Where the Journey Ends

"A friend of mine is doing some botanical work at the Ramat Hanadiv Memorial gardens in Israel. The gardens, memorializing the Baron and Baroness Edmond de Rothschild, bear testimony to another emotional re-burial story. De Rothschild was a huge supporter of the Zionist venture in Palestine, contributing money, as well as technological and agricultural know-how to the early Jewish settlers. He even sent rootstocks from his Chateau Lafite-Rothschild Bordeaux winery to launch Palestine’s fledgling wine industry....

The sight of the name Rothschild is rare in my paper, and the name is completely absent my ejewkhazional history books. That seems strange for such a great and influential House, doesn't it? Sure is plenty about the evil of Hitler, though.
