It's the strange undertow of a feeling I get when I see war criminals who caused so much suffering memorialize those same dead.
"Attack on Serbian leader mars Srebrenica ceremony; Vucic’s presence meant as attempt at fence-mending" by Aida Cerkez Associated Press July 11, 2015
SREBRENICA, Bosnia-Herzegovina — A crowd of furious Bosnian Muslims jumped over fences and attacked Serbia’s prime minister with stones and water bottles on Saturday, marring the 20th anniversary commemorations of the Srebrenica massacre.
Gee, they really are everywhere!
Aleksandar Vucic, a former ultranationalist during the Balkan wars but who is now a moderate with a pro-Western stance, escaped serious injury. He said he was hit in the face with a rock as the crowds chanted ‘‘Kill, Kill’’ and ‘‘Allahu akbar,’’ the Arabic phrase for ‘‘God is great.’’
Yeah, if you join the right side after the war there will be no war crimes charges.
The scenes overshadowed what was supposed to be a day of reflection and remembrance for the 8,000 Muslim men and boys slaughtered at the hands of Serb forces in the eastern Bosnian town of Srebrenica. Two UN courts ruled that the killings constituted genocide.
Vucic is among the most hated individuals for Bosnian Muslims, with some viewing him in worse terms than late strongman Slobodan Milosevic.
I'll mention him a little below.
During the 1992-95 Bosnian war, Vucic was an ultranationalist politician in opposition to Milosevic, criticizing the Serb leader of leniency toward Bosnian Muslims.
Many Bosnian Muslims also still remember Vucic’s incendiary statement during the Balkan wars that for every dead Serb, 100 Muslims should be killed. Some in the crowd held a banner with the quote to remind him of his past.
That is the kind of thing Zionists say about Palestinians.
Vucic’s security detail rushed him away, trying to protect him with bags, umbrellas, and their raised arms from the projectiles raining down. His guards shoved through the angry crowd before pushing the prime minister inside an armored vehicle.
‘‘We were attacked from all sides. It was well organized and prepared,’’ a visibly shaken Vucic said upon his quick return to Serbia. He blamed hooligan soccer groups from Serbia and Bosnia for initiating the attack.
(Blog editor snorts)
Vucic, who came to represent Serbia at the commemoration in an apparent gesture of reconciliation, said after the attack that, ‘‘Today we are talking more about a bunch of fools rather than about the innocent victims of Srebrenica.’’ He added that his ‘‘arms of reconciliation remain stretched toward the Bosniaks.’’
Serbia’s foreign ministry sent a protest note to Bosnia, saying the attack was a murder attempt against Vucic and urged that the culprits be caught.
Although the crowd booed Vucic’s arrival, Srebrenica widows and mothers welcomed his presence.
‘‘Only on truth we can build a future. You cannot deny the truth,’’ Kada Hotic, who lost her son and husband in the massacre, told Vucic before the ceremony.
That's true.
The Muslim Bosniak mayor of Srebrenica, Camil Durakovic, apologized to Vucic, saying he was ‘‘deeply disappointed’’ about the attack.
Tens of thousands of people came to the commemorations marking two decades since Europe’s worst massacre since the Holocaust. Foreign dignitaries urged the international community not to allow such atrocities to happen again and to call the crime ‘‘genocide.’’
You take a look around the planet and you sigh as the agenda jus pushed again. Holocausts™ are happening all over the place, mostly instigated by the EUSraeli Empire that fought the Nazis.
Serbia and Bosnian Serbs deny the killings were genocide, and claim that the death toll has been exaggerated.
That very well could be. It's not beneath the Zionist media to use this for image purposes. You know, Muslim victims and all. Since the Serbs were demonized it now deserves a second look.
Dozens of foreign dignitaries attended — including former President Bill Clinton, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Britain’s Princess Anne, and Jordan’s Queen Noor.
Yeah, when you get a crowd like that together.
