Sticking It Where the Sun Doesn't Shine in Britain

"Thousands mark summer solstice

LONDON — Self-styled Druids, new-agers, and thousands of revelers watched the sun rise above the ancient stone circle at Stonehenge to mark the summer solstice — the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere. The event was peaceful with only 25 arrests, mainly for drug offenses, according to police (AP)."

Don't they have better things to be doing with their time?

"Abuse by BBC star detailed in report" Associated Press   June 27, 2014

LONDON — The late BBC entertainer Jimmy Savile sexually abused children as young as 5 in hospitals across Britain for decades and claimed to have abused corpses, a series of independent investigations concluded Thursday.

It's worse than thought.

Taking Out the British Trash

Sorry to dump these on you:

FRIENDS OF SIR JIMMY SAVILE
JIMMY SAVILE AND ABU QATADA

The authority on such matters in so many ways, leading to dreadful places when compared to the coverage they get in the propaganda pre$$ I'm reading every day.

The findings, which cover 28 hospitals and date from the 1960s, said Savile used his access to multiple hospitals as a celebrity, volunteer, and fund-raiser to exploit and abuse patients and hospital workers of both sexes. Sixty people at Leeds General Infirmary, ranging in age from 5 to 75 at the time, reported being abused, and investigators reported three cases of rape.

Among the disturbing allegations were claims that Savile had abused the dead. Dr. Sue Proctor, who led the investigations at Leeds, said Savile told a staff member and a journalist that the large rings he wore were made from the ‘‘glass eyes of dead bodies.’’ Proctor said that although the allegations could not be verified, access to hospital mortuaries in the 1980s was ‘‘lax.’’

We are reaching the realm of sickening evil, folks, and for lack of a better term, satanic behavior here.

Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt apologized on behalf of the government, saying the country shared a ‘‘deep sense of revulsion.’’ He said he is writing to health officials to ask them to verify patient safety in light of the findings.

Really not good enough seeing as it was covered up, condoned, and enabled for so many years out of their own offices.

Savile’s reputation collapsed after he died in 2011, when witnesses and victims came forward accusing him of sexual abuse. Police have since described him as a serial sexual predator.

Collapsed faster than a third world trade center tower that fell about half-an-hour late, huh?

"British TV host gets five years for child abuse" Associated Press   July 05, 2014

LONDON — Television entertainer Rolf Harris, who for decades cultivated an image of the affectionate uncle with numerous children’s television programs, was sentenced Friday to five years and nine months in prison for a string of abuses against young girls.

One has to view such things and those promoted by ma$$ media as suspect now. Good way for perverts to get access to their prizes. Set up a foundation that cares about kids.

Judge Nigel Sweeney told London’s Southwark Crown Court that the performer, a fixture on British and Australian screens for years, had abused the trust of millions.

Ignoring appeals of Harris’s attorney that the trial had punished him enough, Sweeney ruled he must spend time behind bars for the 12 counts of abuse that took place from the 1960s to the 1980s.

‘‘You have shown no remorse for your crimes at all,’’ Sweeney said. ‘‘Your reputation lies in ruins, you have been stripped of your honors. But you have no one to blame but yourself.’’

The sentence was a spectacular fall from grace for the Australian-born celebrity who had been well respected in both countries.

Celebrity makes me sick.

He was granted the privilege of painting an official portrait for Queen Elizabeth II for her 80th birthday and performed at the monarch’s Diamond Jubilee concert outside Buckingham Palace in 2012.

Somehow I thought that crop of strange sex combinations was involved. Who knows what other evil lurks behind the throne?

His conviction follows investigations into sex abuse allegations from decades ago against a number of British celebrities, including the late BBC TV host Jimmy Savile, who was a friend of Harris. After he died in 2011, police determined Savile had molested hundreds of young people.

"Sex traffickers sentenced in Britain" Associated Press   July 04, 2014

LONDON — An international trafficking network forced more than 120 Eastern European women into prostitution, using violence and intimidation to operate brothels across London on a commercial scale, police said Thursday.

It's the Jewish mafia, folks!

Five members of the gang were sentenced to between three and 12 years in prison for luring victims to Britain with false promises of legitimate work. The organizer, Vishal Chaudhary, received 12 years. The women were forced to have sex with up to 20 men a day.

The gang managed the women from a makeshift call center using more than 40 mobile phones, with each phone containing a victim’s name, brothel location, and fees.

