Like WWII, the US is looking the other way and is caught off guard, right?

"Chinese fighter has close brush with Navy plane" New York Times August 23, 2014
WASHINGTON — A Chinese fighter jet flew within 30 feet of a Navy surveillance and reconnaissance plane this week in international airspace just off the Chinese coast, the Pentagon said Friday.
The encounter, known as an intercept, was “very, very close, very dangerous,” said Rear Admiral John Kirby, a Pentagon spokesman.
The Pentagon filed a diplomatic complaint with the People’s Liberation Army on Friday morning, Defense Department officials said. As of Friday afternoon, it had not received a reply.
The episode, which occurred Tuesday, began with the Chinese warplane flying closely underneath the Navy’s P-8 Poseidon.
It then moved parallel to the US naval plane, with the wingtips of the two aircraft separated by less than 30 feet. Then the planes were nose to nose.
As a final maneuver, the Chinese fighter executed a barrel roll, turning and then leveling out, apparently to show off its weapons payload to the US pilot. Kirby called it an aggressive move.
What was a spy plane doing so close to the Chinese coast?
Remember way back when W. Bush lost one to China?
Can anyone really trust the US Navy?

Then North Korea nukes Chicago on 9/11:
"N. Korea developing powerful rocket" | New York Times August 23, 2014
SEOUL — Satellite images indicate that North Korea is likely to have the ability to launch a longer-range rocket that can carry a heavier payload by the end of this year, according to a US research organization that monitors the North’s activities.
The US-Korea Institute at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Affairs, reported Thursday on its website, 38 North, that North Korea’s expansion of its Sohae Satellite Launching Station was on track to be completed by fall.
The expansion, which began last year, will enable it to launch a rocket more powerful than the country’s Unha rocket, one of which was used in 2012 to put a satellite into orbit, the report said.
The report also said North Korea appeared to be winding down a recent series of engine tests for the KN-08, which is believed to be a road-mobile intercontinental ballistic missile. Such a missile, if successfully developed, would represent a significant increase in the North’s missile abilities.