‘‘I grieve that it took us so long to unify . . . to stop this violence,’’ said Clinton, who was in office at the time of the massacre and whose administration led the NATO airstrikes against Serb positions that ended the Bosnian war.
Before the attack, Clinton praised Vucic for attending.
This is the same guy who ordered the dropping depleted uranium bombs on Serbia for 78 days for their recalcitrance regarding the break-up of Yugoslavia.
Have you noticed that wherever the empire goes they shatter larger states into smaller units of disorder? It's almost like a plan.

"UN officials label 1995 slaughter in Srebrenica genocide" by Edith M. Lederer Associated Press July 02, 2015
UNITED NATIONS — Western nations and Russia may be dueling over whether the UN Security Council should call the Srebrenica massacre during the Bosnian war an act of genocide, but at Wednesday’s General Assembly commemoration of the 20th anniversary of Europe’s worst mass killing since World War II there was no doubt.
Secretary General Ban Ki-moon called the killing of more than 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys genocide. So did Serge Brammertz, the prosecutor of the UN tribunal overseeing cases against Srebrenica suspects, and US Ambassador Samantha Power, who was in Bosnia as a freelance journalist at the time of the mass killings in July 1995.
So what do you call the murder of millions of Afghans and Iraqis due to EUSraeli aggression, as well as the hundreds of thousands of others across the planet?
These people are so hypocritical it's sickening.
But it was Adisada Dudic who brought tears to some, including Rabbi Arthur Schneier, a Holocaust survivor, when she described fleeing her home near Srebrenica as a child with memories of ‘‘fear, bloodshed, and fire,’’ and her family’s hope that remains of loved ones will be found, including an uncle last seen running into the forest to escape the slaughter.
That's why the Zionist media is flogging this; brings up indelible images of conventional myths seared across generations by propagandist protocols.
‘‘Calling what happened in Srebrenica by any name other than genocide, be it massacre, tragedy, catastrophe, whatever else, not only thwarts the possibility of reconciliation, it bolsters those denying the genocide and leading the secession efforts’’ by Bosnian Serbs, Dudic said. ‘‘It trivializes the pain and suffering of genocide victims. It revictimizes the survivors, and it minimizes the enormity of the crime.’’
I'm not doing anything of the sort, I'm simply pointing out scale and a certain select focus by my lying, war-promoting pre$$.
Bosnia’s UN Ambassador, Mirsada Colakovic, who presided over the commemoration, called denial ‘‘the last stage of genocide.’’
That is a charged term they like to throw at people who question the official version of anything.
It’s ‘‘a kind of double-killing in which the victims are first murdered, then the memory of the horrible deeds themselves is being destroyed,’’ she said.
Why did the Confederate flag just wave across my mind?
The commemoration took place against a backdrop of intense opposition from Bosnian Serbs and Serbia to any mention of genocide in a UN Security Council resolution marking the 20th anniversary of the Srebrenica killings. Serbia’s Prime Minister, Aleksandar Vucic, has called it ‘‘a big horrific crime’’ but refuses to call it a genocide.
He will get his.
Britain has circulated a draft resolution that ‘‘condemns in the strongest terms the genocide in Srebrenica.’’ It recalls that the Yugoslav war crimes tribunal in 2004 and the International Court of Justice in 2007 both determined that the mass killings were genocide.
Britain’s UN Ambassador Matthew Rycroft, a former envoy to Bosnia, told the packed chamber that the United Nations’ failure to protect innocent civilians in what had been designated a UN safe area ‘‘still haunts this organization.’’
They do that all over the place. Just as Africans (or Haitians).
He said the resolution that the Security Council will consider next week doesn’t seek ‘‘to bring up painful divisions nor point the finger of blame.’’ It will commemorate the victims, show solidarity with survivors, and call for reconciliation.
Russia, which has close religious ties to Serbia, has circulated a rival draft resolution that doesn’t mention either Srebrenica or genocide.
Russia’s deputy UN ambassador Petr Iliichev on Tuesday called the British draft ‘‘divisive,’’ saying it focuses on ‘‘only one part of the conflict.’’

