"Israel fire threatened Yad Vashem" July 18, 2011|Associated Press

JERUSALEM - A wildfire tore through a forest on the outskirts of Jerusalem yesterday, moving within several hundred yards of Israel’s Holocaust memorial Yad Vashem and sending a huge plume of smoke billowing over parts of the holy city.

Fire service spokesman Boaz Rakia said the fire was under control at nightfall. He said Yad Vashem was not in danger. He said investigators were considering the possibility of arson because of reports that the blaze erupted in several places at once....

Yad Vashem is one of Israel’s national treasures, home to a museum and memorials for the victims of the Holocaust. Foreign dignitaries routinely stop at Yad Vashem when visiting the country.

In more ways than one.

The memorial holds some 140 million pages of Holocaust documentation, the world’s largest such collection. It also exhibits artifacts, such as shoes, photographs, suitcases, and recorded testimonies of Holocaust victims and survivors.

What's up with all the sloppy and disorganized (after 60+ years) record keeping anyway?

It also has an eternal flame in its “Hall of Remembrance,’’ as well as the “Hall of Names,’’ where it is collecting the identities of the 6 million Jews who perished at the hands of the Nazis and their sympathizers during World War II....

And don't you dare question that number. Then there is the replacing of the plaque and so much more. The lack of mass graves at Treblinka (watch: video); the removal of the photographs; the lie of the First World War; the exhaustive documentation of the holohoax; the extortion racket arising from such; the outright lies; the Red Cross totals, and on and on.

I must admit, the HOLOHOAX™ lie was one of the most crushing and difficult to absorb.

Having been raised in a Zionist-controlled society, the thought was nearly impossible: the Jews lied?

The blaze brought back memories of a devastating fire that killed 42 people last December in a forest in northern Israel.

It sure did.

That's what happens when you buy so many weapons of war and neglect civilian needs.

Sound familiar, Amerikan?

After that disaster, Israel overhauled its firefighting service and bought firefighting aircraft. Some of those aircraft could be seen circling over the Jerusalem fire.

"Israeli navy halts French yacht trying to breach Gaza blockade" July 20, 2011|By Isabel Kershner, New York Times

"Isabel Kershner.... is an Israeli citizen.... possible family ties to the Israeli military"

Ah, one of the tough guys of the AmeriKan MSM.

JERUSALEM - Israeli naval forces boarded a French yacht off the Gaza coast yesterday as the yacht tried to breach the Israeli maritime blockade of the Palestinian enclave. The forces met no resistance, Israeli military officials said, and steered the yacht toward the Israeli port of Ashdod.

The yacht is a remnant of an international flotilla that had planned to challenge the blockade last month but was mostly thwarted.

The flotilla organizers had wanted to mark a year since the last flotilla, an attempt to reach Gaza that ended in bloodshed, and to highlight the restrictions on the movement of people and goods in and out of Gaza. Israel says its blockade is essential to prevent the smuggling of weapons into Gaza, which is run by Hamas, the Islamic militant group. The naval blockade was formally imposed in early 2009 during Israel’s military offensive in Gaza.

In May 2010, Israeli naval commandos met with resistance when they boarded a large Turkish passenger vessel trying to breach the blockade, and they fatally shot nine activists on the ship. The episode led to intense international pressure on Israel to ease its restrictions on Gaza.

When Somalis do that they are either killed or captured and imprisoned.

What is with the racism?

The amount and variety of goods allowed into the enclave over land crossings have increased significantly, and Egypt reopened the Rafah passenger crossing on its border with Gaza.

Yeah, but if you read the Palestinian blogs the Rafah opening has been a dud. Egyptian revolution not over yet.

But the capacity of the crossing is limited; there are currently 23,000 Palestinians on a waiting list to leave Gaza by way of Rafah, said Gisha, an Israeli advocacy group that focuses on freedom of movement for Palestinians.

I suppose if you are a Palestinian and you advocate that you are a terrorist -- although the Israeli government is more and more labeling internal dissenters in this way.

The export of goods has also been severely limited to a small amount of agricultural produce.

That means Palestinians can't make any money that Israel will hold for them until Israel desires to disperse it.

The latest flotilla, which organizers had hoped would include up to 10 vessels and some 300 passengers, was beset by problems from the outset.

SABOTAGE, cui bono?

Israel worked intensely at the diplomatic level to stymie the operation, and most of the vessels in the flotilla were prevented from leaving Greek ports by Greek authorities. Members of the flotilla also said two of the vessels were sabotaged.

My newspaper never looked into that. Isn't that strange?

As do most western governments.

The lone yacht that managed to set out for Gaza this week, the Dignite-Al Karama, left the French island of Corsica with 16 passengers and crew on board. Among them were an honorary member of the French Parliament, a crew from Al Jazeera, and an Israeli journalist.

There is a seat in heaven waiting for them.

The French-flagged yacht anchored in international waters before the last leg of its voyage Monday, according to organizers from the Free Gaza Movement.

The boat represented “the steadfastness and determination of the flotilla movement to sail until the blockade is broken,’’ the group said in a statement issued hours before the yacht was taken over.

Yesterday morning, the Israeli navy made contact with the yacht and requested that it change course, a call that the vessel ignored. The Israeli military released a recording of a radio exchange with someone on board, who said the vessel was a private cruiser boat, that it carried no cargo, and that its final destination was Gaza.

