Cops Episodes You Will Not See

Naw, they ain't comin' to Mass soon because they don't catch anyone!!

Yeah, the Boston cops got time to cruise the strip, bust brothels, hang out in bars, buy drugs, and worry about cellphones while ROBBERIES, RAPES, and MURDERS go UNSOLVED!!!

And that "bum" you thought you saw?

Earlier this month, police wrapped up a 30-day sting involving plainclothes officers mimicking tourists and other pedestrians. Once they were panhandled, they essentially became victims guaranteed to show up for a trial

And now they need bigger guns for the "terrorists,” while failing to acknowledge the obvious?

Act I

Intro (with theme music):

"He carries what appears to be a bomb. He completes each holdup faster than a typical transaction at an ATM"

"Officials launch manhunt for elusive bank robber; FBI agent calls him disciplined" by Jonathan Saltzman, Globe Staff | June 23, 2009

The masked man sprints into the bank and heads straight for the teller’s window. He brandishes a pistol and leans over the counter to point it inches from the teller’s face. In three robberies, he carries what appears to be a bomb. He completes each holdup faster than a typical transaction at an ATM.

Authorities have launched a manhunt for a robber they have dubbed the U30 Bandit because he is in and out of the banks in under 30 seconds. “From the time he enters that door, he’s all business,’’ said FBI agent Randy Jarvis, who supervises a violent crimes task force in the Boston area that investigates bank robberies. “This guy’s shown a level of discipline that we rarely see.’’

The robber has held up seven banks in suburbs west and south of Boston between March 26 and June 16, authorities said. Three times he placed what appeared to be an explosive device on the counter, including what looked like three sticks of dynamite taped together in a Needham holdup.

Why is the PRO-WELLESLEY PAPER vague on THAT TOWN, 'eh, 'eh?

Twice, he left the device after fleeing, prompting evacuations and frantic police responses that diverted authorities from immediately pursuing the robber, according to the FBI. The devices turned out to be fake.

The bureau, which is working with State Police and local police departments on the case, has issued a wanted poster of the robber featuring seven photographs taken by bank surveillance cameras. The FBI has also offered a $37,500 reward.

Deputy Wellesley Police Chief Bill Brooks, whose town was the scene of two of the robberies, said authorities are worried because in recent holdups, the culprit has hoisted himself up at the counter, leaned over, and pointed a gun in the face of tellers with his finger on the trigger....

Bank robberies in the region have fallen this year despite the bad economy....

Oh, ISN'T THAT a NICE THING to FILE AWAY for LATER in the MEMORY BANKS?

The robber apparently flees in a car driven by an accomplice. Authorities had no description of the car or getaway driver. Brooks said the robber appears to be white and about 5 feet 10 inches tall, but he had no other details because the gunman’s face is covered.

In addition to Wellesley and Needham, the robberies have occurred in Newton, Dedham (twice), and Walpole. Anyone with information about the robbery is encouraged to call the FBI....

"Drug investigators hunt ‘impact player’" by Eric Moskowitz, Globe Staff | June 27, 2009

The state’s attorney general and Boston’s police commissioner joined together yesterday to ask the public for help finding an alleged cocaine distributor and “impact player’’ on the Boston crime scene who has been a fugitive since Monday.

Christian Miranda, a Roxbury 39-year-old, slipped away from police after an evening chase in Dorchester, on foot and by car, hours after he participated in what officials believe was a wholesale drug transaction.

Officers said they saw Miranda make what appeared to be threatening gestures with a gun before he hopped a fence and escaped....

Last month, Miranda was in North Carolina, where a Nash County jury found him not guilty of first-degree murder in what authorities described as a 2007 shootout that killed an innocent bystander and left Miranda wounded....

“He’s a person that we need to get off of the street, and we need the help of the community now to make that happen,’’ Police Commissioner Edward Davis said.

Attorney General Martha Coakley, urging anyone with knowledge of Miranda’s whereabouts to call Boston’s Crime Stoppers line at 800-494-TIPS or State Police at 508-820-2121: “....the public can be of great assistance in letting us know where he is.’’

Okay, let's see, where can we START?

"About a dozen private foreign funds — which he said were “hiding in the weeds” in Europe — that raised money for Mr. Madoff and had sustained major losses. These funds have not yet been publicly identified, he said. And their silent victims most likely include investors of “dirty money,” including Russian mobsters and Latin American drug cartels, he said — although he acknowledged that he did not have specific information about such investments."

"Police officer charged with beating man

A veteran Sandwich police officer has been charged with beating a man while off duty so severely that the victim needed 37 stitches to the face. A clerk magistrate issued a complaint of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon against Officer Dennis Byrne this week following an internal investigation by Sandwich police. Chief Michael Miller told the Cape Cod Times that Byrne, 38, a 10-year veteran, is on paid administrative leave pending a disciplinary hearing. Miller said the alleged beating took place June 17. Byrne is to be arraigned July 21 in Barnstable District Court (AP)."

"$500,000 could be awarded in overturned drug case; Suspect spent 4 years in prison" by Jonathan Saltzman, Globe Staff | June 25, 2009

Humberto Guzman’s conviction on cocaine charges was tossed out in 1994 on grounds of ineffective counsel and never reinstated, in part because two veteran Boston police detectives who had been the state’s key witnesses at trial were indicted by a federal grand jury on a charge of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars during drug raids....

The trial judge threw out the conviction because Guzman’s trial lawyer failed to call one of the customers as a witness, even though he would have testified that Guzman was not the man who sold him drugs....
