Slow Saturday Special: Perrotti’s Potshots

"Lawrence man arrested in probe of threat against Obama" by John R. Ellement | Globe Staff   August 01, 2014

A Lawrence man under investigation for allegedly making a threat to President Obama was ordered held for a dangerousness hearing today following his arrest on multiple charges, including possession of an assault weapon.

Why waste your time? The delusional sphincters are destroying themselves. Better off sitting back and watching.

Stephen M. Perrotti, 28, was arraigned in Lawrence District Court where not guilty pleas were entered on nine charges, including possession of an assault weapon, possession of a firearm without an firearms identification card and five counts of possession of large capacity firearm or feeding device, officials said.

At the request of Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett’s office, District Court Judge Lynn Rooney ordered Perrotti held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing set for Aug. 8.

According to Blodgett’s office, the US Secret Service contacted Lawrence police regarding an alleged threat made against the president by Perrotti. Lawrence police and Secret Service agents went to Perrotti’s Byron Avenue home Thursday night, prosecutors said.

Perrotti allegedly gave police permission to search his residence where they found AR-15 assault rifle -- the civilian equivalent of the military M-16 -- along with three rifle scopes and four high-capacity magazines and ammunition.

As a result of the search of his home, Perrotti was placed under arrest, officials said.

Lisa Quinn, special agent in charge of the Secret Service’s Boston office, said the agency is conducting its own investigation into Perrotti based on a comment on his Twitter account.

Quinn declined to say who Perrotti’s comments were directed at or discuss the content of that posting on Twitter.

She declined further comment, citing the ongoing investigation.
