No Welfare For Workers

But the government will pay to move the jobs offshore!

"Trade breakthrough may clear way for vote" June 29, 2011|Associated Press

WASHINGTON -- The White House and congressional lawmakers neared a breakthrough in the long-stalled effort to finalize coveted free trade agreements with South Korea, Colombia, and Panama -- pacts President Obama has hailed as a boon for the US economy.

We have been told that for over 20 years now and it's a lie.  So sad to see this man of change spew the same s*** as the last guy and the guy before him.

Key lawmakers from both parties agreed yesterday to work on an agreement to extend aid for American workers displaced by foreign trade.

Yeah, a boon.

My own philosophy is that trade should work from the inside out. Local resources should be used to provide for locals first with surpluses being traded as close as possible to home. Americans are not the only ones being displaced.  We have all seen the supply disruptions caused by the globalist's plan and that is no way to run an economy -- or a world, for that matter. Why do you think immigrants are driven here (or anywhere they go to find work or a better chance in life)? Too bad the reality doesn't match the travel brochure.

The White House, acknowledging concerns from labor unions, had threatened to hold up passage of the pacts unless the Trade Adjustment Assistance program, or TAA, was renewed.

Uh-huh, just no collective bargaining!

The Senate Finance Committee will begin considering the trade agreements and the assistance program tomorrow. Committee chairman Max Baucus, a Montana Democrat, plans to include TAA in the legislation on the Korea deal, the largest and most sought after of the three agreements.

Some top Republicans balked at that move.

Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah, the top Republican on the Finance Committee, said it was a "highly partisan decision" that "risks support for this critical job-creating trade pact in the name of a welfare program of questionable benefit at a time when our nation is broke."

(Sigh)

Yeah, but we ain't broke enough to shovel billions upon billions into mass-murdering wars and missile strikes, or broke enough to cough up money to Wall Street or promise the Fed usury interest payments for buying back MBS crap Wall Street sold to damn near everybody, or broke enough to cut Israel a check whenever they want, or hell, not even broke enough to maintain your pos office, Hatch. Now drop to you knees and gobbled down rich dick 'cuz that is all you guys down there are doing. As for the rest of the rabble out here, it's turn, bend, and spread.

Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell said he would oppose any trade deal in which the worker assistance program was embedded.

I must say one thing about Republicans over Democrats: at least they hold firm to their a**hole position. I really can't remember the last time the Democrats put up a real fight on any issue. Wars, spying, torture, looting, I'm trying to think of one area where they took a stand without cutting some deal. I really can't think of one.

Let's add invisible ink insult to injury:

"Corporations seek tax break to bring profits home" June 20, 2011|By David Kocieniewski, New York Times

Well, I can only say the 'round h're that is called EXTORTION!

Shakespeare updated for the 21st-century: Kill all the corporations!

NEW YORK — Some of the nation’s largest corporations have amassed vast profits outside the country and are pressing Congress and the Obama administration for a tax break to bring the money home.

Apple has $12 billion waiting offshore, Google has $17 billion, and Microsoft is holding $29 billion.

And they are supposed to be so-consumer-friendly and socially conscious!

Under a proposed repatriation holiday, the federal income tax owed would fall to 5.25 percent for one year, from 35 percent. Short term, the measure could generate tens of billions in tax revenue.

If you are in business and sell at a loss is that consider a good thing? Yeah, in this case it is NOT LOST REVENUE or anything!

Corporations and their lobbyists say a tax break could inject $1 trillion or more into the economy, and they promoted the proposal as “the next stimulus’’ at a conference Wednesday in Washington.

I'm NOT ONLY SICK of the SALES PITCH, I'm really getting DOWNRIGHT F***ING ANGRY AGAIN!  These F***ING MONEY-HUNGRY, PSYCHOTIC LOOTERS pushing their pos propaganda so they fatten their already-lined pockets!!!!!!!

But that’s not how it worked last time.

Oh, YOUR KIDDING!?!?

Congress and the Bush administration gave companies a similar tax incentive, in 2005, and 800 took advantage. Though the tax break lured them into bringing $312 billion back to the United States, 92 percent of that money was returned to shareholders in the form of dividends and stock buybacks, according to the nonpartisan National Bureau of Economic Research....

Yeah, not only are corporations getting a deal for avoiding taxes, they are GETTING a TAXPAYER-FUNDED CHECK for HUNDREDS of MILLIONS even though they MAD BILLIONS in PROFIT!

This SYSTEM is a SHAM, folks!
