TEHRAN - A Tehran court has jailed several people accused of involvement in a US-sponsored plot to overthrow Iran's Islamic system of government, a semiofficial news agency said yesterday.

The Mehr News Agency said the accused had confessed, but did not say how many there were or give details on the sentences. Iran said last week that it had arrested four Iranians in connection with a plot to topple the Islamic system (Reuters)."
