At Airports Around the World

Amazing what people will do over lies sometimes.

Let's start with a whopper
:

"Bombing suspect had no coat, luggage; Congress hears of missed signs in foiled attack" by Pamela Hess and Ann Sanner, Associated Press | January 14, 2010

WASHINGTON - Bombing suspect Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab boarded his Christmas Day flight in Amsterdam to frigid Detroit with no coat - perhaps the final warning sign that went unnoticed leading up to what could have been a terrorist attack.

Pffffffttt!!!

Congress got its first behind-the-scenes look yesterday at the attempted airline bombing, and officials said the security failures were even worse than President Obama outlined last week. It remains unclear, however, how those failures will be fixed. “He was flying into Detroit without a coat. That’s interesting if you’ve ever been in Detroit in December,’’ Representative Bill Pascrell, Democrat of New Jersey and a member of the House Homeland Security Committee, said after a briefing by John Brennan, presidential counterterrorism adviser.

So WHEN is the NEXT BIG BANG of a FALSE FLAG TERROR EVENT, because, boy, DO YOU GUYS EVER NEED ONE, huh?

Dennis Blair, national intelligence director, and Michael Leiter, national counterterrorism center director, briefed the House Intelligence Committee behind closed doors, and Brennan took questions from the House in overlapping sessions yesterday. Congress wants to know how Obama plans to improve an intelligence system that failed to recognize the significance of repeated warning signs that Abdulmutallab was planning an attack. Also, the Nigerian showed up at the Amsterdam airport without any luggage - another sign that officials acknowledge should have prompted more scrutiny.

Well, we ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENED and you need only check your underwear to see it.

Critical warning signs had emerged even earlier, in mid-October, when a National Security Agency wiretap picked up discussion out of Yemen that referred to a Nigerian being trained for a special mission, according to a House official who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the closed-door meeting. Obama has ordered agencies to review and tighten their procedures but has mostly left it up to them to figure out how....

Obama's downfall.

You never leave an "intelligence" agency to play with itself.

In November, Abdulmutallab’s father in Nigeria reported to the US Embassy that his son had gone to Yemen and had fallen under the influence of radicals there.

Related: U.S. Complicit in Crotch Bomber Case

So that's who the father is, huh?

Another point of failure, acknowledged last week by the White House, was that a misspelling of Abdulmutallab’s name at the US Embassy in Nigeria initially made the State Department believe he did not have a US visa and therefore was less of an immediate concern.

Translation: That's how our patsies can make the planes -- a "misspelling!"

“A system shouldn’t get stymied by a single misspelling,’’ Representative Rush Holt, a New Jersey Democrat and member of the House Intelligence Committee, said. “If you mistype something in Google, Google comes back and says maybe you want to look at this other spelling.’’

Yeah, well, U.S. intelligence agencies aren't Google -- they just use them to track your web activities.

The FBI says Abdulmutallab tried to destroy Northwest Airlines Flight 253, which was carrying nearly 300 people, by injecting chemicals into a package of explosives concealed in his underwear. He has pleaded not guilty to a six-count indictment.

Was that before or after the torture?

And I'm just supposed to take the FBI's word on this, or.... ?

Congress is planning several hearings on the case.

That's not going to help me.

Neither is this New York Times PoS propaganda:

"Lonely Trek to Radicalism for Terror Suspect

KADUNA, Nigeria — Well before Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab disappeared into the rugged mountains of Yemen with an ominous goodbye to his father — warning him that “this is the last time you are going to hear from me,” according to top Nigerian officials — the tensions between the two pious men had already begun to show.

Though his father’s career in banking had brought great wealth, enough to finance a neighborhood mosque in the family name and hire a private imam at home, his cousins said the young Mr. Abdulmutallab openly condemned the profession as immoral for charging interest and lectured his father to quit....

Don't you love the MSM cover-up of the father's true role in Nigeria, as well as the patsy cover story?

Behind Mr. Abdulmutallab’s journey from gifted student to terrorism suspect, accused of trying to bring down a plane headed to Detroit on Dec. 25 with explosives sewn into his underwear, is the struggle between father and son, between piety and radicalism, between an investment in this life and a disconnected young man’s apparent longing for the next.

