WASHINGTON - A rise in illnesses caused by a bacterial infection among children in Minnesota, including a fatal case of meningitis, prompted US health officials yesterday to warn of the importance of vaccinations for the Hib bacteria.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the situation in Minnesota, where five children became gravely ill from Hib, may indicate that the strain of bacteria is threatening more children because many have not received booster doses....

So who released it and from what government facility?

The child who died had not received any vaccination because of the parents' personal beliefs, health officials said. Merck & Co. in 2007 recalled its Hib vaccines because production equipment may not have been properly sterilized....

You see, that's how the big-brother (or mother) state intends to invade your homes and families, America! EVERY KID will have to GET HIS SHOTS!

Before the introduction of the vaccine in the early 1990s, about 20,000 US children would come down with illnesses caused by Hib bacteria a year. Vaccination has cut that by 99 percent, officials said.

You know, that may well be true (part of controlling the society is actually doing things that are successful to build trust); however, when I see Merck (or some other pharmaceutical involved, forget it! That means it's all about the $$$$$.
