Slow Saturday Special: CBS Assists Benghazi Cover-Up

For those turning here for answers as to what happened when and where, you will find none. What you will find is a complete lack of faith in the AmeriKan media.

"‘60 Minutes’ retracts Benghazi story" by Paul Farhi |  Washington Post, November 09, 2013

CBS News correspondent Lara Logan on Friday retracted and apologized for a ‘‘60 Minutes’’ report based on a supposed eyewitness to the terrorist attacks on the US diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya.

Logan, appearing on ‘‘CBS This Morning,’’ said the network was ‘‘misled’’ by the man, Dylan Davies, who told ‘‘60 Minutes’’ last week that he had witnessed the Sept. 11, 2012, attack that left four Americans dead, including US ambassador J. Christopher Stevens.

That seems to happen to them a lot!

‘‘The most important thing to every person at ‘60 Minutes’ is the truth, and the truth is we made a mistake,’’ said a chastened Logan, who had reported the original story.

Whatever the "truth" is, it is not to be found in an AmeriKan newspaper or on an AmeriKan television set. End of program, sorry. That is the key point I am making here this morning.

No matter what it is in the pages of my newspaper and on the screens of my television, it is not to be believed. It could be God's own truth coming from on high; however, the me$$anger has forfeited their right to be believed with the endle$$ agenda-pu$hing and lies.

Click.

On the ‘‘60 Minutes’’ broadcast, Davies — who used the pseudonym Morgan Jones — described scaling the walls of the diplomatic facility and encountering several attackers, including one whom he said he disabled with a blow from his rifle butt. He also recounted his clandestine visit that night to a hospital to view Stevens’ body.

With it now unclear where Davies had been, publisher Simon & Schuster said Friday it was withdrawing his book, ‘‘The Embassy House: The Explosive Eyewitness Account of the Libyan Embassy Siege by the Soldier Who Was There.’’ It was published on the conservative Threshold Editions imprint two days after the ‘‘60 Minutes’’ story.

CBS has also admitted it was wrong not to have disclosed to ‘‘60 Minutes’’ viewers that Simon & Schuster, like CBS News, is owned by the CBS Corp.

The “60 Minutes” report helped fuel another round of GOP accusations against the State Department and the Obama administration over their account of the attack.

Senator Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican, said he would block confirmation of Obama’s nominees, including Jeh Johnson as homeland security secretary and Janet Yellen as head of the Federal Reserve, until the administration allowed government witnesses to the attack to appear before Congress.

AmeriKan media will never get to the bottom of that.

And the conventional myth is reinforced once again.

That fart-in-your-face laugher goes right into the toilet with Abul Qaqa

I think these ghosts they create and the names they give them are done on purpose, just one more elite insult towards a dumbed-down, stoopid public.

The Washington Post raised questions about Davies’ account in an article published on Oct. 31, four days after the ‘‘60 Minutes’’ broadcast.

It's a well-known fact that the WaPo is the CIA's newspaper.

The story noted that Davies gave his employer a different account of his experiences that night than the one he gave Logan on ‘‘60 Minutes,’’ the most prestigious newsmagazine show on television.

Not anymore (not that I was ever watching it. Truth be told, it's been decades since I considered that show relevant).

In a 2½-page incident report to Blue Mountain, the Britain-based contractor hired by the State Department to handle perimeter security at the compound, Davies said he spent most of that night at his Benghazi villa. ‘‘We could not get anywhere near [the diplomatic compound] . . . as roadblocks had been set up,’’ he wrote.

Logan said Friday morning that Davies had denied the report when CBS questioned him about it, and said he had told the FBI the same story he recounted on ‘‘60 Minutes.’’

"Internal Revenue Service official exits amid scrutiny" by Stephen Ohlemacher |  Associated Press, September 24, 2013

WASHINGTON — Facing a possible firing, the Internal Revenue Service official at the center of the agency’s imbroglio with Tea Party groups retired Monday, ending one chapter in a saga that has engulfed the tax-collection agency since spring.

It's more than that, it's an impeachable crime. Using the IRS to target political enemies was one of the charges against Nixon.

Lois Lerner headed the IRS division that handles applications for tax-exempt status when she was placed on paid leave in May. While she was in charge, the agency acknowledged that agents improperly targeted Tea Party groups for extra scrutiny when they applied for tax-exempt status during the 2010 and 2012 elections.

    IRS has $ome, too!

Lerner first disclosed the targeting at a law conference in May, when she was asked a planted question about IRS treatment of political groups.

Some people believe that question was planted to draw attention from Benghazi; however, think of the larger issue there. An alleged free and open forum had a planted question?

How many NEWS CONFERENCES have PLANTED QUESTIONS to ADVANCE SOME AGENDA? Forget about the law forum, or those who reported it (wink, wink).

Less than two weeks later, she refused to answer questions at a congressional hearing, citing her constitutional right not to incriminate herself.

A day after the hearing she was placed on paid leave at the age of 62.

Lerner’s retirement came as a review board was set to propose that she be fired, said a statement by Representative Sander Levin of Michigan, the top Democrat on the tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee.

The board found her tenure was marred by ‘‘neglect of duties’’ and mismanagement consistent with an inspector general’s report issued in May, Levin’s statement said. The board, however, did not issue any findings of political bias or willful misconduct.

Lerner’s lawyer did not respond Monday to a request for comment.

Republicans in Congress have repeatedly called for her to be fired. The IRS confirmed Lerner’s retirement but said in a statement privacy laws prevented it from commenting further about an individual employee.

Lerner is an attorney who joined the IRS in 2001. In brief remarks before she invoked her right not to testify before the House Oversight Committee, Lerner expressed pride in her 34-year career in federal government, which has included work at the Justice Department and Federal Election Commission.

    That ends in utter disgrace.

As director of the exempt organizations division, she oversaw 900 workers and a budget approaching $100 million.

Lerner’s revelation at the May 10 tax conference set off a firestorm at the agency. President Obama forced the acting commissioner to resign and much of the agency’s top leadership was replaced.

The acting commissioner was due to leave a month later so Obama really had a lot of leverage. Never you mind the obfuscation, the important myth, 'er, message to get out of this is that the IRS has been cleaned up by Obama -- just in time to pour over your tax records to levy tax penalties regarding Obamacare.

Gee, I hope their software program is better than the one at healthcare.guv!

Three congressional committees and the Justice Department launched investigations.

Lerner left and so did the Globe's attention.

That is all I have seen regarding the Obama alphabet scandals since early September, folks (save the saturation regarding NSA spying, which raises a questions for a different post). Mouthpiece media has dumped them all down the old memory hole.
