"Right-wing party gains in UK; Takes more votes than expected in local elections" by Stephen Castle | New York Times May 24, 2014
LONDON — The populist UK Independence Party made sweeping gains in local elections in Britain, according to preliminary results released Friday, shaking the country’s political establishment and leaving its mainstream parties scrambling for a response.
I'm waiting for the framing label and name-calling from the whoreporate pre$$. Next $hoe to drop.
The right-wing party took far more votes than expected from the two parties in the center-right coalition government and from the opposition Labor Party, and won at least 150 local council seats; it held two before.
Well, it appears that the British people have also had enough of their banker-controlled government.
Though the UK Independence Party has yet to gain a seat in the national Parliament, its leader, Nigel Farage, said it was now “a serious player.”
“The UKIP fox is in the Westminster henhouse,” he said Friday.
The voting Thursday coincided with elections for Britain’s representatives in the European Parliament. Though those results will not be announced until Sunday night, they appeared likely to reflect similar sweeping gains for Farage’s party.
The senior partner in the governing coalition, the center-right Conservative Party led by Prime Minister David Cameron, lost more than 180 council seats across Britain and lost its majority in at least 11 of the 32 councils it had controlled. The junior partner, the centrist Liberal Democrats, fared even worse, losing more than one-third of the seats it formerly held.
Is that ever a statement or what? Validates most of what I have believed within the political pri$m and confines of the frame-the-debate pre$$. Republicans are bad; Democrats are wor$e now! It's all fringe, but at least Republicans hold to a few principles; Democrat sell-outs are much more obvious, and the vote reflects it. Democrats were given their chance, and they failed mi$erably.
That's not to say Republican or Conservative rule is any better, likely it's a lot worse, but it advances the political fooley show of change while allowing the people to feel they influenced policy.
And the oligarchs that call the $hots call it democracy!
The Labor Party, which already had the most council seats, gained more new ones than the UK Independence Party did, and the populists did not appear to have won majority control of any council. But the UK Independence Party’s inroads came not just in traditionally conservative areas but also in Labor strongholds in the north, spreading alarm through all three of the major national parties.
Oh, I'll bet! The vote SENT FEAR INTO OUR LEADERS and RULERS because WE ALL SEE WHAT SCUM they are now and $EE what has happened ALL AROUND US!
I'm here typing, but I'm ready to join a riot if one breaks out. I won't encourage anything, I won't initiate action. I'm not going to stop people, though. Too bad the greedy, $elfi$h, money-hungry f***s running this world are blind, deaf and dumb to the people. Must be all the ca$h stuffed in their ears.
When we get up to the mansions and the palaces we are going to fill a whole bunch of their other holes full of money, too. I think it would be an appropriate thing; stuff 'em with that they love so much! Shove it in 'em!!!!!!!!!!
With its demand for a curb on immigration and a British withdrawal from the European Union, the UK Independence Party has capitalized on the discontent felt by voters after years of financial crisis and austerity.
And the "main$tream" political parties are stunned by this?
And by presenting itself as an alternative to the mainstream political elite, the party is making headway in its drive to upend the country’s political system.
I want to take a minute to APPLAUD the BRITISH PEOPLE!
Thank you, first service.
That seemed implausible eight years ago when Cameron, newly elected as Conservative Party leader but not yet in power, described the populist party as “a bunch of fruitcakes, loonies, and closet racists.”
You know, it's funny; the name-calling falls off my back and is a badge of honor now. As for implausible things eight years ago, the top of my list was still sitting here typing. This blogging thing was not supposed to last until the day I die.
Farage, who has cultivated a jovial, straight-talking image, appeared on television Friday in a well-tailored suit and celebrating with a pint of beer.
As opposed to all the scripted and staged imagery and illusions surrounding our benevolent "main$tream" leaders who endlessly pine for war against the next enemy!
I've always wondered why the earth is such a shit hole for the most of us after three decades or more of benevolent corporate rule? Or was it all a lie so the loot could be stolen? I mean, look where we are now.
For the moment, the UK Independence Party’s gains have not translated into direct political power, because its support is spread around the country, rather than dominating a particular area.
Translation: it was a rigged election, and populist gains were massive. This is how the authorities who count the machined votes explain it all.
