"Between the stampedes of Black Friday and the online frenzy of Cyber Monday, residents took to their neighborhood bakeries, shops, and boutiques Saturday to support small businesses. Small Business Saturday, started in 2010 by American Express, is a nationally recognized day when residents are encouraged to shop locally. It aims to help smaller stores compete during one of the biggest shopping weekends of the year."
In other words, it's another corporate and banker $cam to get you to spend and go into debt, promoted by mouthpiece ma$$ media.
After I skipped the sermon and get some eats we can get going:
"New Hampshire is facing its fourth-worst power outage in history. For many, the outages upended Thanksgiving celebrations, pressed wood stoves into service, and had people wondering what the rest of the winter would bring if such a powerful storm could hit so early."

On to the censored coverage(?) of the Black Friday Protests:
"Protesters upset by the grand jury’s decision not to indict the Ferguson, Missouri, officer who killed 18-year-old Michael Brown have disrupted shopping in suburban St. Louis for the second straight day.
Demonstrators marched through a Trader Joe’s store in Brentwood, about 10 miles south of Ferguson, around noon Saturday. After leaving they briefly blocked Eager Road near Interstate 170.
On Friday, three St. Louis-area malls were briefly shut down due to demonstrations. Protest organizers planned to meet later Saturday to consider other plans for the coming days....
This has such a stink of controlled-opposition I can no longer stand it.
Police departments around the country have in recent years stepped up their training in “de-escalation” — the art of defusing a tense situation with a word or a gesture instead of being confrontational or reaching for a weapon.
Yeah, right, as they arms themselves to the teeth and shoot people first.
Proponents, including the Justice Department, say the approach can improve trust and understanding between police and residents, curtail the unnecessary use of force and improve the safety of officers and civilians alike.
This is such rank rot, mouthpiece media crap it really is difficult to get through the spew these days. It's all agenda-pushing public-relations imagery and illusion, people, reinforcing the greater cultural myths.
“We haven’t taught officers to just walk away,” said Cambridge, Mass., Police Commissioner Robert Haas. “But if the only reason a person is acting up is because you’re standing there … isn’t that a viable approach?”
Haas and other law enforcement officials said they didn’t want to second-guess Wilson’s actions because they weren’t in his shoes at the time of the Aug. 9 shooting.
But, many said, the case should accelerate a national discussion about police culture and the potential for broader training in de-escalation, which is considered especially important in dealing with people in mental health or drug-related crises."
Let's talk about police culture and de-escalation for a bit:
"Mendon police officer alleges gay bias in suit; Superior had faced charges in assault" by Evan Allen, Globe Staff November 30, 2014
A Mendon police officer whose lieutenant allegedly punched him and held a knife to his throat and groin while repeating, “Slash, slash, slash, slash,” has filed a discrimination complaint with the state saying he was targeted because he is gay.
That's a really big come out.
“This was a very clear-cut case of discrimination based on sexual preference, and frankly, it’s about as egregious a situation as I can recall,” said attorney Timothy M. Burke, who represents 17-year department veteran Officer Edward “Chris” Bettencourt. “My client wants to ensure that nothing like this is done to anybody else.”
An attorney for the town described Lieutenant Donald Blanchette’s behavior as “inappropriate horseplay” and said it involved numerous people. It had nothing to do with Bettencourt’s sexuality, said Attorney Lenny Kesten, who spoke on behalf of the police and town. The sense of humor in a police station, he said, can be very different than in other professional settings.
“Waving a knife around, saying ‘Slash, slash ’ . . . it happens. It happens and people laugh, for the most part,” he said. “But this was offensive. He offended people. That’s why he suffered a very severe penalty.”
Yeah, SOMETIMES BULLYING is FUNNY!
But you know, that specialized elite thug squad loves you and is protecting you from terrorists, blah, blah, blah, blah.
The narrative in this warped land is beyond Orwellian these days and nothing less than ill.
