"Helmet water leak aborts harrowing spacewalk" by Marcia Dunn |  Associated Press, July 17, 2013

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — In one of the most harrowing spacewalks in decades, an astronaut had to rush back into the International Space Station on Tuesday after a mysterious water leak inside his helmet robbed him of the ability to speak or hear and could have caused him to choke or even drown.

"NASA selects 8 for new batch of astronauts" by Marcia Dunn |  Associated Press, June 18, 2013

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — Many astronauts quit rather than get in a lengthy line for relatively few slots for long-term missions aboard the International Space Station.

NASA Administrator Charles Bolden said these new candidates will help lead the first human mission to an asteroid in the 2020s, and then Mars, sometime in the following decade.

They also may be among the first to fly to the space station aboard commercial spacecraft launched from the United States, he noted. Russia ferries the astronauts now.

Oh, so someone is going to make a buck off the canceling of the space program -- one of the few things Americans could actually be proud.

‘‘These new space explorers asked to join NASA because they know we’re doing big, bold things here, developing missions to go farther into space than ever before,’’ Bolden said in a statement.

Even though NASA no longer has a space program. Now they just lie to us about the weather.
