Climate Scientists $old Their $oul For Government Dole

They did it for the $$$:

"This year's heat is what scientists expect from man-made global warming. Scientists say the burning of coal, oil and gas traps heats, changing the climate. This heat is being driven by incredible warmth in the world's oceans. It is becoming pretty clear that 2014 will end up as the warmest year on record."

Globe got rid of that stink

Just don't mind the bad apples and harsh winter that caused housing sales to slip -- from the same people who said it wasn't happening -- or the dead turtles they are finding off Cape Cod due to cold water (where the heat is supposed to be hiding).

All flying in the face of this:

"Early winter pummels much of country, strands cars" by Carolyn Thompson, Associated Press  November 19, 2014

Except winter is more than a month away.

BUFFALO — A lake-effect snowstorm dumped up to 4 feet of snow along a stretch of the New York State Thruway on Tuesday, forcing about 150 motorists, including a women’s basketball team, to ride out the storm in their vehicles on a day when temperatures fell to freezing or below in all 50 states.

Four people in the Buffalo area died as a result of the storm — one in a car accident and three from shoveling, authorities said.

I hold all fart-misters personally responsible for each and every death. They should be charged with murder.

A state official said cars, trucks, and buses stranded on a 4-mile section near Buffalo were expected to be freed by 10 p.m. Tuesday after the paralyzing ordeal that lasted nearly 24 hours for some motorists.

‘‘It seemed like a nightmare. It just didn’t feel like it was going to end,’’ Bryce Foreback, 23, of Shicora, Pennsylvania said by cellphone 20 hours into his wait for help. ‘‘I haven’t slept in like 30 hours and I'm just waiting to get out of here.’’

Members of the Niagara University women’s basketball team were napping on and off 17 hours into their wait.

Team spokeswoman Chelsea Andorka said the bus, with about 25 players and coaches aboard, was headed back from a loss in Pittsburgh when it came to a halt at 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Yeah, so? Why are they singled out for special attention?

In a region accustomed to highway-choking snowstorms, this one is being called one of the worst in recent memory. The blast that included bitter cold in spots created havoc across a wide swath of the country.

The National Weather Service warned that the snow, generated by cold air blowing over the warmer Great Lakes, would continue through Wednesday and could eventually total 6 feet in places....

Or twice that amount!

"Buffalo residents tunnel out after epic snow" by Carolyn Thompson, Associated Press  November 20, 2014

BUFFALO — Homeowners opened their front doors to find themselves sealed in by sheer walls of white. Shovelers turned walkways into head-high canyons. A woman gave birth in a firehouse after the snow prevented her from reaching the hospital.

Even for Buffalo, a place that typically shrugs at snow, this was an epic snowfall, the kind of onslaught folks will be telling their grandchildren about.

And it all occurred during the age of global warming (just ignore the handful of record-setting winters recently).

The Buffalo area found itself buried under as much as 5½ feet of snow Wednesday, with another lake-effect storm expected to bring 2 to 3 more feet by late Thursday.

‘‘This is an historic event. When all is said and done, this snowstorm will break all sorts of records, and that’s saying something in Buffalo,’’ Governor Andrew Cuomo said during a visit to the city.

That hot fart mist coming from his mouth is adding to the problem.

********

A 132-mile stretch of the New York State Thruway remained closed Wednesday. People were marooned at homes, on highways, and at work....

Trapped on a team bus on the Thruway for nearly 30 hours, the Niagara University women’s basketball team melted snow for water, posed with long faces for pictures that were posted online, and generally tried to keep each other’s spirits up....

The National Weather Service said the storm was so intense that some of the spotters it relies on for accumulation totals could not get out of their home for measurements....

Do I really need to type anything?

Cuomo said Wednesday that all trapped travelers had been removed from their cars, though some truckers were staying with their rigs.

Asked by reporters how officials could allow people to be snowbound in cars for 24 hours, Cuomo cited a jackknifed trailer that prevented plows from removing fast-falling snow and drivers’ own wrongheaded choices....

That asshole just blamed the people for this?

Really, WHAT IS WRONG WITH DEMOCRATS! I have never seen such an ARROGANT and CONDESCENDING CLASS in all my life!

With all due respect, you DO NOT SEE REPUBLICANS SINKING SO LOW!

The storm was blamed for up to seven deaths in western New York, at least four of them from heart attacks. Erie County officials said a man was discovered in his car, which was in a ditch and buried in snow 24 miles east of Buffalo. It was unclear how he died.

The total will rise, and each one is a murder charge for global-swarming proponents.

Sunny skies returned to some hard-hit areas Wednesday, but workers were still trying to cart off the acres of snow. Lake-effect snow fell heavily on some northern New York areas east of Lake Ontario.

With an additional 2 to 3 feet possible on Thursday, the one-week totals for the Buffalo area will approach the average snowfall for a year: 93.6 inches, or close to 8 feet.

Global warming -- and the START of winter is still a MONTH AWAY!!

Cuomo warned that a weekend warm-up could lead to significant flooding when the thick blanket of snow melts. Forecasters say rain is possible this weekend....

I wouldn't worry because it is bitter cold here again today.

"Engulfed in snow, Buffalo shows resilience; Little chaos in region in wake of massive storm" by Jill Terreri Ramos, Globe Correspondent  November 21, 2014

BUFFALO — More than 5 feet of snow have fallen on the Buffalo area since Tuesday. Ten people have died, mostly because of heart attacks suffered while cleaning off the snow or from exposure to the cold. Some areas have seen significant property damage that will only worsen as roofs cave in under the weight of wet, heavy snow. And though there was a respite Thursday, and the sun broke through in some areas, several more inches of snow are in the forecast.

Through it all, however, the people in Buffalo as a whole have not been downcast even with the ferocity of the snowfall, but officials are far from declaring victory.

Not what I was told the day before!!!! Was told it was taking its toll on the nerves of those hardy folk used to such things!

Does the LYING EVER END?

People might be stranded in the snow, but despite the dire warnings to stay home, parts of the city and the northern suburbs were bustling with traffic Thursday....

Then why did they move the football game?

Buffalo has worked mightily to dig out from under its reputation as a barren outpost notable for chicken wings, Super Bowl losses, and ferocious blizzards that blow in from Lake Erie. The city has worked to capitalize on its rich history as the terminus of the Erie Canal, its cheap real estate, and a growing downtown scene that offers cuisine far more diverse than spicy, mild, and BBQ.

What is this, a business brochure from the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce?

When Cuomo, who has committed to spending $1 billion in Western New York on economic development, visits Buffalo, he typically talks about how the city’s mood has brightened and people are more optimistic.

He frequently mentions his administration’s efforts to land a California solar-panel manufacturer, billionaire Elon Musk’s SolarCity, to a new $750 million facility on the city’s south side, creating 2,900 jobs. (But that site was all under snow this week.)

Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula is spending $172 million on a hockey and hotel complex on the waterfront that will draw major National Hockey League events, including the 2016 draft. But the team was not immune from the storm; it postponed its home game Friday. And the beloved, if star-crossed, Buffalo Bills have to leave town to face the New York Jets in a matchup that had been scheduled as a home game this Sunday.

Casey Smigelski, a 30-year-old IT worker, hopes that people don’t get the wrong impression of the city, though he knows that after all the news coverage, it will be tough to convince people otherwise.

“It’s not like this all the time,” said Smigelski, who has been able to tunnel through the five feet of snow in his driveway, but hasn’t been able to leave his South Buffalo neighborhood since Tuesday. “This is unbelievable, even for us.”