Blanchette was arrested on five charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in October 2013, after an investigation by State Police found that he had allegedly repeatedly hit Bettencourt, as well as another officer, and threatened Bettencourt with the knife....

"Upstate N.Y. cities get surplus war machines" Associated Press December 01, 2014
SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Department of Defense has given Syracuse a mine-resistant, ambush-protected vehicle like ones used in Iraq to protect soldiers from IED attacks.
The so-called ‘‘MRAP’’ is a $658,000 terrorist-fighting machine given to cities and counties all over the country through a military surplus program.
Some might say military wa$te.
DeWitt Police Chief Gene Conway, who won the election for Onondaga County sheriff last month, said he was not aware the city had a new mine-resistant vehicle. The vehicle was delivered Aug. 23, 2013, and has been stored since then without being called into action.
Lieutenant Daniel Belgrader, commander of the Syracuse Police Department’s tactical team, said the mine-resistant vehicle is needed to protect officers under fire and to rescue citizens in high-risk situations. It is not armed, he said.
There have been Senate hearings on the need for such heavy equipment in city police forces. Homeland Security officials have testified that the gear helped in the hunt for the Boston Marathon bombers.

"Amid online shopping frenzy, Internet sales tax fight picks up" by Jessica Meyers, Globe Staff November 30, 2014
WASHINGTON — Key lawmakers and major retailers, eager to seize on a short window of opportunity, plan to use the waning weeks of this Congress to push a long-stalled bill that would force Internet retailers to collect state sales taxes.
Un-flipping-believable.
This lame duck Congre$$'s to-do list includes "keeping the government running into the new year, renewing expired tax breaks for individuals and businesses, and approving a defense policy measure that has passed for more than 50 years in a row, Obama’s requests for money to combat Islamic State militants, battle Ebola, and deal with the influx of unaccompanied Central American children who have crossed into the United States, while among the lower-profile items on the agenda are renewing the government’s terrorism risk insurance program and extending the ban on state and federal taxes on access to the Internet."
What that means is fund their own perks, renew tax breaks for the wealthy and corporations, take care of the war machine and illegals, setting up a fund to dole out tax loot to those favored business affected by self-serving false flags from this government, and taxing the Internet to pay for it all!!
As for seizing on the short window of opportunity, they have had more than two years to do it.
WTF???!!!!
Gonna SNEAK IT ALL THROUGH when you are NOT PAYING ATTENTION, taxpayers!
With the online holiday shopping frenzy jolting to a start this week — beginning with what is now commonly called Cyber Monday — the reinvigorated battle in Washington could determine how much customers pay for online goods and how much states benefit from increased sales tax figures.
How much they may "reap," I am told later.
It's money-grabbing government at every level!
The high-dollar battle pits physical Main Street against the virtual one. Its outcome, both sides warn, also will affect the future of America’s small businesses – from the cozy bookshop in Acton to the online jewelry store near Cape Cod.
They are pretty much dead anyway.
**********
Massachusetts Treasurer Steven Grossman, a backer of the bill, said the additional tax revenue could help spur state investment.
“If anybody wants to fund universal prekindergarten or infrastructure investments, this is the best way to do it,” Grossman said.
Yeah, MORE TAXES are what is needed says the soon-to-be ex-treasurer and former head of AIPAC.
Just ignore the pay raises they just gave themselves (Happy Thanksgiving to Self!) while midyear budget cuts are imposed during an alleged economic recovery (and never you mind the $80 million in loot given to Hollywood or the debt interest on the biotech boondoggle)!
Buy into the myth we always get: If we don't raise taxes, drastic service cuts will follow. The taxes are raised, and the services are cut anyway!
All during a booming economy(?)!
**********
Taxpayers are supposed to report and pay the uncollected sales tax from their online purchases when they file state income taxes. But many fail to do so, and states often do not crack down on them for it.
