Obama's Campaign Caravan Costing Taxpayers Plenty

This is the same guy who has agreed to slash social spending, huh?

"A three-day bus tour of the Midwest that provided him campaign-style opportunities.... The president is traveling in a new $1.1 million bus purchased by the Secret Service.... complete with a blocks-long motorcade....  a motorcade of up to 30 vehicles....  enough of a campaign feel to the trip that Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus called on Obama to use his campaign’s money to finance the trip. The White House dismissed such calls, arguing the trip fell within the demands of the president’s job as chief executive.... The press corps follows Obama on chartered buses and a plane

So now HIS REELECTION is PART of HIS JOB, huh?

And WHAT is the CLIMATE-CHANGING CARBON FOOTPRINT of this CAMPAIGN CRAP anyway?

You know, I wanted to cut the guy a break and hope he did well in turning this country around when the "change" candidate won. Three years later we find this arrogant asshole only wanted to be the next front man for the empire so he could enjoy all its perks and privileges.

"Obama takes message to Midwest on bus tour; Swipes at GOP, but economic gloom is deep" August 16, 2011|By Mark Landler, New York Times

CANNON FALLS, Minn. - For most of this summer, President Obama has been under siege in the White House.

Oh, he's been living in Gaza?

Yesterday, he became a road warrior, kicking off a three-day bus tour of the Midwest that provided him campaign-style opportunities to go after Republicans in a region vital to his reelection....

This is really shitty journalism and word choice if you ask me. Everything is always framed in a war context in my agenda-pushing, war-promoting paper.

The president urged audiences in Minnesota and Iowa to tell their elected officials they will no longer tolerate the partisan gridlock....

You had a DEMOCRATIC SUPER MAJORITY for the FIRST TWO YEARS and what did we get?

Tired of the S*** POLITICAL FOOLEYS yet, America?

His appearance in Cannon Falls came amid the lowest approval ratings of his presidency....

Yeah, he's heading into Bush country -- which MAKES SENSE since he is simply CONTINUING the PROGRAM! Maybe STARTING ANOTHER WAR BEFORE ENDING the ONES YOU PROMISED TO END has something to do with it.

“I’m here to enlist you in a fight,’’ said Obama. He called on them to demand political leaders who choose “the next generation over the next election.’’

Why don't you take your own f***ing advice?

When Congress reconvenes next month, he said, he hoped it would move swiftly to tackle the nation’s fragile economy.

What have they been WAITING FOR?

The three-state swing, which will include stops in rural Illinois as well as Iowa and Minnesota, is an effort by Obama to reclaim the initiative, after a dismal summer....

Hope it is WORTH IT, American taxpayers!

The president is traveling in a new $1.1 million bus purchased by the Secret Service....

And WHO PAID for THAT?

During the first day’s events, Obama spent a lot of time promoting his administration’s commitment to rural America, talking about plans to develop alternative fuels, erect windmills, and extend broadband networks to remote farms.

Pffft! How do you promote failure?

Still, that message took a back seat to the shadows over the economy, and Obama’s professed frustration with the broken politics of Washington. The president pleaded for patience, saying the United States had been dealt a string of bad luck but its job market would recover in time.

I'm sorry, but THAT is ONE THING that has RUN OUT!

But he offered mostly familiar remedies....

Yeah, NOTHING NEW just the SAME OLD BULLSHIT we have HEARD AGAIN and AGAIN!

"Facing tough slog, Obama tries to connect in Heartland; A presidential show of pomp aimed at GOP Speeches reveal modest agenda" August 17, 2011|By Jim Kuhnhenn, Associated Press

DAVENPORT, Iowa - It’s the biggest bullhorn in the political world.

BULLSHIT from the BULLHORN!

The presidency and all the attention it commands are giving Barack Obama a chance to frame the national story line this week, to try to put his imprint on the economic and political windshear that has been battering him.

I'm SO SICK of SHIT PROPAGANDA!

His bus tour through three Midwestern states, complete with a blocks-long motorcade, is attracting the type of front-page headlines a White House occupant can generate even with modest or rehashed proposals.

Translation: Obama's bullshitting you!

A marvel of logistics, communications, and transport that few organizations are equipped to execute, it’s a welcome advantage as he fights back in a noxious political environment and in the face of weakening public approval....

