A Connecticut school has been accused in a lawsuit of failing to prevent a female staff member from sexually abusing an emotionally disturbed 16-year-old boy. The suit was filed Wednesday in Stamford Superior Court on behalf of the student against Devereux Glenholme School, a therapeutic boarding school in Washington, Conn. The staff member, Brittany Larson, was sentenced last year to nine months in prison after she pleaded guilty to second-degree sexual assault under the Alford doctrine, in which a defendant does not agree with the allegations but concedes the state has enough evidence to convict. The lawsuit alleges that the school failed to take reasonable steps to supervise its staff and the student."