This blog is advertising-free and always will be.
A version of the bill passed the Senate last year 69 to 27, with support from 21 Republicans. Senate majority leader Harry Reid vowed this fall to help propel the legislation through Congress before Republicans take control of the Senate in January....
Reid could include it as part of a broader legislative package that addresses tax laws set to expire Dec 11. A spokesman for House Speaker John A. Boehner has said he does not plan to take up the legislation this year, although Representative Jason Chaffetz, a prominent Utah Republican, is working on a compromise bill.
Meaning we ARE GETTING TAXES on the INTERNET!
**********
Senator Ted Cruz, Republican of Texas, has no intention of letting that happen. Flanked by conservative groups at a recent press conference, Cruz referred to the legislation as “the height of lunacy.”
He slammed the bill as a tax increase that would destroy opportunities for small online businesses by subjecting them to thousands of tax jurisdictions.
“Don’t mess with the freedom of the Internet that allows people with nothing to start mom-and-pop online retailers and start toward the American dream,” he said.
You may not like him, but he's right on that one.
Maybe that i$ the point. It's a corporate government, folks.
Consumers are increasingly turning to online shopping, with Cyber Monday’s purchasing spree a prime example.
So we are pimped, I mean, promoted, I mean, told, by my propaganda pre$$ trying to sell me on (insert item or issue here).
Cyber Monday desktop online spending reached $1.7 billion last year, up 18 percent from the previous year. This crowned it the heaviest online spending day in history, according to comScore, an Internet analytics company.
Overall e-commerce is expected to increase from 8 percent of retail sales in 2013 to 11 percent in 2018, estimated Cambridge-based Forrester Research, a technology research company.
While Amazon supports the legislation, online marketplace eBay has become the most vocal retailer to oppose it.
The company recently drew up form letters, asking consumers to tell lawmakers they should oppose a last-minute vote this year. The Senate-passed bill would apply to businesses with at least $1 million in online sales, a threshold the company wants raised.
“Legislation should support small businesses, not put them out of business,” the letter reads. “Unfortunately, the Senate-passed Internet sales tax legislation will make these businesses less competitive against big national retailers.”
Smaller online startups share similar concerns.
“It’s scary,” said Melinda Reed, who sells coastal-themed products across the country from Mattapoisett. The website for Ocean Offerings offers sea shell flatware, dune jewelry, and nautical charts.
Reed collects sales taxes on Massachusetts orders but worries how she would coordinate them for the fish rings that go through New Mexico or the gurgle pots that head to Texas.
“To try and manage that for a small business,” she said, “I can’t imagine.” I can.

And since it is now Cyber Monday:
"Reverberations of the Ferguson events were evident at the St. Louis Rams’ game against Oakland Sunday. Inside the Edward Jones Dome, five Rams players engaged in their own apparent show of solidarity for Ferguson protesters, standing with their arms raised in a ‘‘Hands Up’’ gesture before trotting onto the field for pregame introductions. All five — Tavon Austin, Kenny Britt, Stedman Bailey, Jared Cook, and Chris Givens — are black. After the game, about 100 protesters marched in the area near the Edward Jones Dome, chanting, ‘‘Ram fans — join the movement.’’ When about three dozen St. Louis officers in riot gear showed up to make sure things didn’t get out of hand, many of the fans broke out in spontaneous applause for the officers.
I'm sorry, but this slop truly is beyond belief.
The US Justice Department is conducting a civil rights investigation into the shooting and a separate investigation of police department practices. It is not clear when those results will be announced. After the grand jury’s decision was announced, 12 commercial buildings in Ferguson were destroyed by fire. There have been more than 100 arrests at St. Louis-area protests since that time."
Yup, the U.S. Justice Department is watching those officers, yup.

"Anatomy of a riot
by John Kaminski
01 December 2014
The issues are all jumbled up, and it looks like our government wants it that way.