A cheer-leading press because of the chartered buses and planes?

He’s not the first and won’t be the last president to employ all the trappings of power to seek a connection with the public. Presidents get credit in the hinterlands just for showing up, even from those who don’t support them....

The president also expanded his Midwestern reach into Missouri by granting interviews to television stations in Kansas City, Mo., and St. Louis.

Obama hit the road with slipping poll numbers, an up-and-down stock market, a downgrade of US credit by Standard & Poor’s, and the hangover of a bitterly fought debt ceiling deal. And he is taking this trip just as Republicans seeking his job were also commanding attention with their Iowa straw poll, a big debate, and the entry of Texas Governor Rick Perry into the race.

Obama’s tour put all the trappings of power on full display. He boarded his Marine One helicopter on the White House lawn to fly to nearby Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. From there he flew on Air Force One to Minneapolis-St. Paul. There he boarded his new $1.1 million Secret Service armored bus, joined a motorcade of up to 30 vehicles, and rambled 260 miles through Minnesota and Iowa corn fields and small towns. The trip was to end today in western Illinois before the president and his family head off for a summer vacation.

Look, everyone needs a vacation so I'm not going to hammer him on that; just could have done without the carbon-belching, three-day exhaust fest at taxpayer expense beforehand.

The locales for two outdoor town halls Monday were selected by White House aides for maximum photographic appeal....

Yup, the MANIPULATION NEVER ENDS!

Aides also chose road stops, arranging lunches and breakfasts with groups that help drive the president’s message....

I hope it was ALL WORTH IT, American taxpayers!

The press corps follows Obama on chartered buses and a plane - a luxury that none of the Republican candidates have yet. There was enough of a campaign feel to the trip that Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus called on Obama to use his campaign’s money to finance the trip. The White House dismissed such calls, arguing the trip fell within the demands of the president’s job as chief executive....

The White House said yesterday that the Agriculture Department, the Energy Department, and the Navy will jointly invest $510 million to produce “advanced’’ biofuels that can be used to power military and commercial transportation. The initiative was first announced by Obama in March as a part of a plan to reduce the country’s dependence on foreign oil.

Yeah, let's burn food instead. Who really needs food anyway?

"With economy, poll numbers low, Obama asks voters to give him leverage" by Donovan Slack, Globe Staff / August 18, 2011

VINEYARD HAVEN - As President Obama wound up his three-day bus tour of America’s heartland yesterday and prepared to begin his vacation today in Martha’s Vineyard, he appears increasingly vulnerable in his bid for a second term next year.

That's usually what happens to a failed presidency.

Maybe if he cared more about us than protecting Israel and feeding the war machine his prospects would be in better shape.

The numbers are foreboding: He is more unpopular in the polls than ever....

Some analysts say it may backfire on Obama - and may already have done so, as indicated by his shrinking support in the polls. Jennifer Duffy, senior analyst at the nonpartisan Cook Political Report, said she believes it may have weakened him in the minds of the electorate, raising doubts about his ability to get the job done.

“No matter what sort of crisis we were in, I have never heard a president say, ‘Hey, can you help me out here and call these guys because I’m having trouble here?’ ’’ she said.

For the first time, more than half of those surveyed in a Gallup poll this week - 52 percent - disapproved of Obama’s handling of the presidency. In a matchup against a hypothetical Republican challenger last month, the president trailed by eight percentage points, 39-47....

Then the wall went up, and who really cares?

Obama Warns Of Norway Style Lone Wolf Shooting In American On Or Near Tenth Anniversary of 9/11 Terror Attacks

Obama’s Feared “Lone Wolf Attack” Could Save His Presidency

Barack Obama made headlines yesterday when he spoke about his fear of a “lone wolf attack” in America carried out by an individual with a “hateful ideology”. But far from striking a blow against his administration, such an attack would galvanize Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign, as many political strategists have pointed out.

These guys are delusional if they think any type of false flag attack is going to unite this country behind this man. It will simply be ONE MORE INSTANCE of COMPLETE FAILURE and will be SEEN AS SUCH!

Sorry, guys, but the LIES are NO LONGER WORKING and NEVER WILL AGAIN!!!