The country’s electoral system puts such smaller parties at a distinct disadvantage.
In other words, it's as bought off as the AmeriKan $y$tem. They have an AIPAC, too? EIPAC?
“UKIP should be extremely pleased with themselves,” said Tim Bale, a professor of politics at Queen Mary University of London. “But they still face this enormous hurdle of the electoral system, which is going to make it very difficult for them to convert even this level of support into parliamentary seats in 2015.”
It is not clear whether the party can sustain its current support. The populists won 16 percent of the national vote in the European Parliament elections of 2009, only to see their share slump to 3.1 percent in the national election the following year.
Prepare for another rigging along with a demonization campaign in the interim, at least in my propaganda pre$$.

Turns out it is not just England that is unhappy with the social and economic $y$tem designed by our overlords:
"A wave of discontent in Europewide election" by Griff Witte and Anthony Faiola | Washington Post May 23, 2014
LONDON — Millions of Europeans still feeling the hangover of a prolonged economic slump began voting Thursday in a four-day, 16,000-candidate election that is intended to draw the continent together but is almost certain to strengthen those seeking to pull it apart.
Although parties on the center-right and the center-left are expected to hold on to their majority in the European Parliament, those on the extremes are poised for a substantial boost, with voters rallying to the message of blaming Brussels for years of high unemployment and sluggish growth.
I was told they didn't get anything, and seriously, the meeting was in Brussels?
The election, held every five years, gives voters their only direct say in who governs the 28-member European Union. It comes as Europe struggles to remain united amid a major security challenge posed by Russia’s meddling in Ukraine and a continuing economic malaise that has forced the continent to bind together more tightly than ever before.
I had to see who wrote this pos before I commented, and now it becomes clear. The architects of the thing are binding together because most of the people want OUT of the EU! The crafty "journalist" also tries to divert you with war talk!
But if the prescription for economic recovery has been ever-closer integration, large numbers of voters are rejecting the medicine, choosing parties that preach national sovereignty over shared decision-making.
I love the IF because it means NOT -- especially in the context of a report where that word should not be used. It's a hallmark of hack.
The internalization of globalist values is also stunning coming from one of the top AmeriKan papers. We won't "take our medicine," as it were.

Why Am I No Longer Reading the Newspaper?
Oh, actually, I retract that last bit of analysis. Now the whole thing is perfectly understandable.
‘‘It’s a populist backlash against a technocratic project,’’ said Mark Leonard, director of the European Council on Foreign Relations. ‘‘The mainstream parties have been complicit in what’s happening with the EU, and now voters want to give them a bloody nose.’’
That's not it. They are simply registering their disapproval at $cum leaders everywhere. Don't implicate or label us as violent, CFR f***!!!!!!!!!!
Public opinion polls suggest that they will do exactly that, with parties that are hostile toward Europe shown winning between a quarter and a third of seats in the 751-member Parliament. Voting began Thursday in Britain and the Netherlands, and it will continue across the continent through Sunday, with results expected late that evening.
Part of Europe, but hostile towards Europe!
SIGH!
You forgot UNION!
What $hit pre$$!!!!!
And they wonder why their whole indu$try is cratering!
Parties on the far right and the far left are not expected to do well enough to advance their legislation or to create gridlock in a body where bills can pass with a simple majority.
So nothing has changed despite the votes for change.
Looks like the only place left is the streets.
But the vote could hold ramifications for domestic politics in some countries and bring a sense of political instability back to the region.
Something bankers hate!
It could also influence the choice of European Commission president, which the Parliament will have to approve for the first time.
If, could, but, still, yet....
According to the polls, anti-establishment parties are doing particularly well in countries suffering the worst aftereffects of Europe’s debt crisis, with a toxic cocktail of high unemployment and austerity poisoning voters on politics as usual.
That is EVERY COUNTRY in EUROPE!
It's been WEALTH CONCENTRATION at the TOP the LAST FIVE YEARS, and that goes for the WORLD as well as the U.S.!!
In countries such as Greece, Italy and, to some extent, even France, the voter backlash is also apparently aimed at the German economic leadership in the region — particularly over Berlin’s push for balanced budgets among its economically weaker neighbors.
