With the November midterm elections fewer than four months away, Obama’s standing among white voters has sunk, leading some party strategists to fret that the president’s erosion — and the party’s — could hurt Democrats’ chances of holding on to their House and Senate majorities.
If they hang on to them there should be an investigation.
“Since in the past House elections white voters tended to represent the independent vote, [the midterms] will surely be devastating for Democrats running in an election that will be a referendum on the Obama agenda,’’ predicted one senior Democratic operative who tracks House races....

It began with the viewing of a video on a conservative website of Sherrod’s remarks about not doing all she could to help a white farmer two decades ago. After she was told to resign — with the NAACP declaring its approval — the situation became complicated when the rest of the edited video was released by the NAACP and Sherrod insisted her remarks were about reconciliation, not the stoking of racism.
So the White House and MSM got SUCKERED, huh?

By yesterday afternoon, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs was apologizing to Sherrod “for the entire administration’’ and saying that officials did not know all the facts when she was fired....

COBLESKILL, N.Y. — The mayor of an upstate New York village has resigned after he was secretly recorded using a racial slur that mocked President Obama’s campaign slogan.
Mark Nadeau told a meeting filled with protesters Tuesday that he was not a racist and was stepping down as Cobleskill mayor because the controversy was hurting his family. He also apologized for saying anything that stirred hostility.
“My family is number one,’’ Nadeau said. “Anybody who knows me knows I am not a racist.’’
The college and farming community near Albany has been in turmoil since the Cobleskill highway superintendent released an audio recording earlier this month. Nadeau, a white Republican, can be heard using the slur in a sarcastic play on the Obama slogan “Change.’’ Another town official can be heard using the slur to deride Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Look, the good Dr. and Obama have nothing in common -- except race.

Bill VanHandel, who said he’s been a friend of Nadeau for 13 years, said Nadeau was wrong to use the slur but should be forgiven. “Now we know he made a mistake. He’s apologized,’’ VanHandel said.
