"Driver charged in crash with cruiser

A Lowell man is facing charges that he ran a red light and slammed into a police cruiser early Sunday morning, State Police said. Trooper Taylor Robidoux was driving through the intersection of Central and Gorham streets in Lowell, on his way to assist another trooper, when his cruiser was struck by a Honda Civic. The Civic, which failed to stop at the intersection’s red light, was driven by 28-year-old Justin Castanza, State Police said. Neither driver was injured. Castanza faces charges including operating under the influence of liquor, unlawful possession of fireworks, and failing to stop at a red light, State Police said."
