Foote in Mouth in Maine Mail

"Maine Episcopal priest gets 45 days in jail

An Episcopal priest has been sentenced to 45 days behind bars after pleading guilty to mailing illicit drugs to inmates at a Maine jail. The Rev. Stephen Foote of Bremen was sentenced Tuesday in Wiscasset District Court to a year in jail with all but 45 days suspended, a year of probation, and community service. In a plea deal with prosecutors, Foote, 70, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of possession of suboxone. Prosecutors said Foote mailed suboxone to inmates he knows at the Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset. Suboxone is used to treat opiate addiction."
