Korea Bar the Gates

Who wants an a**hole in their home?

"Cool response to N. Korea bid; Seoul demands apologies before beginning talks" by Hyung-Jin Kim, Associated Press / January 6, 2011

SEOUL — North Korea called yesterday for “unconditional and early’’ talks with rival South Korea to put an end to months of tensions. Seoul quickly dismissed the offer as insincere and said it is waiting for an apology for two deadly attacks blamed on Pyongyang.

I'm always for talking, and now you see how the U.S. empire and its satellites are the ones pushing war and blocking peace.

It’s rare for North Korea to issue such a statement addressed to South Korea and it came as the US envoy on the North was in the region to discuss the standoff. Earlier in the day, Stephen Bosworth sought to calm fears of conflict on the peninsula.

Bull!

Tensions between the two Koreas have been at their highest level in years since North Korea showered artillery on a South Korean-held island near their disputed maritime border in November, killing four South Koreans. The attack was the first on a civilian area since the 1950-53 Korean War, and occurred in waters not far from the spot where a torpedo sank a South Korean warship eight months earlier, killing 46 sailors.

That attack was also blamed on the North — an allegation Pyongyang vehemently denies.

Yeah, turns out it was a German weapon from a sub they sold Israel.

Cui bono?

As U.S. power in the region is fading and China's is growing... ?

But the North has made conciliatory moves. On New Year’s Day, the government issued a statement calling for warmer ties and the resumption of joint projects with South Korea.

Nothing is ever good enough for AmeriKa.

Pyongyang, eager for food and fuel assistance, has said it wants stalled talks, intended to exchange aid for nuclear disarmament, to restart....

Yeah, the other guy always has an ulterior motive while AmeriKa is all about altruism.

On Monday, President Lee Myung Bak of South Korea made clear that the door was open for talks with Pyongyang and that he was willing to enhance economic cooperation between the rivals.

Related:  "He also opened the door for peace talks. Still.... --more--"

Always a still, but, however, or whatever with the AmeriKan media.

Yesterday, North Korean officials responded with their own call for negotiations.

“We are ready to meet anyone, anytime and anywhere, letting bygones be bygones, if he or she is willing to go hands in hands with us,’’ said a statement carried by the North’s official Korean Central News Agency.

South Korea’s Unification Ministry immediately rebuffed the overtures late yesterday....

That's a good way to make peace.

Today, Bosworth is expected to ask China for insights into last month’s talks in Pyongyang between North Korean leader Kim Jong Il and Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo, Beijing’s top foreign policy official.

Related:  "China, North Korea’s closest ally, has come under increasing pressure from other nations and domestic critics to take a harder line toward the North....  --more--"

North Korea will be a key issue during a visit to Washington later this month by China’s president, Hu Jintao.

The subject of my next post.

And somehow the SOB got in!

"Gates warns of N. Korea missile threat to US; Says country able to attack within 5 years" by Elisabeth Bumiller and David E. Sanger, New York Times / January 12, 2011

Sigh.  I am so sick of the booga-booga when USrael is the TRUE THREAT to the world!!

BEIJING — Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates warned yesterday that North Korea is within five years of being able to strike the continental United States with an intercontinental ballistic missile and said that, combined with its expanding nuclear program, the country “is becoming a direct threat to the United States.’’

Anything to get a war going.

Gates is a former director of the CIA, and his statement, officials said, reflected both a new assessment by US intelligence officials and his own concern that Washington had consistently underestimated the pace at which the North was developing nuclear and missile technologies.

Those guys can't get a damn thing right!

Missed the collapse of the Soviet Union, said Iraq had WMD, and now this!

It is unclear how recent the new assessment may be, but Gates’s remarks, made just an hour after he met with Hu Jintao, China’s president, may have been partly intended to convince China that the Obama administration no longer regards the North as a concern only in the region....

Which means WE ARE COMING!  This BELLIGERENT WAR TALK is not the CHANGE for which I was hoping.

“The Chinese are always talking about their ‘core interests’ and threats they may have to respond to,’’ said one US official deeply involved in North Korea strategy. “They needed to hear that we have a few, too.’’

*****************

Gates said he nonetheless expected North Korea’s ability to be limited.

“I don’t think it’s an immediate threat,’’ Gates said.

Then WHY is this the WORLD LEAD of the DAY with GIG, BLARING HEADLINES!

The North might be able to launch a nuclear-capable missile that could cross the Pacific.

Then again they MIGHT NOT!

That has been a much-debated point for more than a decade and the subject of a lengthy study on missile threats conducted by Donald H. Rumsfeld before he became President George W. Bush’s first defense secretary.

Yes, the NEO-CON AGENDA ADVANCES AGAIN!

Un-flipping-believable!

Gates made his comments on the same day that China, in a show of force for the United States, apparently conducted the first test flight of its new stealth fighter jet.

Yeah, I have heard they have surpassed the U.S. in weapons technology.

The 15-minute flight occurred just hours before Gates met with Hu to talk about improving relations between the Chinese and US militaries and ways to reduce tensions during a nascent arms buildup between the two countries.