Yeah, turn the wrath against Germany!! We have SEEN THIS MOVIE BEFORE, and I'm not even going to mention the guy today.
Germany is on the hot seat because they don't want to back the endless bailouts and usurious IMF/World Bank deals that will destroy its economy.
‘‘Underpinning this vote is a sense of economic insecurity, rising unemployment, social benefits being cut, and a shrinking public sector even as you have seen migration waves in some countries,’’ said Wolfango Piccoli of the political risk assessment firm Teneo Intelligence. ‘‘These anti-establishment parties are able to capitalize on this insecurity.’’
How can all those things still be happening after we have been told by the whoreporate pre$$ five years of economic recovery that is gaining steam, blah, blah, f***ing, blah?
The anti-establishment wave isn’t limited to Europe’s struggling south; the stronger economies of the north have felt it, too. In Germany, for instance, the Alternative for Germany party launched last year and advocates that economically weaker countries such as Greece should pull out of the euro zone, or that Germany should if they don’t.
Yeah, it's EVERYONE and EVERYWHERE!

So WHO is ISRAEL ABOUT READY TO ATTACK, 'eh!
"Jewish Museum attack in Brussels leaves 3 dead" by Andrew Higgins | New York Times May 25, 2014
BRUSSELS — An unidentified gunman opened fire Saturday at the Jewish Museum in the center of Brussels, killing at least three people in what officials said appeared to have been an anti-Semitic attack.
Real or another staged and scripted hoax?
Belgium’s interior minister, JoĆ«lle Milquet, told RTL television that two women and a man died in the attack and a fourth person was seriously wounded.
The gunman, apparently alone, fled in a car that had been double-parked outside the museum, on a cobblestone street near the Place du Grand Sablon, a large square lined with luxury chocolate shops and high-end antiques dealers.
Another lone gunman!!
Local news media reported that one person had been arrested, but officials did not confirm an arrest.
HMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!
Deputy Prime Minister Didier Reynders, who was in the neighborhood at the time of the attack, told Belgian television that he heard gunfire, rushed to the scene, and was “shocked to see bodies lying on the ground.”
He said investigators still had to determine the motive for the shooting, but added that the fact it took place at the Jewish Museum indicated an “anti-Semitic attack.” He said a witness saw the license plate of the gunman’s car and reported it to police.
Maurice Sosnowski, a leader of Belgium’s Jewish community, described Saturday’s shooting as the first act of anti-Semitic terrorism in the Belgian capital since World War II and compared it to a 2012 shooting that killed four people at a Jewish school in the French city of Toulouse.

Nor are we anymore. Sorry.
Saturday’s shooting occurred on the eve of elections in Belgium for both the national legislature and the European Parliament. Far-right groups, some of which are tainted by a history of anti-Semitism, are expected to perform well in voting for the European legislature, which began Thursday in Britain and the Netherlands and comes to an end Sunday in other members of the 28-nation European Union.
They are tainted by something all right.
In Belgium and most other European countries, however, anti-Semitism has in recent years been rooted more on the left and in Muslim immigrant communities than on the right, according to a survey last year by a European Union agency that monitors discrimination.
It depends on WHAT ENEMY is NEEDED at a GIVEN TIME! That's what all the staged and scripted imagery and illusion of a hoax or false flag is for.
The survey by the Fundamental Rights Agency found that 77 percent of Belgian Jews consider anti-Semitism a very big or fairly big problem. Out of eight countries surveyed, only France and Hungary had higher levels of anti-Semitism.
What a shock.
Raya Kalenova, executive vice president of the European Jewish Congress, a group based in Brussels, said anti-Semitism had grown much worse in Belgium over the past decade, in part because of a rise in hostility toward Israel, and added that the authorities had often ignored the danger.
And THERE YOU GO! The LINKING of JEWS to ISRAEL and ITS POLICIES! The conflation of Judaism with Israel to provide that link in your mind between them. Never mind that ZIONISM is a PURELY POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY!
Anyway, I WILL ACCEPT THAT PARALLEL and HOLD ALL JEWS RESPONSIBLE for the CONDUCT of a FEW WAR CRIMINAL SCUM LEADERS!
Got what you wanted?
