"A season of mourning in America’s hometown" October 15, 2011|By Jenna Russell, Globe Staff
PLYMOUTH - Plymouth, best known as the home of Plymouth Rock, is increasingly a place with another, more troubling distinction. The town of 56,000 has mourned six service members killed overseas during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, among the highest death tolls of any community in Massachusetts.
Army Specialist Steven E. Gutowski, a 24-year-old graduate of Plymouth North High School, became the most recent casualty when he was killed last month in Afghanistan, after his unit was attacked by insurgents with explosives. His funeral will be held Monday in Plymouth, and his photo will be added to a bookshelf in town hall.
The picture frames have multiplied, and the shelf is growing crowded.
“When we started to put them on the shelf, we never thought that they would fill it.’’
Now you know why unpatriotic, traitorous Americans protested before they started. But did any listen, no, no, no one listened. We were insulted and denigrated, and there has never been an apology forthcoming from that crowd.
No disrespect intended to veterans, but I'm sick of a culture based on war and propaganda in so many ways. I've reached the point where -- as callous as it may sound -- I no longer care about AmeriKan war dead. I've been on here for OVER FIVE YEARS SCREAMING for an END to the DAMN THINGS and we are STILL THERE as MORE WARS have been WAGED and MORE are in the OFFING!
The simple fact is I care far more about the millions of victims of our government's mass-murder based on unholy lies than the tools of empire (with an exception made for all the vets who have seen the light). The American public and people have had more than enough time to reject the war machine. Rather than join the military for economic gain why don't you join a Wall Street protest in a neighborhood near you and stop serving the war machine (and banks that benefit from all that debt)?
So go ahead, AmeriKa, join Israel in attacking Iran so your sons and daughters can die in Iraq and Afghanistan. Believe the bullshit script and propaganda when the next false flag attack fingers Iran (in cooperation with the "Al-CIA-Duh" from Pakistan that hates them and views them as worse heretics than unbelievers) for the nuclear destruction of Chicago. Welcome the WWIII as a Christmas present given to you by globe-kicking murders and criminals.
Now open your bag-with-a-bow present.

I must also confess that a lying, agenda-pushing, war-promoting press bothers me with its crocodile tears.

Despite my bitter anger, that makes me sad. The anger is saved for the mass-murdering, war-criminal leaders and the criminally-collaborative AmeriKan media.
Of course, how could they be to blame? They are only trying to help:
"Towns faulted on aid to veterans; Assistance mandates go unmet, state says" October 25, 2011|By Brian MacQuarrie, Globe Staff
Massachusetts veterans and their dependents appear to be forfeiting hundreds of thousands of dollars in annual state benefits because some municipal officials who serve veterans are unaware of available aid, not working state-mandated hours, or not trying hard enough to locate retired service members, state officials say.
As a result, officials said, thousands of financially struggling veterans might not be receiving cash payments and medical reimbursements they are entitled to get....
State authorities say they are encountering resistance to hiring veterans agents from some cities and towns that are already straining to make ends meet. Although the state covers 75 percent of the cost of the benefits, municipalities must cover the balance. The Medfield town administrator spoke wryly of “civil disobedience’’ by simply ignoring state law, when discussing the mandate with local officials.
“Frankly, towns have gotten away with murder for years,’’ said Richie Girard, 44, the veterans agent in Agawam. “Some veterans agents find they get nervous if they have to keep extending their budget, because they might get pressure from the top. Some guys are actually afraid for their jobs.’’
To address the problem, the state has launched an unprecedented effort to bring all 351 cities and towns into compliance with a state law that dates to the Civil War and requires a veterans service officer for each community.
The compliance effort has taken on urgency, said Coleman Nee, secretary of the state Department of Veterans’ Services, because the swelling needs of the state’s 385,000 veterans have reached “the most critical time for us.’’
The vast majority of veterans served in World War II, Korea, or Vietnam, and many are well over 60 and in need of attention for everything from long-term care and elder services to filing disability claims related to Agent Orange exposure, Nee said. At the same time, tens of thousands of veterans from Afghanistan and Iraq are returning home....
