Happy Fourth of July

Unfortunately, because of AmeriKa's inculcation, 'er, indoctrination, 'er, ejerkashunal system no one understands history.  

It's what the rest of the world is doing in the streets, America.

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.  

And here we are in the year 2011, America.

Boy those founding fathers were smart!

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security....   

Maybe you can start with the TSA and spying and then work in the unwanted wars based on lies and the Wall Street and corporate looting of the U.S. treasury.

It's amazing, but when you read the list of grievances against King George so many of them can be applied to the AmeriKan government of today in one form or another.

"Revelers urged to honor fallen soldier

US Representative Frank Guinta, Republican of New Hampshire, is calling for a moment of silence today in honor of a soldier who recently died of injuries suffered in Afghanistan. Army Specialist Nicholas Bernier died June 25 at a hospital in Germany. The 21-year-old from East Kingston was a combat medic whose unit came under attack in Afghanistan on June 22. Bernier joined the Army in March 2008. He arrived at Fort Polk, La., in April 2010 and deployed with his unit in October. Guinta spoke with Bernier’s family. He is urging New Hampshire residents to pause for a moment during holiday activities to honor Bernier and others who died in service to their country (AP)."

Maybe it is just me; however, I feel Americans have lost what this day truly means among the jingoistic exceptionalism that has been promoted by the government and its mouthpiece media.
