That's the message I am getting from the Almighty above; why aren't you?
Who do you think Mother Nature and Father Time work for?
"Iowa flooding causes millions in damage" by Associated Press | July 26, 2010
MONTICELLO, Iowa — “It is simply unbelievable. This is unprecedented. We’ve had floods before and we’ve always been able to contain the situation and minimize the damage, but with Mother Nature’s fury . . . there was no way to do anything about it,’’ said Mike Willey, president of the board of directors at the Lake Delhi Recreation Association. “There was simply too much water.’’

The city’s sewer plant had been flooded and shut down about 7 p.m. Saturday, said public works director Dana Edwards.
Most of the city’s 3,700 residents could flush their toilets, but the waste was pouring into the river. Still, environmental damage shouldn’t be great because the waste was being diluted by the flood water, Edwards said.
Oh, that makes me feel a whole lot better -- the same way that oil and chemicals have been diluted in the Gulf.
Ready for a swim in the ... oh, never mind. Maybe the local official should be made to take a forced bath.
In Chicago, more than 7 inches of rain fell Saturday, overwhelming the sewer system and waterways.
Water covered portions of several Chicago interstates and the commuter train tracks that run along them, leading crews to divert traffic and call in bus shuttles. Portions of Interstate 290 west of downtown were closed for several hours.
That is a BIG DEAL and it is BURIED for two days now in my BG.
Severe storms hit parts of the southern Ohio Valley to the Mid-Atlantic coast yesterday. High winds were reported from West Virginia, southern Pennsylvania, and Maryland throughout the afternoon.
Massive power outages hit the nation’s capital and surrounding areas last night after powerful storms barreled through and downed power lines and countless trees, including one that fell on a minivan and killed a woman.
The remnants of Tropical Depression Bonnie produced more unsettled weather along the central Gulf Coast yesterday. Heavy rain and thunderstorms were reported across parts of southern Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle.
I'm sure that is going to do great things for that toxic stew they are calling the Gulf of Mexico.
Extreme heat and humidity persisted in the East and central Plains, with daytime highs running well above average and heat indexes reaching past 110 degrees.

And you know the old saying: if you can't beat 'em, dump chemicals all over 'em.
"Winthrop sprays tonight to combat West Nile threat" by June Q. Wu, Globe Correspondent | July 26, 2010
The town of Winthrop will spray for mosquitoes late tonight after some insects carrying the potentially fatal West Nile virus were found Thursday, town health officials said....
Spraying will be between 10 p.m. and midnight, said Jeanne Maggio, Winthrop town councilor and chairwoman of the Public Health and Safety Committee, and residents should close any streetside windows and avoid walking their pets during that time....
In Lakeville, town officials have decided to close public parks at dusk until further notice, after two samples of mosquitoes tested positive for the encephalitis virus the week of July 12, a week earlier than the mosquitoes with that virus generally show up, officials said.
Lakeville park officials are also asking residents to avoid being outdoors from dusk to dawn, when mosquitoes are most active.
Other towns that have reported cases of West Nile virus include North Andover and Arlington, and mosquitoes with the encephalitis virus have been found in Mattapoisett and Rochester.
While not wanting to downplay the issue, why am I sensing another swine-flu-like scare? Must they grab on to anything to keep the fear going?
