Ohio man sentenced in rape of child

"Cleveland woman takes her medicine for passing bus" by Thomas J. Sheeran  |  Associated Press, November 14, 2012

CLEVELAND — A woman caught on camera driving on a sidewalk to pass a Cleveland school bus that was unloading children stood in the cold Tuesday at an intersection holding a sign warning people about idiots.

A Cleveland Municipal Court judge ordered 32-year-old Shena Hardin to serve the highly public sentence for one hour Tuesday and Wednesday for the Sept. 11 citation.

She arrived bundled up against the 34-degree cold, wearing headphones as passing vehicles honked.

Satellite TV trucks were on hand to stream the event live near downtown Cleveland.

The depths of depravity that the corporate media will sink knows no low.

The sign read: ‘‘Only an idiot would drive on the sidewalk to avoid a school bus.’’

Hardin declined to comment, as did her mother, who watched from a parked car.

Hardin’s license was suspended for 30 days and she was ordered to pay $250 in court costs.

Lisa Kelley, whose 9-year-old daughter boards the bus that Hardin had been passing on the sidewalk, said the sentence fit the crime.

‘‘She’s an idiot, just like her sign says,’’ Kelley said as she watched Hardin lean against a fence, her head down and her eyes hidden by dark glasses.

‘‘She did this almost every day last year,’’ Kelley said. ‘‘She won’t stop laughing. She’s not remorseful, she laughed at every court appearance. She’s still laughing, so she needs to be humiliated like this.’’

Let's save that for bankers, war criminal profiteers, and their political slaves.

Kelley said she was only sorry the woman was standing in the cold and not the rain or snow.

Why no just go kill her then?

That's not to excuse such behavior, not at all, but this whole take your medicine, let's scapegoat people who didn't do any harm to me or you -- unlike the political vermin and their vampire money masters -- has gone on long enough in AmeriKa and I've had my fill of coverage in its mouthpiece of a media.

"Kidnap suspect may face death penalty; Judge orders him held on $8m bail; details emerge of women’s plight" by Thomas J. Sheeran  |  Associated Press, May 10, 2013

CLEVELAND — Prosecutors said Thursday that they may seek the death penalty against Ariel Castro, the man accused of imprisoning three women at his home for a decade, as police charged that he impregnated one of his captives at least five times and made her miscarry by starving her and punching her in the belly.

I'm opposed because government has made so many mistakes and jailed so many innocents on false pretenses and false or forged evidence. Once they dead, they dead. No oopsie.

The horrific allegations were contained in a police report that also said another one of the women, Amanda Berry, was forced to give birth in a plastic kiddie pool.

Cuyahoga County prosecutor Timothy McGinty said, ‘‘Capital punishment must be reserved for those crimes that are truly the worst examples of human conduct. The reality is we still have brutal criminals in our midst who have no respect for the rule of law or human life.’’

What happens to people who start wars that murder millions based on lies?

Castro, a 52-year-old former school bus driver, is being held on $8 million bail under a suicide watch in jail....

Translation: he may turn up dead, and that will save the Cleveland cops a lot of work and embarrassment.

The charges could number in the hundreds, if not thousands.

Among the chilling details in the police report, obtained Thursday by news organizations:

All three women said Castro chained them up in the basement but eventually let them live upstairs on the second floor. Each woman told a similar story about being abducted after accepting a ride from Castro.

During his brief arraignment Thursday, Castro tried to hide his face, tucking his chin inside his collar. He appeared to close his eyes during the hearing and awkwardly signed documents while handcuffed....

Castro has been under arrest since Monday, when Berry broke out of his run-down house and called 911 while he was away. Police found the two other women inside....

The police report gave a detailed account of their escape, beginning with Berry’s discovery that a door was unlocked, leaving only a bolted outer door between her and freedom.

Berry feared it was a test: She said Castro occasionally left a door unlocked to test them. But she called to neighbors on a porch for help and was able to get out.

Police then entered the house and found the other women, who threw themselves into the officers’ arms.

Castro’s two brothers, who were arrested with him but later cleared of involvement in the kidnapping case, appeared in court on unrelated charges Thursday and were released....

No big deal about the cops claiming they knew nothing and were never called to the house, huh?

"DNA shows Ohio kidnapping suspect fathered girl" by Thomas J. Sheeran and Andrew Welsh-Huggins  |  Associated Press, May 11, 2013

CLEVELAND — A DNA test confirmed another dark twist in the story of three women imprisoned in a house for about a decade: Kidnapping and rape suspect Ariel Castro is the father of a 6-year-old girl who escaped from the house along with the women, a prosecutor said Friday.

As the investigation into the women’s ordeal continued, the FBI also said no human remains were among more than 200 pieces of evidence collected from the house.

Two of the women, including the one who gave birth to the girl, returned to relatives’ houses earlier this week. The third woman, Michelle Knight, was released from a hospital Friday with a request that her privacy be respected.

‘‘Michelle Knight is in good spirits and would like the community to know that she is extremely grateful for the outpouring of flowers and gifts,’’ the statement said.

No information would be provided about Knight’s next steps, said MetroHealth Medical Center spokeswoman Phyllis Marino.

Castro remained in jail under a suicide watch on $8 million bond while prosecutors weighed what charges they might bring against him, including the possibility of charges carrying a death penalty. He currently is charged with rape and kidnapping.

Castro was represented at Thursday’s hearing by public defender Kathleen Demetz, who said she is acting as Castro’s adviser until he is appointed a full-time attorney after he is charged by a grand jury. She said Friday she cannot speak to his guilt or innocence and said only that she advised him not to give any media interviews that might jeopardize his case.

Family members have portrayed Castro as a ‘‘monster’’ who terrorized the mother of his children, frequently beating her, playing twisted psychological games, and locking her indoors.

The stories, repeated in separate interviews by members of Castro’s extended family, have surprised people who knew him as a musician who played bass in several bands across Cleveland the last two decades.

A police report alleged that Castro impregnated one of his captives at least five times and made her miscarry by starving her and punching her in the stomach. The report also said another one of the women, Amanda Berry, was forced to give birth in a plastic kiddie pool.

Tests by the state attorney general’s office on a sample of Castro’s DNA confirmed that he is the father of Berry’s 6-year-old daughter, who was rescued from his house, the office said Friday.

Gee, that sure was fast. In other cases we are told in can take weeks and weeks to get such things.

After her release, the girl returned home with Berry, 27. Officials also were entering the DNA profile into a national database to see if it links him to other crimes.

The three women said Castro chained them up in the basement but eventually let them live on the home’s second floor. Each woman told a similar story about being abducted after accepting a ride from him.

Berry and former captive Gina DeJesus, 22, went home with relatives Wednesday. A missing-person report on Knight filed one day after she disappeared in 2002 said that she had a mental condition and was often confused about her surroundings.

Knight, now 32, was removed from a national missing persons database in 2003 after Cleveland police could not find anyone to confirm whether she was still missing, based on police policy in such cases, the department said Friday.

Wow. So for ten years now the authorities had forgotten all about her and were never even bothering to look. Maybe that's why they never bothered to log the calls(?) or check out the reports of sinister activity there.

Of course, the larger question is WHY is the MEDIA helping them to COVER THAT UP?

Also Friday, the FBI said publicity surrounding the women’s rescue had generated new tips in separate cases involving a 14-year-old girl and 18-year-old woman who disappeared years ago in the same area.

Translation: how many unsolved crimes can we pin on this sicko so we can stop looking?