"Service held to remember 8,000 Srebrenica massacre victims" Associated Press July 07, 2015
LONDON — Days before the 20th anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre, hundreds of Bosnians and Britons attended a memorial service Monday in Westminster Abbey to remember the more than 8,000 male Muslim victims.
The service was one of dozens of events in Britain this week to mark 20 years since the July 11-13, 1995, massacre — Europe’s worst mass killing since World War II. Bosnian Serbs rounded up men and boys in Srebrenica after taking over the town, killing most of the victims and burying their bodies in mass graves.
‘‘We must never, ever forget what happened at Srebrenica,’’ British Prime Minister David Cameron said before the service. ‘‘We must reaffirm our determination to act to prevent genocide in the future.’’
By committing genocide with military force.
These war criminal leaders....
The service was attended by Bakir Izetbegovic, the Muslim Bosniak member of Bosnia’s tripartite presidency.
Britain has proposed a draft UN Security Council resolution that would call the Srebrenica massacre genocide. Serbia and Russia, a permanent Security Council member with veto power, strongly oppose that description.

"Russia vetoes UN resolution calling Srebrenica a genocide" Associated Press July 09, 2015
UNITED NATIONS — Russia on Wednesday vetoed a UN Security Council resolution that would have condemned a 1995 massacre of Muslims during the Bosnian war as a ‘‘crime of genocide,’’ with its envoy saying that singling out the Bosnian Serbs for a war crime would create greater division in the Balkans.
You know, between Ukraine and the rest, it's time for war on Russia, right?
Two international courts have used the term genocide to describe the slaughter by Bosnian Serbs of some 8,000 Muslim men and boys who had sought refuge at what was supposed to be a UN-protected site in Srebrenica.
Yeah, if I'm not mistaken the Dutch protection squad basically stepped aside and moved down thee road.
But Russian UN Ambassador Vitaly Churkin objected to focusing only on Srebrenica, calling the resolution ‘‘confrontational and politically motivated,’’ and stressing that Bosnian Serbs and Croats had also suffered during the 1992-95 war in which at least 100,000 people were killed.
Britain drafted the resolution to mark the 20th anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre on Tuesday, but the vote was delayed to address Russian concerns.
The defeated resolution states that acceptance of ‘‘the tragic events at Srebrenica as genocide is a prerequisite for reconciliation,’’ and ‘‘condemns denial of this genocide as hindering efforts towards reconciliation.’’
Russia hindering efforts at reconciliation.
Britain’s deputy ambassador to the UN, Peter Wilson, stressed the resolution ‘‘did not point fingers of blame, score political points, nor seek to reopen political divisions.’’ It also didn’t link the crimes at Srebrenica to the Serb people, and recognized there were victims on all sides, he said.
The vote was 10 countries in favor, Russia’s no, and four abstentions — China, Nigeria, Angola, and Venezuela.
What, they don't like how the West has been treating them? Or worried the same charges may come at them?

Time to pay tribute:
"Bosnian Muslims pay tribute to Srebrenica victims" Associated Press July 10, 2015
SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina — Thousands lined Sarajevo’s main street Thursday as a huge truck bearing 136 coffins passed on its way to Srebrenica, where newly identified victims of Europe’s worst massacre since World War II will be buried on the 20th anniversary of the crime.
As the truck, covered with a huge Bosnian flag and with hundreds of flowers tucked into the canvas, rolled down the street covered with white rose petals, the sobbing of mothers, sisters, and wives of the victims broke the silence.
It stopped in front of Bosnia’s presidential building, where the weeping crowd tucked more flowers into the canvas or simply approached it to touch it or caress the canvas that was hiding the remains of the victims found in mass graves and identified through DNA analysis.
On July 11, 1995, Serb troops overran the eastern Bosnian Muslim enclave of Srebrenica and executed some 8,000 Muslim men and boys. International courts labeled the crime an act of genocide.
