South Africa Sucks

So we are led to believe; I think it is because they are now run by a group that supported the Palestinian cause all these years (how could they not?), that us newsreaders are given that impression.

And remember, Israel was the apartheid regime's last, best friend. Even tried to sell 'em nuclear bombs so they could, what, take care of their black problem once and for all?

"Dalai Lama assails China travel ban

JOHANNESBURG - The Dalai Lama yesterday sharply criticized China, which is accused of blocking him from traveling to South Africa to celebrate Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s 80th birthday. The Tibetan spiritual leader spoke with Tutu and answered questions via a video link instead of attending an event honoring South Africa’s antiapartheid hero a day after his birthday. The Dalai Lama said communist propaganda portrayed him as a demon, as he raised his index fingers to his temples, drawing a laugh from his fellow Nobel peace laureate."

Tutu is fine to the MSM -- until he opens his mouth about Palestine.

Sorry, but anyone who wins that award is part of the global elite. It's a clap-themselves-on-the-back kind of thing. I complain about Gandhi never getting one, but now I see that in itself is an award.

I guess I ruined the party, 'eh?

"In S. Africa, crackdown on corruption" October 25, 2011|Associated Press

"S. Africa Parliament OK’s state secrets bill, despite opposition" November 23, 2011|Associated Press

JOHANNESBURG - The governing African National Congress pushed a bill through South Africa’s Parliament yesterday to protect state secrets, despite strong objections from opposition politicians including white conservatives and black nationalists who were enemies under apartheid.

At least they brought those guys together.

Opponents, who include church and business leaders and Nobel laureates, say the measure will keep government corruption under wraps, stifle whistle-blowing, and undermine the hard-won democracy created with apartheid’s end 17 years ago. But the ANC says South Africa needed to update apartheid-era legislation defining secrets and setting out punishments for divulging them, and that it has no intention of trampling on free expression.

Opponents had expected Parliament, where the ANC has a large majority, to approve the bill. They were already preparing to challenge the measure at the Constitutional Court if it became law....