PFFFFFTTT!

It is a struggle within Islam itself, not just in the Middle East or in centers of jihadist ideology like London, but also here in Kaduna, the northern Nigerian city where Mr. Abdulmutallab grew up and returned to on vacation. “Kaduna city has a long history of religious extremism and intolerance,” said a neighbor, Shehu Sani. “For 30 years, there has been violence here.... I don’t think all his radical ideas came from Yemen.”

No, I'm sure some came from his CIA handlers.

While it may be rare for a child of privilege like Mr. Abdulmutallab to embrace extremism, it is far from unprecedented, analysts say, bringing to mind some infamous cases.

Yeah, the MORE THIS STINKS the FURTHER YOU get!

John Walker Lind, the American captured as a fighter for the Taliban in northern Afghanistan, was the son of a lawyer and grew up in the gentle, moneyed suburbs of Marin County, Calif. Osama bin Laden’s father was a staggeringly wealthy contractor in Saudi Arabia, while his second in command in Al Qaeda, Ayman al-Zawahiri, is a doctor who comes from a highly prestigious family in Egypt. And like Mr. Zawahri, some analysts say, Mr. Abdulmutallab shared another trait of some notable jihadists.

Honestly, I'M SICK of the CIA CUT-OUTS, etc, 'kay?

YOU have LOST ME, MSM!!!

I NO LONGER believe the FRAUD anymore!!!

“He is alone and isolated,” said Hani Nesira, a director at Al Mesbar Studies and Research Center who specializes in Islamic movements. “These kind of individuals are usually different from their social surrounding and are unable to find themselves.”

That explains the conduct of AmeriKan presidents, doesn't it?

While other rich children were going to parties, Mr. Abdulmutallab spent his visits home across the street, at the mosque financed by his father.... In Internet postings in 2005, when he was a student at a British boarding school in neighboring Togo, he pondered his sense of isolation. “I feel depressed and lonely,” he wrote. “I do not know what to do. and then I think this loneliness leads me to other problems.”

By 2007, as he studied mechanical engineering at University College London, the transformation was deep. “He had changed; he was saying ‘Islam, Islam, Islam;’ he was saying we should all try to change, and be more Islamic,” Aminu Baba-Ahmed recalled. Even in recent months, he said, the fun-loving boy he had known was chiding him about going to parties. “I was really surprised,” Mr. Baba-Ahmed said....

And that is where the Invisible Ink of the Boston Globe ran out, readers.

And I could really not care any less about what the NYT has to add.

Or Congress and their 'investigation."

"US officials detail attempted bombing on Christmas" by Devlin Barrett, Associated Press | January 25, 2010

WASHINGTON - For hours after allegedly trying to use a bomb hidden in his underwear to blow up a Christmas Day flight to Detroit, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab talked and talked - to customs officers, medical personnel, and FBI agents.

He spoke openly about what he had done and why, and provided valuable intelligence, US officials said in interviews that spell out for the first time the details of Abdulmutallab’s arrest and questioning on Dec. 25....

PFFFFFT!

The officials who spoke to the Associated Press said on-scene investigators never discussed turning the suspect over to military authorities. And their accounts show that as the hours passed, the FBI turned to its own counterterrorism interrogators, rather than seek bureau personnel to fly in from Washington or elsewhere....

Here is what officials say happened: Shortly after noon on Christmas, federal agents were notified that Northwest Airlines flight 253 had arrived at the Detroit airport from Amsterdam, with a passenger who had lit an explosive device on the aircraft. After being restrained and stripped bare by fellow passengers and crew, Abdulmutallab was handed over to Customs and Border Protection officers and local police. The officers and an ambulance crew took him to the burn unit at the University of Michigan Medical Center.

Yeah, a nice, cleaned-up, cover story for you, readers!

Mr. McLaughlin was behind much of the politicized intelligence before the war. He perverted the intelligence process, ignored high-level briefings on the weakness of the WMD evidence and tried to silence David Kay, the chief of the Iraq Survey Group, when the weapons inspectors found no sign of WMD in Iraq. Mr. McLaughlin was also behind the CIA's preparation of Secretary of State Colin Powell's speech to the U.N. in February 2003 that used phony intelligence to convince an international audience of the need for war.

