Quick Zip Through Mississipp(i)

Moving faster than me, folks....

"Tornadoes tear through the South, killing 10 in Miss." by Holbrook Mohr, Associated Press | April 25, 2010

YAZOO CITY, Miss. — Tornadoes ripped through four states in the South yesterday, leaving broken crosses in front of a flattened church, splintering houses and overturning vehicles as they killed 10 people, including two children.

Governor Haley Barbour said there was “utter obliteration’’ in parts of Yazoo County, an area known for cotton, catfish, blues music, and picturesque hills rising abruptly from the flat Mississippi Delta.....

My prayers are with you, my fellow citizens.

I mean, the damage from Katrina hasn't even been cleaned up yet.

Well, we know what is important, don't we?

More than 15 other counties were also damaged. The swath of debris forced rescuers to pick up some of the injured on all-terrain vehicles in the west-central part of the state. Tornadoes were also reported in Louisiana, Arkansas, and Alabama, and the severe weather continued to track eastward....

Stunned residents stood on a hill overlooking the destruction. A National Guard helicopter sat nearby, and later took the governor on an aerial tour of the town he grew up in.

“Sad, man,’’ said 22-year-old Rafael Scott, shaking his head. “It’s really hard to believe it. I heard they found a couple of bodies.’’

Three broken crosses stood near a flattened church, and religious materials were scattered among twisted steel, broken wood, and furniture. A nearby funeral home was reduced to rubble. In a patch of woods, pieces of tin were twisted high up in the broken trees....

The severe weather darkened skies and dumped rain on the region, much of which was under a tornado watch or warning at some point during the day.

After what we had in March up here, you have our empathy, friends of the South.

In northeast Louisiana.... the storms also damaged a tank at a chemical plant in Tallulah, causing a small nitrogen leak.

Great. Must not be of great concern seeing as it got a whole sentence.

And LOOK what was LEFT on the CUTTING ROOM FLOOR!

The weather hampered crews trying to clean up an oil spill after an offshore rig exploded earlier last week off the coast of Louisiana. Several sporting events and festivals were rescheduled.

Yeah, seeing as government and MSM minimized that spill until today you would want to cut that, newspaper.

And those sports sure are important, huh?

More than a half-dozen tornado sightings were reported across the Eastern Plains on Friday, but there appeared to be no damage or injuries. A powerful spring storm dropped snow, sleet, and rain across much of Colorado, forming the tornadoes and snarling traffic.

Yeah, the AGENDA-PUSHING, FART-MISTING FRAUDS of the newspaper would not want you to know it SNOWED in APRIL -- even if it was Colorado!!!

Nothing funny or foolish about this:

"Storms blamed for 12 deaths; Ala., Miss. begin to rebuild" by Holbrook Mohr and Jay Reeves, Associated Press | April 26, 2010

YAZOO CITY, Miss. — At least 10 people were killed when the tornado ripped through the rural Mississippi countryside, and two deaths in Alabama have been blamed on storms there....

Hundreds of homes also were damaged in the storm, which carved a path of devastation from the Louisiana line to east-central Mississippi, and at least three dozen people were hurt. Rescuers spread out yesterday to find anyone who might be trapped, while survivors returned to demolished homes to salvage what they could and bulldoze the rubble.

National Weather Service meteorologist Marc McAlister said the tornado had winds of 160 miles an hour and left a path of destruction at least 50 miles long.

WOW!!!

“This tornado was enormous,’’ said Governor Haley Barbour....

I hate to say it, but it is almost as if God took that finger he used to dump the oil platform and dragged it across the southeast to emphasize how unhappy he has been lately.

"Miss. officials assess damage from storms that killed 12" by Associated Press | April 27, 2010

YAZOO CITY, Miss. — State officials yesterday were tallying the damages from the weekend tornado so they could ask for an emergency declaration from President Obama, along with federal funds to help clean up the mess.

The whole nation is a mess, and not just from natural disasters.

And prophecy says an earthquake is due in California next month!

The latest figures yesterday were grim: In Mississippi, 10 people were killed and 49 injured, and nearly 700 homes were damaged. Two other people died in storms in Alabama....

The storm system began in Louisiana before cutting a path some 150 miles long through Mississippi and continuing to Alabama.

That is 50 MILES WIDE, readers!!

Storm surveyors were working yesterday to determine whether the damage was caused by a single tornado or multiple twisters.

Some higher authority or cosmic power is definitely trying to get someone's attention.

National Weather Service meteorologist Ed Agre said tornado winds have been measured at 160 miles an hour along much of the path, with some areas hit with even stronger winds.

I expect that the MSM coverage will dwindle just as the tornadoes did.

Too many other issues to push like politics and "terrorists" -- although for the people who lived through it, it was terrifying.

And about that Katrina clean-up:

"Human rights group blasts US for post-Katrina actions" by Cain Burdeau, Associated Press | April 10, 2010

NEW ORLEANS — The US government and Gulf Coast states have consistently violated the human rights of hurricane victims since Hurricane Katrina killed about 1,800 people and caused widespread devastation after striking in August 2005, Amnesty International said yesterday.

And we LECTURE OTHERS!

The report, titled “Un-Natural Disaster,’’ said the treatment of hurricane victims and government actions in housing, health care, and policing have prevented poor minority communities from rebuilding and returning to their homes on the Gulf Coast.

In sum, government actions have amounted to human rights violations and “as a result, the demographics of the region are being permanently altered,’’ the report said.