A giant black young punk who attacked a cop was shot to death, and
practically all over the world, distraught individuals demanding justice
from cockeyed courts and safety from killer police lamented his passing
by committing a variety of criminal acts, with the tacit encouragement
of both government and government-controlled media.
Working against the very purpose protesters seek to showcase, this
warped political correctness runs amok, bring with it a universal
endorsement of violence because of a situation that was totally
misrepresented.
I can’t decide if it was a massive case of the doing the wrong
things for the right reasons, or doing the right things for the wrong
reasons.
I don’t know any white people who would have behaved the way the
black people of Ferguson, Missouri did when they didn’t get their way
with a grand jury which sensibly determined that a police officer had
every right to defend himself with deadly force against a rampaging
black and oversized sociopath who had just committed a crime, a strong
arm robbery, that was captured on film.<http://elitedaily.com/news/world/police-report-photos-brown-stealing/713045/>
And the question of whether the violence that followed was the work
of a whole community or simply the incendiary antics of
government-employed provocateurs remains essentially unanswered, but
supremely relevant.
The YouTube video that shows the victim stealing cigarillos and bullying the owner of the store
who wanted him to pay for them is all you need to know about Michael
Brown, a hoodlum who attacked a cop and paid for it with his life.
Certainly, he was no blameless victim unjustifiably murdered by a crazed
cop motivated by racist hatred.
Why the people who create urban legends elevated Michael Brown to
this weird kind of sainthood remains a question that likely will
determine the future of the United States.
And the primary question I have is — when you punch a cop in the
face and try to steal his gun, shouldn’t you expect to be shot? It would
seem to be a reasonable expectation to me.
A confusion of cops and criminals
There are really two issues at work here, colliding at cross
purposes. The first is the practice of blacks feeling righteous about
their persecution and lashing out without any thought about the
consequences of their actions. But the second and more serious issue is
about the epidemic of police violence throughout the United States and
the world.
This change in the basic attitude of police toward the public seems
to come on the heels of the training of U.S. cops in Israel, which has
resulted in the ramping up of hair-trigger violence against the public,
the epidemic of police shootings of innocent people and pets, and the
failure to prosecute law enforcement officials and politicians who have
crossed the line and committed rapes and murders, but then are not
fairly punished for their crimes.
Officer Friendly, a program once started to improve police relations
with the public, doesn’t seem to exist anymore. Now it’s all about a
police state in which you don’t want to call the police for help anymore
lest you wind up being killed by accident, or by the pathologically
vicious behavior of timid men who become brave and cruel behind a badge
and really don’t care who they kill.
The violence that erupted following the grand jury’s decision is a major setback for civil rights in the United States.
In the minds of many whites, including mine, blacks have proved that
they don’t deserve to be treated equally. For failing to understand the
logic of what the prosecutor explained to them, they trashed and burned
hundreds of cars and businesses that were owned by members of their own
community, so senseless and misdirected was their mindless rage.
Also in the minds of many white people is a silent vow never to vote
for any black candidate again after seeing how Barack Obama and his
cadre of black celebrities like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and black
flunky officials like Eric Holder make it easier for the entire black
community to break the law, and seem to deliberately facilitate this
behavior.
In fact, Obama’s demolition of the U.S. Constitution and making laws
by executive order that ignore the will of both Congress and the people
send a clear message to the black community that it’s OK to break the
law.
But this is not about agitators, this is about the general run of
the black population ignoring logic, flouting the law and turning to
violent, self destructive behavior.
This is about Rudy Giuliani saying that 75 percent of the killings in New York City are committed by blacks.
This is about Obama telling teachers to “go easy” on black
miscreants, about a nationwide phenomenon called the Knockout Game, and
about such Hollywood movies as Django Unchained which glorify the
killing of whites. As the violence intensifies and becomes more common,
the media and Hollywood movies misleadingly paint all blacks as noble
heroes and all whites as callous abusers.
