Mattapan Mismatch

A jury convicted two Mattapan men Monday in the July 2011 double murder of the daughter of a retired Boston ­police detective and her boyfriend inside the couple’s Hyde Park home, prosecutors said.

A Suffolk Superior Court jury found Michael Corbin, 42, and Earl Fulgiam, 33, guilty of first-degree murder for their roles in a brutal armed robbery in which Billie Marie Kee, 24, and her boyfriend, Kevin Thomas Jr., 32, were both stabbed and shot repeatedly.

“These verdicts reflect the cruel, callous nature of the murders,” Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said in a statement. “The victims were brutalized in a manner far ­beyond what was necessary to take their lives,” Conley said. “It was a case that deeply disturbed everyone who worked on it, to say nothing of the ­impact it had and will continue to have on Ms. Kee’s and Mr. Thomas’s families. In the face of all they’ve lost, I hope they can take some satisfaction that justice was done on their behalf.”

Authorities said last year when the defendants were arraigned that the men targeted Thomas, a known drug dealer who kept bundles of cash and two firearms in the apartment at 957 Hyde Park Ave. that he shared with Kee....