“The spirit of the Jewish people, the Jewish community, here in Belgium is really very, very low,” she said in a telephone interview. “They do not even report anti-Semitic attacks. They feel that it is useless to report, and they do not feel protected. For sure, the general atmosphere is not good here in Belgium, especially because of anti-Israeli sentiment.”
Oh, man, now it is being equated with ANTI-ISRAELI SENTIMENT -- meaning if you DISAGREE with ANYTHING ISRAEL DOES you are an ANTI-SEMITE!
Oh, btw, you guys gotta stop screaming that so loud because ARABS are ALSO SEMITES!
And since I admire and respect them, there is no way in the world I can be an anti-Semite.
WHO decided that SEMITISM was an EXCLUSIVE PROVINCE of JEWS anyway?
This month, authorities banned opponents of Israel from holding a conference in Brussels that Jewish groups condemned as anti-Semitic.
It doesn't say they were antisemitic groups or anything, notice that. Just the conference and free speech was banned because Jews wanted it that way. And they wonder why we see their disproportionate influence everywhere?
The conference, known as the European Congress of Rebellion, had been organized by a far-right member of the Belgian Parliament.
Ooooh, okay!
At the time of Saturday’s shooting at the Jewish Museum, pro-Palestinian groups were holding a concert and political rally on the other side of Brussels in Parc du Cinquantenaire.
Oh, and attention was certainly taken away from that. Probably had to be broken up due to security concerns.
This WHOLE EVENT is STARTING TO SMELL of a FALSE FLAG at best, a scripted and staged hoax at worst!
Pierre Galand, the head of the Belgian-Palestine Association, interrupted speeches criticizing Israel and its occupation of Palestinian territory to request a minute of silence for the victims of the shooting. He denounced the attack.
Need I type it?
And know what?
By the time you have reached the end of the article there is no thought of an unidentified gunman(??!!) whose license plate was seen. It's all poor, persecuted, put-upon Jews! Waa, waa!

They are no longer looking for the sailors:
"Coast Guard calls off search for sailors missing from yacht" by Jacqueline Tempera | Globe correspondent May 23, 2014
The US Coast Guard suspended the search for four British sailors whose yacht disappeared 1,000 miles east of Cape Cod, after the boat was located Friday afternoon with no sign of the missing crew, the Coast Guard said.
The USS Oscar Austin, a Navy guided missile destroyer based in Norfolk, Va., found the hull Friday afternoon within its search area. It had previously been spotted on May 17, said Petty Officer MyeongHi Clegg, a Coast Guard spokeswoman in Boston.
A surface swimmer knocked on the side of the yacht, but no one responded, Clegg said.
The swimmer saw the name of the yacht on the hull and verified that it was the Cheeki Rafiki, the missing yacht, Clegg said.
Search planners confirmed that the boat’s life raft was secured in its storage space in the boat, indicating the crew did not use it .
Crews will not remove the hull from the ocean. That would be up to the families of the sailors, said Petty Officer Robert Simpson, also a Coast Guard spokesman.
The discovery came as teams continued to search a vast expanse of ocean.
By Friday night, search efforts had covered approximately 25,ooo square miles, the Coast Guard said in a statement.
Is that more than 25,000 square miles? I know it's a close by typo, but us bloggers get ripped over the coals by the propaganda pre$$ for stuff like that.
The 39-foot Cheeki Rafiki capsized late last week. Aboard were four “experienced offshore sailors” — Andrew Bridge, 22, James Male, 23, Paul Goslin, 56, and Steve Warren, 52. The men were headed to Britain from the Antigua Sailing Week regatta on May 15 when they reported the boat was taking on water from a leak.
The search first began about 12:30 a.m. on May 16.
At about noon May 17, the crew of the freighter Maersk Kure spotted what appeared to be the hull.
The search was called off at 5 a.m. Sunday in what the Coast Guard called a difficult decision based on its calculation of the men’s chances of survival.
And yet they are still looking for a plane in the South Indian Sea.
A public outcry ensued in Britain, with people hoping that the four men had been able to get on a lifeboat before their boat sank.
The search resumed Tuesday after a request by the British government and was suspended again at 10 p.m. Friday.

I wonder hope that Malaysian search is going.