This is a deliberate inversion of the truth. Who was it liberated blacks from their slavery if it wasn’t whites?
Is it not blacks emulating the behavior of whites that is most
profitable to them? When whites imitate the behavior of blacks, we get
the very specific irrational conditions that set the town of Ferguson,
Missouri on fire.
Unfortunately, that is what our government is trying to promote — a
society in which every movement and every thought of every person is
totally controlled, without regard to what the motives, purpose and
ultimate social benefit of those actions might be. A society composed
crazed Africans reveling in mayhem will be much more easy to suppress
and abuse than one being civilized and following the law.
Looters must always be shot on sight
Were officials in St. Louis actually prepared for the reaction of
this mindless mob to the just verdict of the grand jury, there should be
hundreds of vandals dead or injured because, following the disaster
rules that pertained to the New Orleans flooding and other hurricanes,
tornadoes and natural catastrophes, looters should always be shot on
sight.
Gunning down a dozen or so opportunists stealing liquor or
televisions would have put a mighty quick stop to the practice — which
is exactly the point of shooting looters without a second thought.
But the CNN cameras captured hundreds of mostly black looters
stealing from a plundered liquor store and other business
establishments, without a cop in sight.
There are really two issues at play in these events and their
combination impedes understanding of each one without first separating
them.
The mixing of two things makes it impossible to distinguish one from the
other: wanton police violence vs. berserk black crime. Why the eager
orgy of violence, why the trigger happy response by cops? Two different
things that must solved separately.
Why are they looting? I’m sorry to say it is because they’re black
and poor, with no chance for a rap future without the welfare check,
that allows them to drink themselves into a stupor and forget about
their hapless condition. It happens in the black sections of every big
city in America, and the condition of the black ghettoes in most of
these cities is further evidence of the attitude that no matter what
advantages such as Affirmative Action have brought to black
neighborhoods, resorting to their anarchistic African natures is an
inextinguishable phenomenon.
One need only witness the consternation throughout Europe caused by
savages of color mass raping the white female population to understand
what I’m saying.
When the Jews talk about the value of diversity, they’re really
talking about the value bringing the savagery of the jungle to the
streets of America in order to destabilize civilization and make it
easier for them to establish a totalitarian police state.
Why are cops brutalizing so many innocent people, killing innocent
victims who are guilty of no more than puffing on a joint or failing to
pay a transit fare?
The answer is really simple. It is because more than a century of
Jewish-controlled media have convinced you to trust your enemies and
distrust your friends (which is the essence of the teaching of the
Frankfurt School of sociology that has destroyed and is destroying
family structures throughout the world). Your enemy, I’m sorry to tell
you, is your government, and by trusting it, you have forfeited your
well being and your life.
The reason why we should assassinate all those in favor of gun
control is because they advocate taking your weapons away for the very
purpose they have in mind, which is to take your life and your property
with a minimum amount of resistance.
Numerous writers have noted that throughout the whole episode of
Michael Brown’s very public death, the government seems to have arranged
things to create the maximum amount of chaos. Its failure to deploy the
national guard before the controversial verdict seemed to invite arson
and mayhem. Then there were the rumors that a number of these fires
appeared to have been professionally ignited.
Many critics have noted the timing of the verdict to be announced at
9 o’clock at night seemed to maximize the possibility of maximum
violence.
It’s hard to refute the notion that the government wants this country to
be torn apart, fulfilling the wishes of their Jewish masters to turn
the entire American landscape into Palestine. Isn’t it only a matter of
time before local police departments and the Department of Homeland
Security take their new MRAPs (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected armored
vehicles) and hollow point bullets into American cities to quell dissent
and destruction that the U.S. government has itself created by the
hiring of domestic al-Qaeda type thugs who will do anything for money?
Provocative propaganda triggers people into protesting government
atrocities for the wrong reasons so that no sense can be made out of the
demonstrations. As with support for abortion or the legalization of
drugs, we’re punishing the wrong people for the wrong things.
