"Court rules against states on Yucca waste" July 02, 2011|Associated Press
WASHINGTON - The Obama administration won a legal battle yesterday in the fight over where to bury the nation's nuclear waste, but it is not likely to be the last ruling.

The federal appeals court ruled against South Carolina and other states that want to ship spent nuclear fuel to a repository 90 miles from Las Vegas at Yucca Mountain.

Congress chose Yucca Mountain as the leading candidate for waste disposal. But opponents are concerned about contamination, and the Obama administration said it would not consider the site.

Which means we have little Fukushima spent-fuel pools all over the place, 'murka.