"Travelers evacuate airport terminal

NEW YORK - A terminal at John F. Kennedy International Airport was evacuated yesterday after someone opened a door to a secure area and set off an alarm, officials said. The security breach apparently involved someone who left a first-class American Airlines lounge at Terminal 8, opened a door that was supposed to be used only by airport workers, and walked through. (AP)."

Kind of a short brief for such an inconvenience, Globe -- especially when you had a full briefing on the web site the day before(!):

"JFK terminal is evacuated after security breach" by Cristian Salazar, Associated Press Writer | January 16, 2010

NEW YORK -- Port Authority of New York and New Jersey spokesman Steve Coleman said security cameras recorded the incident just before 3:30 p.m. It was the second such incident at a New York-area airport this month; a security breach at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey on Jan. 3 also forced passengers to be re-screened.

Authorities were initially unsure Saturday whether the person had been coming or going from the JFK terminal and evacuated the secure areas of the building while they investigated. The Transportation Security Administration said its agents and Port Authority police were searching for the person who walked through the door. It was not immediately clear whether the passenger would face charges. "They have such big signs, I don't know how you can miss that," said Teijo Niemela of Lambertville, N.J., waiting in a security line for his delayed flight to Helsinki. "That makes me angry about the whole system. We pay a lot of money because of someone's mistakes."

Judy Erickson, a hairdresser who was waiting to get on a flight to Los Angeles, said it was shocking that the passenger was able to get through a restricted door. "All those doors that you're not supposed to go through should have a guard or security," she said. Terminal 8 handles both domestic and international flights for American Airlines....

Security officials began to let passengers back in around 6 p.m. but weren't sure how long it would take for everyone to pass through security checkpoints.

Had to STAND OUT in the COLD for OVER TWO HOURS because of LIES, huh, 'murka?

Inside the terminal, hundreds of people waited in a long line outside the security gate. Dozens of people sat on the floor with their bags.... The incident is the third evacuation in five months at airports that serve New York City....

Answer? DON'T FLY on an AIRPLANE EVER AGAIN!

"JFK security breach a mistake, suspect reportedly says" by Associated Press | January 18, 2010

NEW YORK - The man returning from Haiti who set off an alarm that led to the evacuation of a busy terminal at John F. Kennedy International Airport told police he went through a restricted door by mistake, an official familiar with the investigation said yesterday.

The official was not authorized to comment publicly on the case against the Brooklyn man and spoke on condition of anonymity. The security breach on Saturday afternoon delayed dozens of flights and caused headaches for hundreds of travelers who had to exit the terminal and wait for hours while police swept through the building.

Passengers were then rescreened by Transportation Security Administration officers. The incident occurred less than two weeks after another security breach at nearby Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey. Jules Paul Bouloute, 57, was charged with first-degree criminal tampering and third-degree criminal trespass, said Helen Peterson, a spokeswoman for the Queens district attorney....

"Nigeria to put marshals on US-bound flights" by Bloomberg News | January 14, 2010

LAGOS, Nigeria - Nigeria will create antiterror squads and deploy air marshals on flights to the United States following last month’s failed attempt by a Nigerian national to bomb a Detroit-bound Northwest Airlines aircraft.

A new bill to strengthen counterterrorism measures in the West African country is awaiting passage by Parliament, Vice President Goodluck Jonathan said in a statement yesterday from the capital, Abuja. Following the Dec. 25 bombing attempt, for which Al Qaeda in Yemen claimed responsibility, the United States included Nigeria among the countries from which airline passengers will face special screening before boarding flights to American destinations....

Jonathan met Tuesday with Jane Holl Lute, deputy secretary of Homeland Security, to discuss the incident and requested that Nigeria be removed from a list of 14 countries deemed either state sponsors of terror or “countries of interest.’’ While Abdulmutallab is Nigerian, he left Nigeria at an early age and received his “indoctrination far from the shores of Nigeria,’’ Jonathan said. Nigeria would welcome US assistance “in order that any areas of perceived technical weaknesses can be strengthened without delay,’’ Jonathan said.

