I don't about anything anymore. It's all cover-story crap, agenda-pushing division and diversion, and endless war promotion.
"US missed state’s bright job growth, report finds; Federal revisions of 2011 data faulted" by Megan Woolhouse | Globe Staff, April 18, 2012
The Massachusetts economy created jobs faster than the nation as whole in 2011, new data show, and the US Labor Department acknowledges that it probably got it wrong when last month it dramatically lowered estimates of the state’s job growth.
Un-flipping-f***ing real!
Pick WHICH LIAR you would like to believe, dear readers. As with SO MUCH in AmeriKa these days, you CAN NOT SPEAK the TRUTH without being SLAPPED DOWN!
The new jobs data are based on reports by most employers in Massachusetts. It restores the picture of the state economy recovering at a steady pace - a picture clouded several weeks ago by revised figures showing minimal job growth in 2011.
In other words, it RESTORES the BIG LIE!
World, living in AmeriKa has become surreal.
An analysis of the data by the University of Massachusetts shows that
the state added nearly 40,000 jobs in the first nine months of 2011,
far more than the 2,300 the Labor Department reported in revised data
for the period.
Where, because they are certainly not out here. I look through the wanted ads in the newspaper (the wrong place to be looking, of course) and there is nothing. I was aghast at the Saturday listings which used to be pages and now takes up less than a quarter of one page with nothing but s*** jobs listed. I'm looking because I have one of those s*** jobs and would like to upgrade. The fact is JOBS are NOT BEING CREATED HERE, there are only REPLACEMENT JOBS AVAILABLE!
Quick anecdote: I was taking a delivery the other day and the truck driver asked me what was wrong with Main Street. I said what do you mean. He said nothing going on out there, street was empty, and I said it's always that way now. He said something about Springfield being the same way. He said they say things are getting better, but he hasn't seen it, and I said, yeah, I'm getting kind of tired of being lied to myself.
Probably? PROBABLY?

“We do try to educate people that these numbers are estimates,’’ Robertson said....
Translation: It's nothing but bullshit.
Trying to "ejerkate" us, huh?
And let me put this little thought into your head:
When they hire you, YOU HAVE TO FILL OUT a WITHHOLDING FORM for the STATE and FEDERAL GOVERNMENT! The government shouldn't need "estimates" because THEY KNOW the NUMBERS! They HAVE the INFORMATION RIGHT NOW!
“These numbers inform people’s perception of what’s going on in the economy,’’ said Michael Goodman,a professor at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and coeditor of MassBenchmarks. “Lenders and investors, people who are assessing risk, they all use this data to try to assess the current economic and financial environment. Obviously our knowledge is never perfect, but there is a lot at stake here.’’
There sure as hell is, and the blatant terms of propaganda are not helping.
Many economists and analysts in Massachusetts were surprised when the Labor Department issued new statistics last month that slashed initial estimates of job growth in the state. Several economists and analysts said the information did not jibe with other economic indicators that showed a steady recovery from the recession in the state.
Now they are giving you the business again.
Alan Clayton-Matthews, a Northeastern University economics professor and author of the analysis published by UMass, said the state had seen a rise in tax revenues, a slowdown in unemployment insurance filings, and rising consumer and business confidence during the year, all positive signs of growth....
I read tax collections were down but up(??). As for the rest, it's all nebulous s***, not numbers. We are not talking rocket science or quantum physics here, people. The endless shoveling of this s*** is really starting to piss me off.

"Mass. jobless rate at lowest level since ’08; 8,700 jobs added in March, state says" by Megan Woolhouse |
Globe Staff, April 20, 2012
(Blog editor is simply stunned by the insult added to the lie).
“This is a really positive employment report,’’ said Northeastern University economics professor Alan Clayton-Matthews. “We have three months of consistently high results, so that’s a pretty good indication that we’ve had at least moderate job growth.’’
I'm juxtaposing the "consistently high" with "moderate." These f***ing guys. Nothing but paid shills to be quoted by an agenda-pushing pos.
Economists caution that the monthly job-creation figures are estimates from data collected by the US Labor Department and are subject to frequent revision. Last month, the Labor Department dramatically lowered estimates of Massachusetts’ job growth in 2011, finding that the state’s pace of job growth lagged behind the nation’s.
The most recent data from employers, however, reversed that picture and showed the state economy creating jobs at a slightly faster pace than the nation. Labor Department officials acknowledged that they probably got it wrong last month when they slashed 2011 job growth estimates....
The state still has a ways to go. The unemployment rate remains 2 points above its prerecession level....
The data also indicate that the divide between white- and blue-collar workers in the state persists, said Michael Goodman, a public policy professor at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, with blue-collar workers continuing to fall behind....
That I believe.

Update: Mass. economy doubles US pace
Shameless. Absolutely shameless.
