"Woman dies after being struck by pickup truck
A 44-year-old woman was struck and killed by a pickup truck in Salem, N.H., early Sunday, according to the Police Department. When police responded to the scene on Main Street, the driver of the 2002 Dodge Ram that struck the woman, a 19-year-old man, had pulled over and was providing medical aid to the unconscious victim, according to a statement by police. The victim was initially evaluated at Lawrence General Hospital and then taken by helicopter to Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where she died from serious internal injuries, according to the statement. While the accident remained under investigation, it did not appear that speed, alcohol, or drugs were a factor. The names of the victim and the driver were not released."