Translation: They want off the terrorists lists.

Same with Yemen:

SANA, Yemen - Yemen will stop issuing visas to foreign visitors upon arrival to prevent Islamic militants from sneaking in to train with an Al Qaeda offshoot that has established a stronghold in the country, officials said yesterday.

Visitors requiring visas will instead have to apply for them at Yemeni embassies abroad before traveling in an effort to better screen out potential militants. “These measures aim to end infiltration of Al Qaeda elements who used to abuse these conveniences in place,’’ said Tarek al-Shami, a spokesman for Yemen’s ruling party. Al Qaeda’s offshoot in Yemen has become a pressing concern for US security after the failed attempt to blow up a Detroit-bound jetliner Dec. 25. FBI investigators say the Nigerian suspect told them he received explosives and training from the group in Yemen.

The new visa rules were issued a day after Britain suspended direct flights to Yemen’s capital, Sana, in response to the growing threat from Al Qaeda-affiliated militants based in the country. It also follows a US Senate report quoting American law enforcement officials as saying they believe that as many as three dozen Americans who converted to Islam in prison have traveled to Yemen, possibly to train with Al Qaeda. A counterterrorism official said travelers from North America, Europe, Australia, Japan, and Persian Gulf nations will now be subject to the new order....

Yeah, fine, whatever.

And DON'T FLY BRITISH AIRWAYS, either!

"Yemen launches 2d attack on wanted Al Qaeda figure" by Ahmed Al-Haj, Associated Press | January 21, 2010

SANA, Yemen - Britain’s government said it would create a new no-fly list, target specific airline passengers for tougher security checks, and suspend some international flights in response to a growing terrorism threat posed by Yemen and Somalia.... as intelligence agencies’ alarm grows regarding a terrorism threat in Africa and the Arabian peninsula.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown said Britain would expand a watch list that contains more than 1 million names, start full-body scans at United Kingdom airports next week, and suspend the two weekly flights between the UK and Yemen. Steps to tighten airport security follow a meeting between Britain’s military, intelligence, and border security chiefs, and talks between Brown and US President Obama.

Yup, the LEADERS of the New World Order!

And just so you get the point:

LONDON - Britain raised its terror threat alert to the second-highest level yesterday, one of several recent moves the country has made to increase vigilance against international terrorists after a Christmas Day bombing attempt on a Europe-US flight.

Yup, STAY the HELL OUT of BRITAIN!!!

The threat level was raised from “substantial’’ - where it had stood since July to indicate a strong possibility of a terrorist attack - to “severe,’’ meaning such an attack is considered highly likely.

So WHEN is the NEXT FALSE FLAG, MI6?

In making the announcement, Home Secretary Alan Johnson said the raised security level means that Britain is heightening its vigilance. He emphasized that there was no intelligence suggesting an attack is imminent....

Getting JERKED AROUND AGAIN, 'eh, Brits?

Johnson declined to say what intelligence the change was based on, or whether the move was related to the failed Christmas bombing attempt, when a young Nigerian named Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab allegedly tried to detonate a bomb hidden in his underwear during a flight from Amsterdam to Detroit. Abdulmutallab, who may be linked to extremists in Yemen, had studied as a university student in London. “It shouldn’t be thought to be linked to Detroit, or anywhere else for that matter,’’ Johnson said. “We never say what the intelligence is.’’

He said the decision to raise the threat level was made by the UK’s Joint Terrorism Analysis Center. He said the center kept the security threat level under constant review and made its judgments based on a range of factors, including the “intent and capabilities of international terrorist groups in the UK and overseas.’’ Earlier this week Britain suspended direct flights to Yemen’s capital in response to the growing threat from Al Qaeda-affiliated militants based there.

PFFFFFFFFFTTTT!!! All s***!!!!!

TOLEDO, Spain - US Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano sought yesterday to allay concerns in some European Union countries over the use of body scanners in airports to thwart terrorists, saying that as the technology develops the devices will be less intrusive.

