Haitian Miracle

You can take it to heart:

“Any way that I can give back and raise awareness for Haiti and heart conditions, especially in athletes. There have been a lot of stories about kids who were playing and dropped dead. That’s something that really touched me deeply. I feel like Haiti saved my life.”

UPDATE:

"Mayor Martin J. Walsh announced Friday that the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture will feature new works of art by Colette Bresilla of East Boston. Her exhibition “Borderless Bird” is about Bresilla’s experiences as a Haitian-American, the mayor’s office said in a statement. Bresilla said she concentrates on the female figure and tries to explore the traditional conceptions of women and how to break those boundaries. “The drawings and lush paintings convey the undeniable realities of women’s struggles across national and cultural boundaries,” Bresilla said."