Then the NSA and GCHQ had to be all over that.

The gang confiscated the victims’ passports and threatened to tell their families they were prostitutes, police said. Some of the women believed they would be working as babysitters, or in administrative jobs, after responding to online job postings. Most of the women came from Hungary; others were from Poland and the Czech Republic.

"Tally for UK royals’ upkeep: $61m" Associated Press   June 27, 2014

LONDON — Buckingham Palace says the monarchy cost British taxpayers $60.8 million last year — just under $1 for everyone in the country.

Not much, but in this time of austerity maybe it's time to cut the monarchy loose.

More than a third of the money was spent on repairs and maintenance to aging palaces.

Are there homeless in Britain?

Some $5.8 million was spent in the year ending March 31 refurbishing part of London’s Kensington Palace into a home for Prince William, his wife Catherine, and their son, Prince George.

The work included removing asbestos, installing new heating, and ‘‘simple redecoration.’’ William and Kate paid for carpets, curtains, and furnishings.

Are there homeless in Britain?

William has considerable personal financial resources to draw upon, including the multimillion pound estate left by his mother, Princess Diana. He shares the proceeds of that estate with his brother, Prince Harry.

As the accounts were published Thursday, Keeper of the Privy Purse Alan Reid said the royal household was keen to ‘‘maximize the value for money’’ of the monarchy.

I see no value in it whatsoever, sorry.

Another Brit told to stick it:

"Britain’s David Cameron isolated in vote on EU leader" by Juergen Baetz and Geir Moulson | Associated Press   June 27, 2014

BRUSSELS — Many political battles are ugly — but toss in 28 nations, high unemployment, angry voters, and a skeptical Britain and the fight over who will be the European Union’s next chief executive could have profound consequences.

Prime Minister David Cameron of Britain has set himself up for a defeat as his vocal campaign to block the front-runner for the top EU job, former Luxembourg prime minister and Brussels insider Jean-Claude Juncker, fails to gain traction.

Many fear that an increasingly isolated Britain could choose to leave the bloc — something that has never happened in the EU’s history.

At their summit Friday, the bloc’s leaders are set to nominate Juncker as the next president of the European Commission, the EU’s powerful executive arm, which is in charge of drafting legislation, overseeing countries’ budgets, and policing the EU’s single market.

‘‘They are about to take what I think is the wrong step,’’ Cameron said Thursday. ‘‘I will stick to my guns, I will stick to my principles, I will insist on that vote.’’ Cameron views the EU ‘‘too big, too bossy, and too interfering’’ and sought to block Juncker, whom he sees as the embodiment of a pro-integration, consensus-favoring, empire-building Brussels clique that will not return power to member nations.

Cameron says the strong results last month for euroskeptic and anti-immigration parties in elections in several EU countries, including France and Britain, were a wake-up call that the bloc ‘‘must either change or accept further decline.’’

But did anybody answer?

But his anti-Juncker campaign has backfired, raising pressure on a leader who has pledged to hold a referendum on whether Britain should stay in the EU and faces competition from a rising anti-EU party.

‘‘Cameron has maneuvered himself into a corner,’’ said Fabian Zuleeg, head of the European Policy Centre, a think-tank. ‘‘His strategy hasn’t worked and it has added to the process of alienation between the United Kingdom and the rest of the European Union.’’

I expect his popularity will soon rise.

Britain had been hoping for support from Germany, the EU’s most economically powerful member, to block Juncker. Chancellor Merkel has spoken out passionately for Britain staying in the EU — Britain has been a useful German ally in promoting trade — but is not budging on Juncker.

How things change, huh?

Germany and England at war again?

"EU chief picked despite Britain’s opposition" Associated Press   June 28, 2014

BRUSSELS — European Union leaders on Friday picked Jean-Claude Juncker, former Luxembourg prime minister, to become the bloc’s new chief executive despite Britain’s outspoken opposition, further alienating the UK from its continental partners.

With the move, the EU leaders broke a decades-old tradition of choosing the president of the European Commission by consensus. Summit chairman Herman Van Rompuy said 26 of the bloc’s 28 countries voted for Juncker, with only Britain and Hungary opposing him.

‘‘Sometimes you have to lose a battle to win the war,’’ Prime Minister David Cameron of Britain declared after the vote, calling the long-time Brussels insider ‘‘the wrong person’’ for the high-profile job of leading the bloc of 500 million people.

That's, well, Churchillian!
