"Deaths on rise from gastrointestinal illness" New York Times, March 20, 2012
NEW YORK - Two-thirds of the deaths were caused by a bacterium, Clostridium difficile, which people often contract in hospitals and nursing homes, particularly when they have been taking antibiotics. The bacteria have grown increasingly virulent and resistant to treatment.
Both diseases are often spread by people who did not wash their hands after using the toilet....
Yeah, okay, maybe, but why would I believe the mouthpiece media anymore? If they claim something is true you have to doubt it right from the start.

Maybe it was something in the water:
"Gas well trouble not revealed to Pa. town" February 28, 2012
PITTSBURGH - At least two gas wells near a community that has complained of sudden drinking water pollution developed casing problems during the drilling process, but neither Rex Energy Corp. nor state environmental regulators disclosed those problems during recent discussions about the contamination.

I was thinking of another word, but....
A cement well casing is meant to prevent natural gas or fluids from leaking into nearby aquifers during the drilling and hydrofracturing of wells.
There is no proof that the casing problems at Rex drilling sites caused the contamination for at least 10 households in the rural Woodlands community.
But residents and environmental groups said yesterday that they were distressed to learn of the casing problems. The state Department of Environmental Protection, they said, does not seem to understand that the lack of full transparency fuels public mistrust.
I wouldn't believe government or its mouthpiece at this point even if they were telling God's own truth.
Since early last year, people have complained of suddenly discolored and smelly water, unexplained illnesses, and tests that suggest the presence of industrial chemicals.
But government and industry say it isn't them.
Yesterday, the state agency said Rex had corrected the casing issues. State records indicate no fines were levied. Rex has said that extensive tests of area well water found “no notable differences in water chemistry between pre- and post-drill water quality tests of the water wells in question,’’ but some residents disagree.
The company also said that many other homeowners in the area have not raised concerns about their well water.

Then maybe they should stop doing that.
And it ain't called a war paper for nothing:
"Water needs may lead to conflicts, US warns" by Matthew Lee | Associated Press, March 23, 2012
WASHINGTON - Drought, floods, and a lack of fresh water may cause significant global instability and conflict in the coming decades, as developing countries scramble to meet demand from exploding populations while dealing with the effects of climate change, US intelligence agencies said in a report released Thursday.
Yeah, ANY EXCUSE for a WAR and to push the agenda.
An assessment reflecting the joint judgment of federal intelligence agencies says the risk of water issues causing wars in the next 10 years is minimal even as they create tensions within and between states and threaten to disrupt national and global food markets. But beyond 2022, it says, the use of water as a weapon of war or a tool of terrorism will become more likely, particularly in South Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa.
You HAVE BEEN WARNED, Americans!! Time to start STOCKING UP on the AGUA and AMMO!
The report is based on a classified National Intelligence Estimate on water security, which was requested by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and completed last fall.
These are the same guys that told you Saddam had nukes!
It says floods, scarce and poor quality water, combined with poverty, poor leadership, and weak governments will contribute to instability that could lead to the failure of numerous states.
Any excuse to invade people, 'eh?
Those elements “will likely increase the risk of instability and state failure, exacerbate regional tensions, and distract countries from working with the United States on important policy objectives,’’ said the report, released at a State Department event commemorating World Water Day.
Clinton, who unveiled a new US Water Partnership that aims to share American water management expertise with the rest of the world, called the findings sobering. “These threats are real and they do raise serious security concerns,’’ she said.
That is one good thing about reading the paper: it is ALL AGENDA ALL the TIME!!!
The report noted that countries have tried to resolve water issues through negotiation but said that could change as shortages become more severe.
“We judge that as water shortages become more acute beyond the next 10 years, water in shared basins will increasingly be used as leverage; the use of water as a weapon or to further terrorist objectives also will become more likely beyond 10 years,’’ it said.
Did the report mention Israel stealing Palestinian water?

Article made me kind of pissed.
Seeing as we are in the shitter:
"New Earhart search in works" March 21, 2012|Matthew Lee, Associated Press
WASHINGTON - Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton had encouraging words Tuesday for a new investigation into one of the 20th century’s most enduring mysteries: the fate of American aviator Amelia Earhart, who disappeared without a trace over the South Pacific 75 years ago....
Pfffft!
Yes, a nice, safe, uncontroversial mystery that, with all due respect, no one gives a shit.
Earhart was an inspiration to Americans in difficult times as the nation struggled to emerge from the Great Depression, Clinton said, adding that her legacy can serve as a model for the country now.
That is SO RANK, readers. This CONDESCENDING CRAPOLA served up by our leaders has really become sickening.
“Amelia Earhart may have been a unlikely heroine for a nation down on its luck, but she embodies the spirit of an America coming of age and increasingly confident, ready to lead in a quite uncertain and dangerous world,’’ Clinton said at a State Department event to announce the new search. “She gave people hope and she inspired them to dream bigger and bolder.’’
Yes, and she was apparently an AGENT of EMPIRE!!
“After a long decade of war, terrorism, and recession, there are some who are asking whether we still have what it takes to lead, and like that earlier generation we too could use some of Amelia’s spirit,’’ she said.
Earhart and her navigator Fred Noonan disappeared July 2, 1937, while flying from New Guinea to Howland Island as part of her attempt to become the first female pilot to circumnavigate the globe.
Extensive searches at the time uncovered nothing and many historians are convinced they crashed into the ocean.
But the aircraft recovery group believes Earhart and Noonan may have managed to land on a reef abutting the atoll and survived for a short time. They surmise that the plane was washed off the reef by high tides shortly after the landing and that the wreckage may be found in the deep waters nearby.
Their previous visits to the island have recovered artifacts that could have belonged to Earhart and Noonan and suggest they might have lived for days or weeks. Now, they are armed with new analysis of an October 1937 photo of the shoreline of the island. That analysis shows what government specialists believe may be a strut and wheel of a Lockheed Electra landing gear protruding from the water.
Renowned oceanographer Robert Ballard, who discovered the wreckage of the Titanic and is advising the Earhart expedition, said the new analysis of the photograph could be the equivalent of a “smoking gun’’ as it narrows the search area.
Ric Gillespie, executive director of the group, said the search is scheduled to last for 10 days in July and will use underwater robotic submarines and mapping equipment. The Discovery Channel will film the expedition for a documentary, he said.
The Obama administration takes no position on any purported evidence. But Clinton, who noted that the State Department and other federal agencies had actively supported Earhart’s flight, cheered the searchers on.
So she was a U.S. spy, huh?

Man, what a stench! Maybe I should take a smoke.
