"Cyclist, cars hit by driver, Chelsea police say" by Kiera Blessing, Globe Correspondent December 16, 2014
An 18-year-old allegedly driving under the influence of drugs struck a bicyclist and five vehicles before he was arrested in Chelsea Monday night, police said.
Joseph Piasecki of Chelsea, who was also also injured, was taken to Whidden Hospital in Everett and was discharged later that night.
He was allegedly under the influence of a Class C drug, a category that includes prescription drugs. Piasecki’s 15-year-old passenger was not injured but was taken to the hospital as a precaution, police said.
Piasecki pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Tuesday in Chelsea District Court to charges of operating under the influence, motor vehicle violations, and illegal possession of a Class C drug. The police investigation is continuing....
A pretrial hearing is set for Jan. 9.