“Some of the privacy issues that have been raised are dealt with effectively by the new iterations of the technology,’’ Napolitano said after meeting with EU interior ministers. She denied that the United States was pressuring Europe to deploy the scanners. “These meetings were not about the US requiring anything,’’ she said. The meeting did not address scanners specifically but instead with broader issues on advancing aviation security, she said.

And we should believe her and the newspaper because.... ?????

But she emphasized that better screening technology was one of several important elements for protecting travelers from terrorism. Al Qaeda “is using its best minds against the international aviation system,’’ she said. “We must do no less.’’

And THAT Nigerian fool was the BEST they could come up with?

HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!!

Thanks, Nappy, I NEEDED a GOOD LAUGH!!!!

Napolitano had been expected to press European countries to follow the Obama administration’s lead in ramping up aviation security after the failed plot to bomb a US airliner on Christmas Day.

But the EU is divided amid concerns over whether the devices invade travelers’ privacy and pose health risks.

Hey, but WHO CARES? It is NOT like the ELITES are having to go through it; there is a SEPARATE LINE and ENTRANCE for them, did you know that?

In an interview later, Napolitano said the United States would not pressure the European Commission to force reluctant member states to install scanners. “That is not for the United States to say. The United States is going to take action vis-a-vis its own domestic airports’’ and work with countries around the world to boost aviation security, she said. And scanners cannot be viewed as the be-all-end-all for keeping terrorists off planes, but as part of a system that also includes intelligence-gathering and sharing, passenger watch lists, and developing technology of all kinds, Napolitano said. “So if there is a failure at any single layer, there will be something else to catch it,’’ she said.

And CUI BONO, 'eh?

Have you notified the CIA not to hide anymore information from you, Jan?

Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba, interior minister for Spain, which holds the rotating EU presidency, said the EU needed to reach a common position on scanners.

"Bin Laden endorses Dec. plane bomb plot" by Jason Keyser, Associated Press | January 25, 2010

CAIRO - Osama bin Laden endorsed the failed attempt to blow up a US airliner on Christmas Day and threatened new attacks against the United States in an audio message released yesterday....

HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!

That the BEST YOU CAN DO, bin Laden?

Related: Breaking News: Bin Laden Warns West

Uh-huh!

But US officials and several researchers who track terrorist groups said there was no indication that bin Laden or any of his top lieutenants had anything to do with or even knew in advance of the Christmas plot.... The one-minute message was explicit in its threat of new attacks. Like the airline bombing plot, bin Laden said they would come in response to America’s support for Israel. “God willing, our raids on you will continue as long as your support for the Israelis continues,’’ bin Laden said in the recording, which was released to the Al-Jazeera news channel....

Yes, put your waist-high waders on, readers. The BS is going to get mighty thick!

The message, which White House officials said could not immediately be authenticated, raised again the question of how much of a link exists between Al Qaeda’s top leadership along the Afghan-Pakistani border and the handful of loosely affiliated groups operating in the Arabian Peninsula, North Africa, and Iraq. The Al Qaeda leader, who was last heard from in September, seemed intent on showing he remains more than an ideological figurehead, as most analysts have suggested he has become during the terror network’s evolution into decentralized offshoots. But some questioned whether Al Qaeda’s core leadership was involved. “They weren’t putting the final touches on this operation,’’ said Evan Kohlmann, a senior investigator for the New York-based NEFA Foundation, which researches Islamic militants.

And WITHOUT "terrorists" he's out of work, isn't he?

Still, the Saudi and Yemeni leaders of Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, which formed in Yemen a year ago, have a long history of direct personal contact with bin Laden. It is plausible that - if they were able to - they would have informed bin Laden of the airliner plot and sought his approval, Kohlmann said....

PFFFFFFTT!

The Yemen offshoot is largely self-sustaining, with its own theological figures, bomb makers, and a network for funneling in recruits. There was no way to verify the voice on the audio message was actually bin Laden’s, but US-based IntelCenter, which monitors militant messages, said the manner of the recording’s release, its content, and other factors indicated it was credible.

Oh, the IntelCenter, huh?
