Two-Month Memory Hole: Hungry New Hampshire

Just about dinner time, too:

"N.H. Food Bank starts ‘Nothing’ campaign

The New Hampshire Food Bank is starting a new campaign to bring awareness about the more than 140,000 residents in the state who have problems putting food on their tables. It is called the ‘‘Nothing’’ campaign. Cans of ‘‘Nothing’’ will be sold at retailers across the state for $5 and can then be filled and returned with donations. The Food Bank said the cans are sold empty to represent the reality that thousands of the state’s residents experience daily. Governor Maggie Hassan was planning to help kick off the campaign Tuesday at the Harvest Market in Bedford."

A couple more courses for you:

"Mail carrier pleads guilty to assault; other charges dropped

A mail carrier in New Hampshire accused of assaulting children in his official postal van has been sentenced to a year in jail with all but one month suspended after pleading guilty to one count of simple assault. Six other charges of aggravated felonious sexual assault were dropped against Frank Saucier of Tyngsborough, Mass. Saucier was sentenced Monday in Manchester. He was arrested last year, when Manchester police said he let several children into his postal van to ‘‘play house,’’ and allegedly spanked a 10-year-old boy. Saucier’s route was on Manchester’s west side."

"Part-time community college faculty protest

Part-time faculty members from New Hampshire’s community college system say they have gone too long without a labor contract. The educators held an informational picketing session Monday at Manchester Community College. They said it has been more than two years since an overwhelming majority of adjunct faculty voted to form a union, but they are still waiting for their first contract. After months of meetings, the parties reached an impasse, and the process has gone to mediation."
