"Maine mother says twin infants in assault case are recovering
The mother of twin infants in Sanford, Maine, said the babies are getting better after their father’s arrest on charges that he assaulted them. WCSH-TV has reported that the twins’ mother said one baby was taken to an optometrist, who determined the child is not blind. The station reported that the other infant is also recovering. Authorities have said the children’s injuries are consistent with being struck and shaken. Their father, Anthony Carpinelli, made his first court appearance last week via video from York County Jail. He is charged with aggravated assault on a child and is allowed no contact with the children or their mother."