They just can't help it; that is what GOVERNMENTS DO!

And that SECOND BIT is what they wanted!

No, incompetence doesn't wash anymore.

Amnesty took particular aim at New Orleans, where public housing was bulldozed, hospitals have been slow to reopen, and the criminal justice system has been plagued by police brutality, lengthy pretrial detentions, and an underfunded indigent defense system.

How does it feel to be a Palestinian, American?

“You have the demolition of most of the public housing units in New Orleans without a one-for-one replacement as well as a lack of rebuilding affordable rental housing,’’ said Justin Mazzola, an Amnesty researcher. “Orleans Parish Prison is now the largest mental health psych facility in the city of New Orleans.’’

Moira Mack, a White House spokeswoman, said the Obama administration had cut through the red tape that delayed assistance and improved coordination among agencies that often failed to collaborate in the years after the storms. She said the administration’s actions freed $2.4 billion in rebuilding money that had stalled for years.

It has been FIVE F***ING YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And THAT'S IT?

Banks got HUNDREDS of BILLIONS!!!!

Christina Stephens, a spokeswoman for Governor Bobby Jindal’s Louisiana Recovery Authority, said Louisiana had worked “diligently since the hurricanes to rebuild housing, restore critical infrastructure — including schools and health care facilities — and protect our citizens from future harm.’’

Another lying government official pushing s***.

And better be careful; got an OIL SLICK coming in.

New Orleans’ former public housing was being replaced with new mixed-income communities, she said. She said $1.2 billion has been set aside for rental housing. Staff for New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin did not return a message seeking comment.

The human rights group also criticized a plan by Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour to use $600 million in federal recovery money for a port in Gulfport. “I think Amnesty International has missed some details here,’’ said Dan Turner, a spokesman for Barbour. “Or shaded them to their advantage.’’

For example, he said there was more public housing on the Gulf Coast than before Katrina.

Amnesty urged Congress to amend the nation’s main disaster response legislation, the Stafford Act, to guarantee the humane and fair treatment of all disaster victims, as stipulated by the United Nation’s Guiding Principles on Internal Displacement.

"$2.6m awarded over corrosive drywall" by Associated Press | April 9, 2010

NEW ORLEANS — A New Orleans federal judge awarded seven Virginia families $2.6 million in damages yesterday for homes ruined by sulfur-emitting drywall made in China, a decision that could affect how lawsuits by thousands of other homeowners are settled.

It remains to be seen how the plaintiffs can collect from Chinese companies that do not have to respond to US courts, although some have talked about getting orders to seize US-bound ships and cargoes from the drywall companies.

Let's just MILITARIZE the WHOLE PLANET, f*** it!

Thousands of homeowners — mostly in Florida, Virginia, Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana — have reported problems with the drywall, which was imported in large quantities during the housing boom and after a string of Gulf Coast hurricanes. The drywall has been linked to corrosion of wiring, air conditioning units, computers, doorknobs, and jewelry, along with possible health effects.

Good thing you got that new health tax, 'er, plan the Democraps and Obomber forced on you, 'eh, 'murkn? Just looking out fer yer health!

US District Judge Eldon Fallon ruled yesterday that the drywall needs to be removed and the plaintiffs’ homes need to gutted because of corrosion. He said all electrical wiring, the heating and air conditioning systems, appliances, carpet, cabinetry, trim work, and flooring damaged by corrosion would have to be removed.

And WHO is going to PICK UP the TAB, huh?

Fallon’s decision was the first in a series of federal lawsuits brought against manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, and home builders by thousands of homeowners, all of them claims that Fallon is presiding over. Separately, thousands of plaintiffs are pursuing claims in state courts.

Yesterday’s ruling could set the standard for what needs to be done to make a tainted home fit to live in.

Then what about this, judge?

FEMA Seeks Immunity for Willful Negligence and Poisoning of Americans

But government is coming to help you(?).

Fallon’s guidelines went further than those put out by the Consumer Protection Safety Commission this month.

Leave it to a judge to go further than.... sigh.

The commission called for removing the tainted drywall, electrical wiring, fire alarm systems, and gas pipes....

I have a mighty large estimate here, ummm, any chance of a bailout?

Fallon’s ruling covered only property damage and did not look at possible health effects. The first cases with medical claims will not be considered by the court until late 2010 or early 2011.

How many names drop of the plaintiff list in the meantime because of health problems?

So what should you do, my dear fellow citizen.

"Gut Chinese drywall homes, agency says" by Associated Press | April 3, 2010

NEW ORLEANS — Thousands of US homes tainted by Chinese drywall should be gutted, according to new guidelines released yesterday by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The guidelines say electrical wiring, outlets, circuit breakers, fire alarm systems, carbon monoxide alarms, fire sprinklers, gas pipes, and drywall need to be removed.

“We want families to tear it all out and rebuild the interior of their homes, and they need to start this to get their lives started all over again,’’ said Inez Tenenbaum, chairwoman of the commission, the federal agency charged with making sure consumer products are safe.

So who is going to PAY FOR THAT?

And WhereTF were you and your agency when this s*** was pouring in, lady??

About 3,000 homeowners, mostly in Florida, Virginia, Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana, have reported problems with the drywall, imported from China in large quantities during the housing boom and after a string of Gulf Coast hurricanes. The drywall has been linked to corrosion of wiring, air conditioning units, computers, door knobs, and jewelry, along with possible health effects.

In addition to the UNBEARABLE STENCH!