Then why is my government and corporate media blaming China for all our troubles?

Gates’s new assessment on North Korea is a significant shift for the Obama administration....

Into WAR PROPAGANDA MODE!

Anything to take American minds of the looting of the nation by Wall Street, war-profiteers, and self-serving politicians.

North Korea has a long history of missile trade with Iran, Syria, and Pakistan, among other nations, and is believed to have provided the technology for Syria to build a nuclear reactor.

There is your Zionist war agenda at work!

The reactor was destroyed in a September 2007 air raid by Israel.

Zionist amerikan MSM Does Quick Shuffle and Swivel on Syria

Notice how it is the agenda-pushing, war-promoting lies that stick in AmeriKa's newspapers.

But Gates changed that emphasis, by focusing on the North’s capability to aim its small arsenal at the United States....

And the mouthpiece AmeriKan media handed him the megaphone.

And if they ever sent one over we would literally turn the nation into a big missile pit for nuclear bombs -- and the Koreans know it.

"In Japan, Gates discusses Korea, base" by Associated Press / January 14, 2011

TOKYO — US Defense Secretary Robert Gates asked for Japan’s help yesterday in heading off a crisis with North Korea, while easing US pressure on its Asian ally over the huge American military bases on its territory.

We finally coming home?

South Korea would be within its rights to retaliate if North Korea mounts an attack, Gates said, but the United States, Japan, South Korea, and China should try to prevent North Korean from provoking a war....

Of course, a false flag might get the job done. Hard to tell these days; too many people in the world have been clued in.

Earlier this week Gates lobbied China to pressure the North not to go too far. Gates will go to South Korea today for a quick and hastily arranged crisis session about the North. The United States wants Japan to expand nascent military ties with South Korea and present a unified front against North Korea.

Boom boom boom boom.

Hear the war drums, readers?

The United States fears the risk of war is rising between US ally South Korea and the heavily militarized and increasingly unpredictable regime in North Korea, which the Pentagon also considers a looming threat to the US mainland....

I'm sorry, government and media. I am all worn out on lying war propaganda.

Besides, it is OUR REGIME HERE in AmeriKa (and that of its master, Israel) that is HEAVILY MILITARIZED and INCREASINGLY UNPREDICTABLE!

Gates said little about the US military bases in Japan, but he showed flexibility on an issue that badly divided the United States and Japan last year.

Wait until you see the media's version of "flexibility."

He said the United States would be patient while Japanese political leaders try to blunt popular opposition to the continued presence of Marines and loud aircraft on crowded Okinawa island....

I would LAUGH if it were not so ARROGANT and TRAGIC!

Yeah, "flexibilIty" is YOU JAPANESE LACKEYS SERVING US and NOT YOUR OWN PEOPLE!!

And while we are in Japan:

"Fiscal hawk is named Japan economic chief; He favors hike in nation’s sales tax" by Hiroko Tabuchi,
New York Times / January 15, 2011

TOKYO — Prime Minister Naoto Kan of Japan chose a longtime fiscal conservative as his economics chief in a Cabinet reshuffle yesterday, signaling a renewed commitment to efforts to rein in the country’s public debt.

Japan’s new minister in charge of economic and fiscal policy, Kaoru Yosano, is an advocate of raising Japan’s 5 percent sales tax to finance the country’s growing social welfare spending and tackle its public debt, the highest in the industrialized world....

Kan also appointed Yosano’s predecessor, Banri Kaieda, as trade minister. Kaieda, a supporter of free trade, has said he favored joining a US-led, pan-Pacific free trade initiative, despite opposition from Japanese farmers.

Once again ANOTHER JAPANESE GOVERNMENT in our f***ing back pocket!

The Cabinet reshuffle comes amid falling support for Kan’s government, as he struggles to shore up Japan’s recovery from its worst recession in decades. You would think the elites would start getting the message.

When you DO NOT DO WHAT the VOTERS and PEOPLE WANT we get ANGRY!!!!

But data suggested Japan’s economy might have again contracted last quarter as stimulus measures ran out and a strong yen weighed on the earnings of companies that depend on exports....

Translation: there NEVER WAS a RECOVERY!

Yeah, THEY are the ONLY GROUP that MADE OUT during the GRAND DEPRESSION!

Meanwhile, the weak dollar is sending prices through the roof here in the U.S. (gas pumps up a nickel or so every day) and killing American purchasing power.

Japan’s public debt is set to exceed twice the size of its $5 trillion economy this year and reach 210 percent of its gross domestic product in 2012, the highest among countries tracked by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

Translation: the Japanese are hopelessly in debt and will never be able to repay it.

Time to START ANOTHER WORLD WAR!

Always WORKED in the PAST, right?!

Social security costs, which have risen sharply in the past decade as Japan’s population ages, account for more than half of Japan’s government spending.

Better that than empire.

Kan has sought talks on tax and social welfare reform.

Like all governments they want higher taxes with less services -- so banks can get the money.
