Still Hoping in Hong Kong

That is not what was being said yesterday:

"Hong Kong police clear protesters out of tunnel" by Kelvin Chan and Sylvia Hui | Associated Press   October 15, 2014

HONG KONG — Hundreds of Hong Kong police officers moved in early Wednesday to clear prodemocracy protesters from a tunnel outside the city government headquarters, clashing with protesters in the worst violence since the demonstrations began more than two weeks ago.

Officers, many of them in riot gear and wielding pepper spray, tore down barricades and concrete slabs around the underpass.

So they are equipped as AmeriKan police, what's your point?

Reflecting Beijing’s increasing impatience over the demonstrations in the semiautonomous Chinese territory, a front-page editorial Wednesday in the People’s Daily, the ruling Communist Party’s mouthpiece, condemned the protests and said ‘‘they are doomed to fail.’’

‘‘Stability is bliss, and turmoil brings havoc,’’ it said.

The operation came hours after a large group of protesters blockaded the tunnel, expanding their protest zone after being cleared out of some other streets.

There was nowhere for you American kids to go -- except home.

The protesters outnumbered the police officers, who later returned with reinforcements to clear the area.

Police said they had to disperse the protesters because they were disrupting public order and gathering illegally. They arrested 37 men and 8 women during the clashes, which police said injured four officers.

That's the same excuse my government gave three years ago!

Local television stations broadcast live footage of the operation and its aftermath, with officers taking away many protesters, their hands tied with plastic cuffs, and pushing others out to a nearby park.

We didn't get that here.

The student-led protesters are into their third week of occupying key parts of the city in an effort to pressure the Asian financial hub’s government over curbs on democratic elections recommended by Beijing.

And the agenda-pu$hing mouthpiece for the AmeriKan government approves!

Positions on both sides have been hardening since the government called off negotiations last week, citing the unlikelihood of a constructive outcome given their sharp differences.

Was it the government that did that, or were U.S. puppet protesters intransigent?

You expect me to believe the slop-sh** version provided by my paper?

HA-HA-HA-HA!

The protesters want Hong Kong’s deeply unpopular, Beijing-backed chief executive, Leung Chun-ying, to resign.

\And that, my friends, is the hallmark of US fingerprints on protests. Happens everywhere an overthrow is attempted, and is what shut down talks.

They also want the Hong Kong government to drop plans for a pro-Beijing committee to screen candidates for the inaugural election to choose his replacement.

Leung has said there is ‘‘almost zero chance’’ that China’s government will change its rules for the election, which has been promised for 2017.

Once you change for CIA-inspired dirty tricks, you are sunk as a nation.

The demonstrations have posed an unprecedented challenge to the government.

And they are reacting the same way AmeriKan security forces did.

Organizers say as many as 200,000 people thronged the streets for peaceful sit-ins after police used tear gas on Sept. 28 to disperse the unarmed protesters. The numbers have since dwindled.

Police have chipped away at the protest zones in three areas across the city by removing barricades from the edges of the demonstrations, signaling the government’s growing impatience with the occupation of busy streets by the activists.

The clearance operation early Wednesday was the latest in a series of tit-for-tat actions between authorities and demonstrators that began Tuesday morning when police used chain saws and sledgehammers to tear down barricades on a road on the edge of the protest zone.

Time to bash China again:

"US says 168 million children are laborers" by Tom Raum | Associated Press   October 08, 2014

WASHINGTON — About 168 million children, aged 5 to 7, worked last year as laborers around the world, about half of them in hazardous jobs, the Labor Department reported Tuesday.

The report on child labor in 140 countries called this an improvement from previous years. But while the decline is a move in the right direction, 10 percent of the world’s children still are being forced to work rather than go to school, the department said.

Labor Secretary Thomas Perez said the world needs to do more to address the issue. The report doesn’t include the United States or countries in Western Europe.

The hypocritical crapper left out his own, huh?

‘‘This report shines a light on the estimated 168 million children around the world who toil in the shadows — crawling underground in mine shafts, sewing in textile factories, or serving in households as domestic workers,’’ Perez said.

I agree; however, you have to realize the words coming from the mouth are in direct contrast to the $y$tem promoted by the U.S. all these years.

This is rubbish, people. This is cudgel to be used for propaganda purposes. Can't even remember the last time I read about Bangladesh, and that's typical from the fleet-afoot agenda-pu$hing AmeriKan media.

‘‘We are seeing more countries take action to address the issue, but the world can and must do more to accelerate these efforts,’’ he said. “When children are learning rather than working, families flourish, economies grow and nations prosper.’’

Of the 168 million child laborers, 85 million of them work at hazardous jobs, the agency said.

The report is done annually under terms of a trade law passed in 2000 that requires the agency to determine which countries are eligible for trade benefits from the United States.

Like I said, it's all politic$.

These benefits are denied to countries with the worst child-labor practices.

The countries topping the list for ‘‘significant advancement’’ from previous years included: Albania, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ivory Coast, Ecuador, El Salvador, Peru, Philippines, South Africa, Tunisia, and Uganda.

The countries and regions at the bottom of the list with ‘‘no advancement’’ in child-labor practices included: British Virgin Islands, Central African Republic, the Republic of Congo, Cook Islands, Eritrea, the Falkland Islands, Montserrat, and Norfolk Island.

‘‘This is not a ‘gotcha’ exercise. We hope we can make progress,’’ Perez said.

From the very same government that has off shored and outsourced manufacturing while destroying the American middle class.

Childhood, the labor secretary said, is supposed to be a time of ‘‘wonder, adventure, and possibility.’’

The U.S. has destroyed so many childhoods by bringing their wars and bombs based on lies to them. Never mind the elite pedophile rings that are covered up.

"Samsung China supplier sues US labor watchdog" AP  October 03, 2014

SEOUL — A Chinese supplier of components to Samsung Electronics Co. filed a lawsuit accusing a New York City watchdog of spreading false rumors of child labor, but the group says it has evidence.

The suit, against China Labor Watch, was filed in China by HEG Electronics, which produces mobile phone components for Samsung and Lenovo Group, a Chinese company, Samsung said Thursday.

China Labor Watch rejected the suit as a ‘‘public relations action.’’

In August, China Labor Watch accused the company of hiring more than 10 workers under age 16.

Those are the violations?

Samsung said a joint investigation with HEG and another probe by local authorities found no child labor. HEG and Samsung called on China Labor Watch to apologize and retract its allegation. It said the group has not responded to its request.

‘‘CLW has endangered the very existence of HEG by undermining the confidence of its business partners and employees,’’ HEG said.

China Labor Watch said its report contained a list of the child workers’ identities. It also said the Chinese court has no jurisdiction over the group.

‘‘This lawsuit is a public relations action,’’ said Li Qiang, executive director at CLW. ‘‘If they were serious, HEG and Samsung would file the lawsuit in America.’’
