"Teens hurt in recreational vehicle crash in Hudson, N.H.

Three 15-year-old boys were injured Friday when two off-highway recreation vehicles collided at 5:40 p.m. in a field at Senter Farm Estates in Hudson, N.H., according to the Hudson Police Department. The driver of one vehicle was transported to Boston Children’s Hospital with serious injuries, but his condition is “improved and stable,” police said. The teenager driving the other vehicle was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua with minor injuries, the statement said. His passenger went to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua with serious injuries, but is now listed in fair condition at Massachusetts General Hospital. None of the teenagers was wearing a helmet, and drugs and alcohol were not a factor, the statement said."

"1 dead, 2 seriously hurt in car crash

Police are investigating a two-car crash on Route 4 in Durham, N.H., that left a 74-year-old man dead and two 22-year-old men seriously injured. According to Durham authorities, a 22-year-old man driving a 2004 Chrysler was passing the car in front of him when he collided head-on with the 2000 Buick driven by the 74-year-old man, whose identity and residence is being held pending family notification. Durham Deputy Police Chief Rene Kelley said the older man was dead when officers arrived on the scene. The 22-year-old driver was airlifted to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, while his passenger, another 22-year-old man, was taken by ambulance to the Portsmouth Regional Hospital in New Hampshire. Kelley said there were no further details on their injuries."

"Methuen city employee killed in N.H. crash

A Methuen city employee died Friday night when he was thrown from his car after it veered off Interstate 95 in Portsmouth, N.H., and rolled multiple times. William Lasonde, 63, died at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, the New Hampshire State Police said. Lasonde worked in Methuen’s information technology department. A father of three, Lasonde enjoyed umpiring local baseball games and traveling with his wife, Diane, said his son Tim Lasonde, 36, of Methuen. “He was kind of a handy man around the house,” said Tim Lasonde. “He was helping me restore a motorcycle.”

"Man pulled from burning car in N.H.

Police are crediting two good Samaritans with helping pull a man to safety from a burning car. When police responded to a report of a single-car accident shortly after 6 a.m. Saturday, they found Earl Wickline of Londonderry trying to put out the fire with an extinguisher he’d gotten from a resident. Police say Wickline, Apryl Norris of Londonderry, and three Londonderry police officers eventually pulled the driver out of the vehicle. The driver, who was not identified, was flown to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. His condition was not immediately available (AP)."

"Toddler dies after alleged assault

A 2-year-old New Hampshire boy has died two weeks after he was hospitalized with serious injuries allegedly sustained at the hands of his mother, officials said. Devon Gould died Friday, senior assistant attorney general Jeff Strelzin told WMUR-TV. The child’s mother, 21-year-old Unique Gould, has been in jail since her son was hospitalized April 26 with what police said were serious brain injuries. When questioned by police, Gould said she struck her son numerous times across the buttocks and his head, according to an affidavit. Gould was charged with first-degree assault, a felony, and held on $100,000 bail. Officials said the charge has not been upgraded."

"Bomb remnants found on campus in Keene, N.H.

Remnants of a pair of homemade explosives that were found at Keene State College left the campus on edge, but police say they had nothing to do with the Boston Marathon attacks. WMUR-TV reported that the remnants of bottle explosives were found on different days on campus this week, prompting two campuswide alerts. Police said similar homemade chemical bombs were also found in March, but no arrests have been made."

"Sexual assault reported at University of New Hampshire dorm

University of New Hampshire police are investigating an on-campus sexual assault reported early Saturday morning, a university spokeswoman said. A woman, who is not a student, reported being sexually assaulted at Sawyer Hall, a 146-resident dorm, at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, said spokeswoman Erika Mantz.“There is no information to suggest the suspect was a stranger in the residence hall, and we do know that the victim met the suspect at an on-campus evening establishment,” Mantz said. Police did not know whether the woman knew her alleged attacker before Friday evening, Mantz said. The woman described the suspect as a white male taller than 5 feet, 7 inches, with short dark hair wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. Anyone with information about the assault can call university police at 603-862-1427."
