Angry About Arlington Artistry

So much for nurturing the creative capabilities of kids.

"A confrontation Wednesday between a parent and the principal of an Arlington elementary school led police to take precautionary measures at the school and go to the man’s home and remove his gun, officials said The reason behind the argument was not detailed Friday. Many parents were outraged to find out about the incident through local news reports."

I'm angry that did not make my printed paper that day.

Let's see what else did not make it:

Father loses gun license and rifle after showing permit to principal

The story began June 4, 2014, when Goodwin was called to meet with the principal over a picture that Goodwin’s son drew of the character Gru, from the movie Despicable Me.  The picture depicted Gru shooting ping pong balls at his Minions.  For reasons that defy logic, this picture was considered offense and (WTF!) sexually explicit.

Goodwin argued his point about guns saying that he was a gun owner, and showed Hanna his gun permit.  That was when Hanna turned into a complete pussy, and the police were called in. Goodwin was not arrested, but is not allowed on school grounds unless he is dropping off or picking up his son. The police also added insult to injury by seizing Goodwin’s guns and permit....

Okay, so what we have here is a principal who is either a sexual deviant, or just plain stupid because he believes that there is a sexual meaning to a picture of a Disney character shooting ping pong balls at made up characters called Minions.  Was it the word “balls” that led Hanna to that conclusion?  If that is the case, then it must be unbearable for him at a Red Sox game.

Then after this principal gets on his leftist anti-gun kick, he turns into a complete pussy when Goodwin pulls out his permit.  Okay, if Goodwin had pulled a pistol, then I could understand, but all he pulled out was a piece of paper.  If all it takes to freak this guy out is paper, then I feel sorry for his school if there was ever a real situation, because he would probably just hide under his desk and yell “take the women and children first!”

This is the kind of person who they put in charge of public schools today, a guy with odd sexual hangups who would probably wet himself over a piece of college-ruled paper.  As a parent, I weep for public education today.

School bans dad who showed gun license in argument

And the beat goes on.

So now as the school year draws to a close in Massachusetts, kids are looking forward to summer vacation.  However Robert Goodwin Jr. is looking at something else entirely: moving his son to another school.

“I’m sad because I think we have to transfer out of the school,” Goodwin said in an interview with WBZ CBS Boston.  “He’s going to be bummed he doesn’t get to hang out with all of his friends.”

Thanks for wrecking the kid's life.

"So, the principal calls in the father to complain about the kid drawing a picture of a cartoon character shooting ping pong balls at other cartoon characters, and when the father documents that he is a safe and legal gun owner and sees nothing wrong with the picture, the Principal calls the cops and has his guns seized? Either that principal is a totally limp-dick pussy afraid of his own shadow, or there is an anti-gun agenda being imposed on the entire education system!"--whatreallyhappened

So somebody knows something.

Does the Globe?

"Arlington superintendent supports response to school confrontation" y Melissa Hanson | Globe Correspondent   June 08, 2014

Arlington’s school superintendent said Saturday that police and school officials responded properly to a confrontation last week between an elementary school principal and an angry parent who displayed his license to carry firearms.

“No threats have been made, and the school community was never in any danger,” Superintendent Kathleen Bodie said in an e-mail to parents and school employees. “It is an unfortunate fact of life in a public school system that dramatic, often heated arguments are not a rare occurrence.”

Arlington police said that Robert Goodwin, 40, displayed his gun permit and mentioned having guns in his home during a heated conversation Wednesday with Stratton School principal Michael Hanna.

In Bodie’s message, which was sent to the Globe by a police spokesman, she said that although the response to the incident followed school procedures, it could have been handled better.

See where the Globe is getting their reports? No wonder this stuff is so one-sided.

She said parents should not have had to become aware of what happened through the news media. “I apologize for this, and I regret if any parents, faculty, or staff felt uncomfortable or uneasy about this situation,” Bodie said in the statement.

In a telephone interview Saturday afternoon, however, Bodie said that because a threat was not actually made, it was not protocol to notify parents.

I'm sorry, what?

“Given what had transpired, no, we would not normally send a message,” she said. “I think [the incident] was handled absolutely correctly.”

But could have been handled bette..... arrrrrrrrgggghh!!!!!!

