"Man, 75, drives car into McDonald’s
A 75-year-old man accidentally drove his car into a McDonald’s restaurant in Barnstable Wednesday, causing no injuries but major damage to the building and another car, police said. Walter Mayo III, of Orleans, was backing his car up in the McDonald’s parking lot when his foot got stuck on the gas pedal, which caused him to lose control as the vehicle zoomed backward, Sergeant Sean Sweeney said. Mayo’s car hit a Ford Focus and then slammed into the side of the McDonald’s, Sweeney said. Neither driver was injured. Half a dozen people were in the restaurant, but no one was hurt, Sweeney said. Mayo was issued a citation."
