Sunday Globe Special: Libyan Lie

I'm so sick of them, readers.

"Rebels control most of the eastern half of country"

Related:

"The rebels are in control of the country’s eastern third"

Do you blame me?

And consider this: the web version article is a total rewrite, eliminating the very passage I needed to quote. How very, very, interesting.

"Rebels launch push in western Libya, aim for coast" By KARIN LAUB, Associated Press, Saturday, August 6, 2011

Rebel launched a new offensive out of their stronghold in Libya's western mountains, battling regime forces on a new front in a bid to break a months-long deadlock and push toward Tripoli, the heartland of Moammar Gadhafi's rule on the Mediterranean coast.

Another one?

Booms of shelling and rocket fire echoed from the front lines on Saturday, centered around the town of Bir Ghanam, where the rebel force backed by tanks fought Gadhafi's troops much of the day. Later, witnesses saw flattened buildings presumably targeted in NATO airstrikes and three smoldering government tanks in the town.

Rebels are hoping for a breakthrough in the far west of Libya, frustrated with the stalemate in the center of the country, where their underequipped forces have been unable to budge the battlelines despite five months of NATO airstrikes on Gadhafi's military. Rebels control most of the eastern half of country, while Gadhafi's regime holds most of the west, centered around Tripoli....

And the AmeriKan media is hoping you buy the bulls***.

Despite the ambitious goals, the new assault is certain to hit tough resistance, as it would push right into the heartland of Gadhafi's control. Zawiya, the rebel's main target on the coast, was the scene of a major uprising by anti-Gadhafi protesters early on in the conflict. The protesters took over the city and drove out regime supporters, but then were brutally crushed in a long, bloody siege....

Did I say yesterday I was tired of the one-sided slop?

Turns out the CIA-supported terrorists are the main war criminals, and most Libyans have sided with their leader. That's why this is going nowhere for NATO.

But then again, what else would I expect from the CIA-controlled, War Daily press?

Earlier this week, the rebels said they hope to reach the Libyan capital before the end of the Muslim fasting holy month of Ramadan, which began on Monday. The fighters Saturday were enthusiastic — most of them civilians who have taken up arms. On the central fronts, such fighters in the past have often proven undisciplined, charging ahead but then fleeing in the face of heavy resistance....

--more--"

Yup, had to go across the country to get the right story I am staring at in my Sunday pos.
