Then why is this blog getting more hits than ever, much to my chagrin?
"Study: Social media users shy away from opinions" Associated Press August 27, 2014
WASHINGTON — Tired of that friend or relative who will not stop posting or tweeting political opinions? Online loudmouths may be annoying, but a new survey suggests they are in the minority.
Yeah, right, all this is useless and worthless so I should just shut up.
In a report released Tuesday, the Pew Research Center found that most people who regularly use social media sites were actually less likely to share their opinions, even offline.
It is literally a stinking agenda-pushing poll.
The findings run counter to how many people view social media. But a survey that asked some 1,800 adults about the case of leaker Edward Snowden found that people on Facebook and Twitter were more likely to clam up on whether widespread government surveillance is a good thing.
I've made it clear where I stand on the trappings of tyranny here, and I got news for you: if you are on one of those data collection sites (like this one) they already know how you feel.
What I can't understand is young people putting up drug use and sexual assaults on their social media. You think no one is looking, or it's all just cool despite the collection?
Researchers also noted the ‘‘spiral of silence’’ phenomenon: Unless people know their audience agrees, they are likely to shy away from talking about hot-button issues.
I've done that, but just because I'm sick of arguing with shitheads. Why waste my valuable time, energy, and breath?
‘‘People do not tend to be using social media for this type of important political discussion.
You are kidding, right?
And if anything, it may actually be removing conversation from the public sphere,’’ said Keith Hampton, a communications professor at Rutgers University in New Jersey who helped conduct the study.
That is an excuse for the leaders not listening!!
The survey focused on the willingness of adults to share their opinion on Snowden’s 2013 revelation of widespread government surveillance of Americans’ phone and e-mail records.
I guess that was meant for me to watch what I say, but this thing is so far gone now why not let it fly after eight f***ing years of trying to prevent all this?