Learning to defend ourselves
Perhaps the best and only bright hope that can evolve from this
cynical syndrome is that their whole program to trigger some kind of
race war might backfire when people of all colors realize that this
police war on the people is not just a white on black thing (especially
when you have a black president), but it is really a war on all the
people in which blacks and whites can unite and overthrow this
totalitarian regime that is ultimately controlled by the Jewish puppet
masters who seek the destruction of every country that is not their own.
Although it has never happened, law enforcement needs to focus on
the out of control white collar crime engineered from the very top of
the political food chain that deprives people of their livelihood. The
recent failure of the corrupt government in Washington to investigate
all the stolen money and corrupt practices of bankers has done far more
harm and killed far more people than these FBI-fantasy terrorists could
ever hope to kill.
As our bought off Communist government works to deprive its
beleaguered citizens of every way to defend themselves from tyranny and
torture, the most critically important measure for people to remain safe
in their homes is keeping the population fully armed and expertly
trained in the use of firearms.
The lesson of Switzerland where every citizen is required to be
armed and thoroughly trained in the use of firearms is the proper way to
fight crime.
This is the only way to effectively thwart the plan of Obama and the
rich men who own him from turning America and the world into a
Communist dictatorship, because the police will not protect you. The
police only protect the bankers and their property.
And the Department of Homeland Security only protects rich Jews, who
seek to turn the United States of America into another Palestine, and
are well on their way to achieving their goal, all because brainwashed
Americans refuse to recognize the true nature of Jews and their totally
evil agenda.

Time to forget about that and go shopping!
"Cyber Monday’s status grows as more dollars go online" by Mae AndersonAssociated Press December 01, 2014
NEW YORK — After a busy holiday weekend in shopping malls, millions of Americans are expected to log on and keep shopping on the day dubbed Cyber Monday.
I want you to keep that phrase in mind for the article that appears immediately below (as it did in my printed paper. Yes, they really put one above the other in print).
Since 2010, the Monday after Thanksgiving has been the biggest online shopping day of the year. It could take on added importance after a Thanksgiving weekend that saw lower spending than last year. The research firm comScore expects people to spend about $2.5 billion on Cyber Monday.
But it was busy.
There’s reason to think a lot of dollars are migrating online.
This is how they must explain the constant stream of wealth upward and the destruction of the middle class.
PayPal’s global mobile payments volume jumped 47 percent Thanksgiving Day, compared with last year. Walmart had more than 500 million page views, and eBay sold 2,000 iPad Air 2 tablets at $399 each.
Amazon has been offering deals since Nov. 21, adding new discounts as often as every 10 minutes. They include up to 45 percent off some Samsung TVs and 28 percent off Beats by Dre headphones. Walmart said it has doubled its Cyber Week deals to 500, compared with last year, including up to half off some TVs, tablets and toys with free-shipping offers. Toys ‘R’ Us is offering online deals for 11 days that began Wednesday and has free-shipping offers.
The name ‘‘Cyber Monday’’ was coined in 2005 by the National Retail Federation’s online arm, Shop.org to encourage people to shop online.
Be sure to use your agenda-pu$hing AmeriKan Expre$$ card.
‘‘Online is nowhere near its maturity, so Cyber Monday should be big, with a lot of strength in the days leading up to it,’’ Forester Research analyst Sucharita Mulpuru said.
ComScore expects online sales to rise 16 percent to $61 billion for November and December, up 16 percent from last year. It tracks online sales based on a representative US consumer panel of 2 million Web users.

It's all $ooooo good!
"Black Friday weekend loses allure" by Anne D’Innocenzio, Associated Press December 01, 2014
NEW YORK — Black Friday fatigue is setting in.
Early discounting, more online shopping, and a mixed economy meant fewer people shopped over Thanksgiving weekend, the National Retail Federation said Sunday.
