Somali Starvation Was a Sales Pitch

Turns out that is what the sudden appearance of so many stories was, and this is the real reason why.

What is most distressing is that nothing is done for the greater good as presented by the agenda-pushing paper; it simply disguises an ulterior motive.

"US warns of high Somali famine toll; Jill Biden tours refugee camp" August 09, 2011|By Jason Straziuso, Associated Press

DADAAB, Kenya - Hundreds of thousands of Somali children could die in East Africa’s famine unless more help arrives, a top US official warned yesterday in the starkest death toll prediction yet.

President Obama approved $105 million yesterday for humanitarian efforts in the Horn of Africa to combat the worsening drought and famine. White House press secretary Jay Carney said the money will help provide food, shelter, water, and sanitation and health services to those in need.

I'm all for helping the Somali people; however, the empire is bankrupt and our presence there is what is causing the problems.

To highlight the crisis, Jill Biden visited a refugee camp filled with hungry Somalis.

Biden, the wife of Vice President Joe Biden, is the highest-profile US visitor to East Africa since the number of refugees coming across the Somali border dramatically increased in July.

USAID administrator Raj Shah, who accompanied Biden, said hundreds of thousands of children could die from the famine.

I notice the elites still eat good. This could easily be one of those "useless eater" situations whereby Somalis are allowed to starve to death.

Shah said the world has a unique opportunity to save tens of thousands of children’s lives by expanding humanitarian activities inside Somalia, though he noted that it would be a challenge for aid providers to get into south-central Somalia, which is controlled by the militant group Al Shabab.

Biden, who traveled to the camp in a C-130 military transport plane, said yesterday that she wants to raise awareness and persuade donors to give more.

“One of the reasons to be here is just to ask Americans and people worldwide, the global community, the human family, if they could just reach a little deeper into their pockets and give money to help these poor people, these poor mothers and children,’’ said Biden, who met with two Somali mothers and their eight children....

If your bankrupt, debt-ridden empire didn't have its hand in their first.

Maybe the BILLIONS in PROFITS per QUARTER BANKS and OIL COMPANIES could LEND a HAND, 'eh?

Or maybe we could shut down one of the wars and use that money?

Did the U.N bring this one in like they did in Haiti?  Rose up just after the "aid" started.

I know it sounds sinister, but that's the way the psycho elite think.

And just offshore:

"Dutch court sentences Somali pirates" August 13, 2011|Associated Press

AMSTERDAM - A Dutch court sent two Somalis to jail for up to seven years yesterday for hijacking a South African yacht last year and seizing a South African couple who are still missing. Three others were also convicted of piracy.

The five men were caught by the Dutch Navy in the Gulf of Aden in November, heavily armed with machine guns and bazookas.

Prosecutors failed to prove a link between three of them to the sailboat Choizil, which was seized off Tanzania’s coast two weeks before the Somalis were captured....

But a South African man and his wife who were taken hostage remain in pirates’ hands with a $10 million ransom demanded for their release....

Two decades of anarchy in Somalia have allowed pirates to flourish off its coasts....

Of course, Israel can do the same and kill people and nothing.

If I were an African I would see the U.N. as a racist institution.

The only war crimes cases are African leaders (or token white Serbs who disobeyed).

Update:

The sales pitch continues, and note the last paragraph.

"Food for Somalia’s starving being stolen" by Katharine Houreld, Associated Press / August 16, 2011

MOGADISHU, Somalia - Sacks of grain and other food staples meant for starving Somalis are being stolen and sold in markets, raising concerns that thieving businessmen are undermining international famine relief efforts in this nearly lawless country.

Agenda message: troops needed.

Of course, the "thieving businessmen" are most likely the same warlords and clans AmeriKa has been supporting for years.

The United Nations’ World Food Program acknowledged it has been investigating food theft in Somalia for two months and condemned any diversion of “even the smallest amount of food from starving and vulnerable Somalis.’’

What good is the U.N.? They never prevent s***.

The argument is made that it would be worse without them, and maybe so; however, that sounds to much like the argument made for the looting bailout of Wall Street banks.

And if the Somalis need a meal, why not HAVE 'EM DOWN to the U.N for LUNCH!!!!

"Every table was set with a single fresh rose (from the rose gardens outside, I was told) and a full complement of three forks, two knives, and two spoons in silver plate..... The buffet tables could have graced a high-end ocean liner. I watched a gentleman in colorful African garb pile his plate with slices of roast sirloin and potatoes mashed with feta cheese. A post-retirement-age couple from the East Side scarfed up most of the egg rolls, though more came out quickly....

I made for the roast leg of lamb with rosemary sauce after I filled my salad plate with chilled asparagus and slices of a duck and pork terrine.... fresh tomato soup and bowls of pasta primavera.... The dessert buffet table practically groaned under a spread of apple and pumpkin pies, cheesecakes, tarts, half a dozen cheeses, sliced fruits, bowls of berries, and, off to one side, three urns of ice cream"

Pretty good spread down at the globalist club, 'eh?

The program said the “scale and intensity’’ of the crisis do not allow for a suspension of assistance, saying that doing so would lead to “many unnecessary deaths.’’

Been going on for a while so why would it appear in my agenda-pushing daily now?

To help save Somalis?

If it was about saving Somalis all the lies would stop, and they would be getting some food. If the globe-kickers really running everything wanted to "get it done," they would get it done. They get wars going when they want or need.

And the aid is not even safe once it has been distributed to families huddled in makeshift camps around the capital. Families at the large, government-run Badbado camp, where several aid groups have been distributing food, said they were often forced to hand back food after journalists had taken photos of them with it....

The UN says more than 3.2 million Somalis, nearly half the population, need food after a severe drought that has been complicated by Somalia’s long-running war. More than 450,000 Somalis live in famine zones controlled by Al Qaeda-linked militants, where aid is difficult to deliver. The United States says 29,000 Somali children under age 5 have died.

That darn "CIA-Duh" typo.

The sheer scale of the theft calls into question aid groups’ ability to reach the starving. It also raises concerns about the willingness of aid agencies and the Somali government to fight corruption, and whether diverted aid is fueling Somalia’s 20-year civil war.

“While helping starving people, you are also feeding the power groups that make a business out of the disaster,’’ said Joakim Gundel, who heads Katuni Consult, a Nairobi-based company often asked to evaluate international aid efforts in Somalia. “You’re saving people’s lives today so they can die tomorrow.’’

The World Food Program’s Stefano Porretti said the agency’s system of independent, third-party monitors uncovered allegations of possible food diversion. But he underscored how hazardous the work is: The program has had 14 employees killed in Somalia since 2008.

“Monitoring food assistance in Somalia is a particularly dangerous process,’’ Porretti said.

In Mogadishu markets, vast piles of food sacks are for sale with stamps on them from the World Food Program and the US and Japanese governments. The Associated Press found eight sites where aid food was being sold in bulk.

An official in Mogadishu with knowledge of the food trade said he believes a massive amount of aid is being stolen - perhaps up to half of aid deliveries - by unscrupulous businessmen.

Stealing food aid is not new in Somalia - it’s the main reason the US military got involved in Somalia during the 1992 famine. There are no indications that will happen again.

Actually, THERE ARE because I LED this POST with the links, but that aside the agenda-pushing media JUST RAISED the IDEA!

That is to what ALL the SOMALI STORIES are GEARED!
