Boyce Busted in Brockton

"Wakefield man charged with weapons, drug possession

A Wakefield man was arrested in Brockton on Monday night after a state trooper allegedly found two illegal weapons and a bag of what was believed to be cocaine in his car, State Police said. James Boyce, 55, was stopped on Main Street in Brockton for a motor vehicle violation at about 8 p.m., State Police said in a posting on their blog. After an investigation, Boyce was found to be in possession of a white, rock-like substance that was believed to be cocaine, a loaded handgun, and a stun gun in the shape of a flashlight, State Police said. Boyce faces numerous charges, including carrying a firearm without a license, possession of an electric stun gun, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (subsequent offense), and failure to stop/yield. Boyce was arraigned in Brockton District Court Tuesday morning, where an automatic not-guilty plea was entered and a $25,000 cash bail was imposed. He will reappear in court Jan. 7.
