Cain Dominates Boston Globe Debate Coverage

I guess I should have watched the debate, although a person I know that did (God bless 'em) told me Perry's faulty memory was the most memorable moment of the debate.

Printed Globe did tell me that, but pay wall won't let me convey that to you, dear readers:

Cain gets cheers and wide berth at debate" by Matt Viser and Michael Levenson Globe Staff / November 10, 2011

Mitt Romney returns to his home state today, where he was greeted this morning with full-page ads criticizing his position on the auto bailout and where he will be the focus of his seven rivals tonight on the debate stage. The former Massachusetts governor is being targeted by both Democrats and by his Republican rivals, who are trying to knock him off his march to the nomination. Tonight marks the 9th debate of the nominating contest, and provides yet another opportunity for candidates to present themselves as a chief alternative to Romney.

Next Day Update:

"Cain not shying from controversy; Candidate’s plan for Obama: 'Beat him with a Cain’" by Matt Viser  |  Globe Staff, November 11, 2011

YPSILANTI, Mich. - Herman Cain’s defiant response to the allegations - and the way it has energized some of his supporters - coupled with Texas governor Rick Perry’s lackluster debate performances -seems to be putting the Georgia businessman in a stronger position to be a chief alternative to Mitt Romney for the Republican presidential nomination....

Ron Paul does not exist according to the New England flagship of feces.

Cain apologized for referring to former House speaker Nancy Pelosi during Wednesday night’s debate as “Princess Nancy.’’

“I apologize for calling her Princess Pelosi, if that’s the biggest story you all want, OK?’’ he said....

Gee, the Globe didn't report that comment in their printed pos.

And what an arrogant pos is Cain.

As he walked into the Big Sky Diner - wearing a beige sweater-vest and his trademark fedora - people rushed to meet him....

“As you can tell, they’re starting to come after me, they’re starting to attack me any and every way they can,’’ he said. “Since they can’t kill the ideas, they’re trying to attack my integrity and my character, but the American people are not buying that. They are sick of gutter politics.’’

Yes, we are not buying the whole contrived political puppet show.

“That sleeping giant that we call, ‘We the people,’ it has awakened,’’ he said. “That sleeping giant has awakened and it’s not going back to sleep.’’

And they are OUT IN THE STREETS PROTESTING!

Cain has proved remarkably resilient, with many voters having brushed aside allegations from four women that he sexually harassed them.

“Whoever dug all this out tried to find individuals to distract from his message,’’ said Jo Pichan, a 56-year-old realtor from Ypsilanti. “If there’s any truth to it, I would be very disturbed. But I don’t see any right now.’’

“It just shows the character of these women, to wait 10 or 15 years [to go public with the allegations]. If they had a problem, they should have taken care of it then,’’ said Stan Johnson, a 60-year-old retiree from Ypsilanti who says Cain is his top choice. “There may be a little truth to it, but I don’t see why they waited so long. I think they’ve got other agendas.’’

Easy for him to say, 'eh, ladies?

If there is any truth then he should be done, although I also see other agendas at work.
