Adulterous Alabama Pastor Spread AIDS

"Ala. pastor accused of affairs temporarily banned" Associated Press   October 17, 2014

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — A minister who confessed to having sex with church members and neglecting to tell them he had AIDS was temporarily banned from acting as pastor on Thursday.

Montgomery County Circuit Judge Charles Price issued a preliminary injunction, as sought by deacons and trustees of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Price ruled that the Rev. Juan McFarland, 47, must turn in his church keys and his church Mercedes vehicle and then stay away from the church he led for 24 years.

How can anyone believe in that kind of religion?

Church members hugged and prayed after the ruling. ‘‘Now we’ve got the church back, and the healing can begin,’’ said Lois Caffey, a member for 21 years.

How blind.

***************

Lee Sanford, chairman of the church’s board of trustees, said the challenge now is to reunite the 170 active members of the congregation. ‘‘I’m confident with God’s help we will be able to do that,’’ he said.

The plaintiffs in the lawsuit said that the congregation voted to fire McFarland after his confessions but that he refused to leave and changed the church’s locks and control of church bank accounts....

Now you know where the dough in the collection plate was going.

"Suit says Ala. teen used as bait in school sex sting" Associated Press   October 13, 2014

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — A teacher’s aide asked a 14-year-old girl to go into a middle school bathroom as bait so a 16-year-old eighth-grader with a history of sexual harassment could be caught trying to have sex with her and disciplined.

What is wrong with the people that populate our schools?

The scheme backfired. The girl was sexually assaulted in a bathroom stall, evidence shows. Exactly why the plan was carried out and who knew about it are at the heart of a court fight pitting the Obama administration and groups that advocate against sexual violence against a north Alabama school district that says its administrators aren’t to blame for the 2010 attack.

We know who is winning that one. I say string up the aide.

US Magistrate Judge Michael Putnam didn’t endorse using a girl as bait, but he said allowing her to be put in such a position wasn’t bad enough for the lawsuit to continue under legal standards.

Even after she WAS ASSAULTED?