Brigadier General Yoav Mordechai, the Israeli military’s chief spokesman, said that the captain had lied to Greek authorities during its voyage, telling them that the yacht’s destination was Egypt.

Takes one to know one. And that assumes I believe the agenda-pushing propaganda organs account.

“After dialogue reached a dead end, naval commandos boarded the yacht and took control of it without facing resistance,’’ Mordechai said.

Hey, look, I'm glad no one was killed this time, huh?

Now about Gaza....

"Netanyahu appears on Arab TV for 1st time" July 22, 2011|By Aron Heller, Associated Press

JERUSALEM - With a September deadline looming, Israel’s prime minister turned to Arabic media yesterday for the first time since taking office two years ago in an attempt to bring the Palestinians back to peace talks, saying “everything is on the table.’’

Benjamin Netanyahu’s interview with satellite channel Al Arabiya reflects Israeli concerns over Palestinian plans to seek UN recognition of their independence this fall. But it also highlights Netanyahu’s new strategy of engaging directly with the Arab public.

Netanyahu has fielded questions from Arabs before on YouTube and even made a recorded plea to Arab viewers to submit questions. But the face-to-face Al Arabiya interview is his first of its kind. Netanyahu’s office called the move “the beginning of a new era’’ and promised more such interviews in the near future.

The interview, which aired yesterday evening, comes as Israel is scrambling to counter the Palestinian UN initiative this fall. Israel fiercely opposes the move, saying a Palestinian state should be formed through negotiations and not by unilateral steps.

Isn't that the way Israel itself was established? The hypocritical chutzpah has no end!

Peace negotiations have been stalled since 2008, and the Palestinians have refused to negotiate while Israel continues to build homes in Jewish settlements.

And they plan on keeping them all.

In the interview, Netanyahu said he is willing to negotiate anywhere and with anyone who accepts Israel’s right to exist.

I used to.

Now: Future Vision of Israel

What do you mean it has been wiped off the map?

“Everything is on the table. But we need to get to the table,’’ Netanyahu said.

“I’m prepared to negotiate with President Abbas directly for peace between our two peoples right now,’’ he said.

Who is stopping you?

Netanyahu offered few new details about his plans.

Which means Bibi was just spewing BS.

"Israel arrests 2 with weapons on Dead Sea" July 26, 2011|Associated Press

JERUSALEM - Israeli security forces yesterday intercepted a boat on the Dead Sea carrying assault rifles and ammunition from Jordan, Israeli authorities said.

The military provided a photograph showing a haul of 10 Kalashnikov rifles and the same number of ammunition clips. Two men on board, Palestinians in their 40s, were arrested, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said. He said the intended destination of the weapons was unclear.

The military said it was treating the incident as an attempted weapons smuggling operation and not as an attempted militant attack. Army Radio described the vessel as a rubber dinghy.

Rosenfeld said the arrests capped a police operation that lasted several weeks.

The Dead Sea, a landlocked salt lake at the lowest point on the earth’s surface, is split between Israeli and Jordanian control. The northwestern section of the lake is in the West Bank, which the Palestinians claim as part of a future state.

Israel and Jordan have a peace agreement, and their frontier is generally quiet. The lake, popular with tourists, is only lightly patrolled.

The DEAD SEA SET-UP!

"Israel may ease stance on border; Netanyahu open to pre-1967 lines, TV report says" August 02, 2011|By Ian Deitch, Associated Press

JERUSALEM - Israel is seeking to persuade the Palestinians to drop their initiative to win United Nations recognition of their state next month....

Yes, this is ALL ABOUT THEIR OWN SELFISH INTERESTS!

While a vote in the General Assembly would be symbolic and not legally binding, the Palestinians believe any international endorsement would isolate Israel and improve their position if negotiations resume.

Palestinian officials said yesterday they plan to begin mass marches against Israel’s occupation of the West Bank on Sept. 20, the eve of the UN vote.

I think the Israelis beat you to the punch.

Also see: Israel's Dharasana Moment

Maybe not.

Palestinian official Yasser Abed Rabbo said leaders hope to attract millions of protesters in a prolonged effort to be called “Palestine 194,’’ since the Palestinians hope to become the 194th member of the United Nations.

“The appeal to the UN is a battle for all Palestinians, and in order to succeed it needs millions to pour into streets,’’ he said.

This is why I STRONGLY SUSPECT a FALSE FLAG ATTACK by "Al-CIA-Duh" or some other such nonsense right around the anniversary of 9/11.

BEWARE and BE ON GUARD, world!!

In a separate development yesterday, Israeli soldiers killed two Palestinians in a refugee camp in Kalandia, West Bank, after raiding several houses and being pelted with stones.

Because that's all Palestinians have.

The two were identified by family members as Ali Hassan Khalifeh, 26, a member of the Palestinian military intelligence force, and Moatassem Issa Adwan, 22, a student. Witnesses said both were bystanders in the melee that broke out about 3 a.m. as residents were preparing to eat and pray before the start of Ramadan fasting.

The Israeli military said the soldiers were conducting an arrest raid in the camp and a riot broke out.

So THEY KILLED TWO BYSTANDERS?

And think about the OBFUSCATION there. The Palestinians were settling in to eat and pray before daybreak and the Israeli raid instigated the whole thing. That's what happened, but it sure doesn't read that way in the paper.

It said five soldiers were slightly injured but had no information on the Palestinian casualties. The army said it made three arrests....