But according to Sonya Coleman, whose daughter attends the school, some parents are still concerned.

“I was disappointed that they downplayed the incident,” she said in a phone interview. “I haven’t talked to a parent yet that feels there was no threat, like Superintendent Bodie is saying.”

After the incident, Arlington police went to Goodwin’s home and removed a gun. Goodwin has been ordered to stay away from school grounds for at least the remainder of the school year, and police said they are still investigating the case.

Both Bodie and Hanna will be at the school Monday afternoon to take questions or comments, according to the prepared statement.

A representative of the parent-teacher organization declined comment.

No reason detailed yet. Why doesn't the Globe want you to know?

"Police seek to charge man in Arlington school confrontation" by Travis Andersen | Globe Staff   June 10, 2014

Police are seeking to charge an Arlington parent with threatening the principal of a town elementary school during an argument on school property, when the man allegedly displayed his gun permit and said he had access to firearms.

Arlington police on Tuesday filed an application for a criminal complaint against Robert Goodwin, 40, in Cambridge District Court, charging him with a misdemeanor count of making verbal threats to commit an assault, police said in a statement.

Except NO THREAT WAS MADE!

A probable cause hearing is scheduled for next week. A clerk magistrate will decide if there is enough evidence to bring the charge.

“The Arlington Police Department takes very seriously any threats made on school grounds or against school officials,” Chief Frederick Ryan said in a statement. “In this day and age, we cannot ignore any threat.”

You guys and your guns are the biggest threat.

So when are you getting disarmed, thug?

Goodwin could not be reached for comment on Tuesday, and it was not known if he had hired a lawyer.

Arlington police have said that Goodwin argued last Wednesday with Michael Hanna, the principal of Stratton Elementary School, where Goodwin’s son is enrolled. The confrontation was sparked by concerns that were raised about a series of drawings the boy had done, according to a law enforcement official who requested anonymity. That official was not authorized to speak about the details of the argument.

Drawings of what?

Goodwin allegedly showed Hanna his gun permit and made references to owning firearms, authorities have said.

Arlington police learned of the incident on Thursday and suspended Goodwin’s firearms license the following day. He also had to hand over his rifle to police and was barred from the Stratton Elementary campus.

On Tuesday, police said Goodwin’s license remains suspended and a no-trespass order for the school is still active.

Goodwin, a musician who operates a blog called contextflexed, said in a statement on the website that Arlington police suspended his permit and decided to “confiscate my legally owned hunting rifle as a proactive precaution because of my sacred First Amendment content; my original music and views.”

One music video on the website, which was publicly accessible last week but blocked on Tuesday, shows Goodwin rapping and brandishing knives.

I'm surprised the cops didn't use that as an excuse to shoot him dead.

He said police showed him data from the state Fusion Center, a law enforcement collaborative that monitors potential public safety threats, about a prior incident that he had on the MBTA, when he refused to submit to an “unlawful search” at the Alewife station in Cambridge.

Looks like "LAW ENFORCEMENT" INTIMIDATION and a THREAT to me, and I was just there.

Good thing the police aren't busy harassing law-abiding citizens who have done nothing wrong other than piss off some self-appointed, self-important piece of school shit.

"The ruling, in which a group of student plaintiffs argued that state tenure laws had deprived them of a decent education by leaving bad teachers in place, was enthusiastically endorsed by Education Secretary Arne Duncan.

And you teachers thought Obummer was your friend!

I guess you really do learn something new every day!

The teachers unions said Tuesday that they planned to appeal. “We believe the judge fell victim to the antiunion, anti-teacher rhetoric and one of American’s finest corporate law firms that set out to scapegoat teachers for the real problems that exist in public education,” said Joshua Pechthalt, the president of the California Federation of Teachers. The decision hands teachers unions a major defeat in a landmark case."

For some reason, Globe thought it not important to mention that same corporate law firm represented George W. Bush in his 2000 presidential election heist.

Honestly, we have nothing in common anymore.

I don't think I will be showing up for Boston Globe classes anymore, kids. Sorry.

And don't worry, monitoring NSA and government pukes. I won't be going on a shooting spree -- unless it is firing off posts here at the Propaganda Pre$$ Monitor.
