALISTS are into that kind of crap (which is why I reflexively oppose it).

However, Democrats in Congress are not abandoning their overall goal.

Of course not.

They plan to push soon for a major funding increase for Title X, the main federal family planning program, as part of broader legislation endorsed by President Obama to reduce the number of unintended pregnancies. The Guttmacher report provides ammunition for those who will advocate the funding increase....

Why does the term self-serving study suddenly spring to mind?

The report also endorses pending congressional legislation that would increase funding for Title X family planning. Some advocacy groups hope to more than double the current funding to $700 million a year.

I'm not against women; it's just that nowhere in the Constitution can I see it saying we should be using taxpayer money for this. True about so many things.

WASHINGTON - A handful of biotech companies are racing to market a new generation of tests for Down syndrome, a development that promises a safer way to spot the most common genetic cause of mental retardation early in pregnancy even as it weaves a thicket of moral, medical, and regulatory concerns.

That's what OUR BILLION-DOLLAR TAX GIVEAWAY is going for?

Doctors recommend that all pregnant women be offered screening for Down syndrome, and about half undergo the tests. But the current tests often produce confusing, ambiguous results, unnecessarily causing alarm to couples or falsely reassuring them. The tests are designed to offer more definitive results earlier....

Abortion opponents, meanwhile, fear that the technology may prompt more couples to terminate pregnancies. And advocates for the disabled, noting that couples are often poorly informed about the syndrome, worry that more of them may feel pressured to abort. They also fear that if the number of those born with the condition dwindles, there could be more discrimination.

Andrew J. Imparato of the American Association of People With Disabilities:

"We have a history in this country of a eugenics movement where people tried to eliminate certain people from the gene pool. People could start wondering, 'How did you get born?' "

That's right, and we HONOR THEM!
