State Treasurer Steven Grossman has been assigned an armed bodyguard after the federal Department of Homeland Security informed state public safety officials of a potential threat.
Grossman’s spokesman, Jon Carlisle, said the treasurer’s office was told of the threat a week ago Thursday, but he would not provide further details, other than to say that “appropriate security steps have been developed and implemented.’’
It is unclear what the threat entailed or why the Department of Homeland Security was involved.
Grossman served as head of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee in the 1990s and has continued to be active in US-Israel related activities....
