"Islamists win big in regional election
KUALA TERENGGANU - An opposition party won a fiercely contested regional election yesterday in a vote cast as a referendum on the incoming prime minister, Najib Razak. The Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party won the Parliament seat in Kuala Terengganu, a state capital, by 2,631 votes. The government retains control of Parliament, but the results showed the opposition's strength as Razak deals with a weakened economy (Reuters)."