But it was a busy holiday weeke.... never f***ing mind!!!!!!!!
Overall, 133.7 million people shopped in stores and online over the four-day weekend, down 5.2 percent from last year, according to a survey of 4,631 people conducted by Prosper Insights & Analytics for the trade group.
Total spending for the weekend is expected to fall 11 percent to $50.9 billion from an estimated $57.4 billion last year, the trade group estimated.
This when the economy is really insulated and taking off!
Part of the reason is that Target, J.C. Penney, Macy’s, Walmart and other major retailers pushed fat discounts as early as Halloween. Some opened stores even earlier on Thanksgiving. All that stole some thunder from Black Friday and the rest of the weekend.
Still, the preliminary data make retailers worried that shoppers remain frugal despite improving employment rates and falling gas prices.
We have no money, sorry.
Matt Shay, the trade group’s CEO, said he thinks people benefiting from the recovery may not feel the need to fight crowds to get the deepest discount on a TV or toaster. And those who feel like the recession never ended may not have the money and will stretch out what they spend through Christmas.
And shoppers are still feeling the effects of high food prices and stagnant wages.
‘‘While they’re more optimistic, they’re very cautious,’’ Shay said. ‘‘If the deals are not right for them, they’re not going to spend.’’
Bottom line: Expect more deep discounts, all season long.
‘‘Every day will be Black Friday. Every minute will be Cyber Monday,’’ he said.
This $hamele$$ attempt to $ell, $ell, $ell his on shopping, wars, and all the rest is really becoming disgustingly distasteful. Sorry.
That could be what it takes to get shoppers to open their wallets for the holiday shopping season, which accounts for about 20 percent of annual retail sales.
You mi$erly con$umers, you!
Did I mention I'm also sick of the in$ulting eliti$m?
Besides economic factors, people are becoming more discerning when they shop. Armed with smartphones and price-comparison apps, they know what’s a good deal — and what’s not.
Kimani Brown, 39, of New York City, was among Black Friday defectors. After four years of braving the crowds, the sales failed to lure him out this year.
‘‘I consider myself a smart shopper. And it’s not as alluring as it used to be,’’ Brown said. ‘‘It’s a marketing tool, and I don’t want to be pulled into it.’’
He also said the frenzy pushed him to overspend, and he paid the price in January on his credit card statement.
Instead, he said he will look online Monday, the shopping day often called Cyber Monday.

Yup, Black Friday has lost its allure:
"Department store worker shot on Black Friday dies" Associated Press December 01, 2014
CHICAGO — A 22-year-old woman died a day after she was shot inside a Nordstrom department store in Chicago during Black Friday shopping, authorities said Sunday.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office said Nadia Ezaldein, 22, who was a seasonal employee of the store, was pronounced dead at 3:43 p.m. Saturday.
Police said Marcus Dee, 31, shot Ezaldein, his former girlfriend, before killing himself.
Officers found Ezaldein dead when they arrived Friday night at the store in Chicago’s Magnificent Mile shopping district.
The store was closed Saturday, an important holiday shopping day, and reopened Sunday.
Nordstrom spokeswoman Tara Darrow called the shootings a ‘‘really sad and scary situation.’’
She said the company is doing its best to support employees, with counselors available over the coming week.
Authorities say there was no threat to other customers or employees during the attack. An investigation is ongoing.

NEXT DAY UPDATES:
Cyber Monday is yielding to Cyber Month
Shopping was less robust online on Monday, compared with prior years after a weekend that saw 5.3 percent fewer shoppers and 11 percent less spending, according to estimates by the National Retail Federation.
This when we face a truncated shopping season due to the lateness of Thanksgiving.
Turns out Cyber Monday was a dud, just like Black Friday and Small Business Saturday. The American consumer simply no longer has any money. It's all at the top. That's why we will now have a Cyber Month's worth of promotion.