The remains of Srebrenica victims are still being found in mass graves. So far about 7,000 victims have been excavated from 93 graves or collected from 314 surface locations, then identified by DNA.
Edin Nuhic, who lost several relatives in the massacre, has not yet found the remains of all of them. ‘‘All we can do is to think about them, remember them, and hope that one day this country will find a way to move on,’’ he said.
In Srebrenica, organizers expect some 50,000 people to attend the funeral along with international delegations.
The United States, which brokered Bosnia’s peace agreement that ended the country’s war after it claimed 100,000 victims, will be represented by a delegation led by former president Bill Clinton.

Now about Milosevic and Srebrenica:
"In March 2002, Milosevic presented the Hague tribunal with FBI documents proving that the United States government and NATO provided financial and military support for Al-Qaeda
to aid the Kosovo Liberation Army in its war against Serbia.... Evidence linking him to genocides like Srebrenica, in which 7,000
Muslims died, was continually proven to be fraudulent. In fact, Srebrenica was supposedly a 'UN safe zone', yet just like Rwanda, UN peacekeepers deliberately withdrew and allowed the massacre to unfold, then blamed Milosevic."

"Romania leader faces charges of corruption; Officials seize his assets in probe of 2007-08 acts" by Alison Mutler Associated Press July 14, 2015
BUCHAREST — Romanian prosecutors indicted Prime Minister Victor Ponta on Monday as part of a wide-ranging corruption investigation and seized his assets, increasing pressure on him to resign.
Prosecutors said the charges include tax evasion, money laundering, conflict of interest, and making false statements while he was working as a lawyer in 2007 and 2008. At the time, Ponta was a lawmaker. He denies wrongdoing.
Prosecutors also said in a statement Monday that they temporarily froze Ponta’s personal assets, which include shares in a house, an apartment, and several bank accounts. He sold two apartments in May for $170,000 and also sold a car.
Ponta, who took office in 2012, is the first sitting Romania prime minister to be indicted and have his assets seized.
He said in a televised interview he would not resign.
‘‘It would be a betrayal,’’ he said on the Antena 3 channel. ‘‘If I resigned, I would give the power back to those who destroyed Romania,’’ he said, referring to the center-right opposition who governed until 2012.
Officials said the investigation is ongoing and the prosecutor in charge of the case will decide whether it is sent to trial.
The accusations against Ponta include forging expense claims worth at least $45,000 from the law firm of political ally Dan Sova. Prosecutors say he pretended he worked as a lawyer to justify getting money from the law firm. The funds were used to pay for two luxury apartments and the use of an SUV. Prosecutors say that after Ponta became prime minister in May 2012, he appointed Sova a minister three times.
Ponta, 42, who is recovering from a knee operation, was questioned at the offices of anti-corruption prosecutors on Monday morning. He walked up the steps on crutches into the building and he emerged about 30 minutes later but declined to respond to prosecutors’ questions, citing his right to remain silent.
Ponta has immunity for some of the charges, including the conflict-of-interest accusation. But he does not have immunity for the tax evasion and money laundering charges. He can’t be arrested without Parliament’s approval, the prosecutors’ office said.
Parties in the ruling coalition met Monday afternoon after the indictment and expressed their continued support for the prime minister.
On June 5, prosecutors identified Ponta as a suspect in a corruption investigation, which has thrown Romania into a political crisis. President Klaus Iohannis has urged Ponta to resign; Ponta said he hasn’t spoken with Iohannis since June 5.
The situation has also caused tensions within Ponta’s Social Democratic Party, the biggest in Romania.
He resigned as chairman of the party on Sunday, saying he wanted to prove his innocence.
If I remember correctly, the Romanians don't take kindly to corrupt politicians. Name CeauΘescu mean anything to you?
Ponta survived a vote to revoke his immunity and a no-confidence vote in June. He then went to Istanbul for his knee operation on June 15 and stayed for more than three weeks. He resumed his duties as prime minister on July 9.
